Yep, shadows indicate it's late afternoon, most are headed back to town. Family, friends, hotel/motel, wherever they are staying temporarily. Most residents start cleanup early in the morning, when it's cooler and a breeze is likely. Prolly still limited utilities if any at all and gas generators need fed too. Not sure what Jose was expecting but that IS alot of damage. Doesn't look like any ground level dwelling was unscathed. Sure, the block construction doesn't fall down or wash away as easily but the extensive damage is evident (to those who've seen it before). Anyway, yeah ... lots of traffic outbound is not surprising. Hours working in the heat, fuel needs, offensive smells and stress get to ya 'bout that time of day 😢 Not sure why Jose is speeding through Holmes Beach but that's one reason lookie loos are kept at a distance or refused entry til some cleanup is accomplished. Prayers for everyone 🙏 Island people are resilient, resourceful and reminiscent of times gone by. May they find peace and patience as they endure the rest of this 🌀 season.
