- Here is a clip From the "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler from Randol's" show of Joe Douglas & The American Cajun Band. Randol's is a cajun resturant/ dance hall located in Lafayette, Louisiana. I would HIGHLY recommend a meal and dance there anytime. Check them out at www.randols.com Almost every night they feature a Cajun band.
Joe Douglas and his band - I am not that familiar with. If anyone has info about this very good band, please let me know and I'll post info. Видеоклипы
I've been there with Joe - the Boss of the Bayou. Good food, good music. I went to Joe's house. He was trying to sell his Coach. He was real close friends with Merle Haggard. They both love to fish. Joe's dream was to fish around the world! I was in a band called 'Zydemax'. We played Zydeco and Reggae and did all those festivals!
Great memories!!!
Look at the ladies all looking good not over weight that’s what dancing does for you
Love the way they don't smile.
Dancing at Randol's was one of my best dance experiences ever. The music, sociability of the people, and the aged atmosphere of the place were wonderful. I danced there in 1995 with a wonderful girl named Sue. I will always remember her and the Cajun music and dancing. John
I wish this was still on tv!
This is right down the road from my house!
Ce l`fun de voir tout s`beau monde aouere du bon temps.
A tous les cajuns,un bonjour de Paris,France,et une grosse bise!!!
2 brilliant songs! LOVE IT!!!
Have this show also on video (with also Blackie Forestier, Jambalaya Cajun Band, etc.)
I wonder how many more of this videos are available (and if they are still available anywhere).
Cheers from Belgium!
They sing in French Helen because the music originated among the decendants of the French settlers who settled in Acadia. They were known as 'Acadians' over the years this became shortened to 'Cajuns', hence the name Cajun Music. french is the predominant language of Cajun Music.
i dont remeber randol's being that big
The steel player is Junior Martin, who makes the greatest Cajun Accordions, played by all the pros.
Last I heard they sell for about $1,700.00 each. My player bought three of them, so he could play in 3 keys.
The date was on the video already. I did not insert the date so if there is a mistake, it was Randol's. Tell your father he is well respected.
Biddeford Maine has French festival in late spring see ya there
you're lucky, scrambler390 and broadband102 to have had un pere comme ca;
Pierre
Is this Cajun French recognizable to you all (y'all) French people? I love living in America (USA).
I aint in the business, I dont know what is what is right or wrong to do . But I know talent.
I pledge $ 5.000 AUS 5 grand to play right here in Mandurah. West Australia, to get you here. Somebody else can look after the details
Love to have you here, Cajun Joe Et all. .
What's the name of the second song they play? It is a cover, right? It reminds me of 'Grandpa was a carpenter' from John Prine, but I'm not sure.
Bverlooy 9 years late but Valse du Malchanceux for those who view in the future.
-Ydit ti "ce ca la valse qu`yetais pres jouer", j`aime ca c`te chanson la, j`aimrais bin saouaire? -C`e ti ca qu`e l`nom d`la tchoune, "la valse du mal chanseu" ?
Which is closer to the Mother Tongue, Cajun French or Quebecois French?
Just as an academic question.
Can't say, as Cajun or 'Acadian' is a rural French and Quebecois French is more 'urban', think 'Parisienne').
Right?
@@highwatercircutrider Its all French. Just like what is spoken in most of the US or other parts of Canada, they speak English.
Quebecois; it is almost like the actual French.
Cajun is often mixed with some English but still it is quite understandable for a French who doesn't speak English.
What do you mean like the actual French. Quebecois is French just as Belgian is French. Louisiana French is still French!
One of the last years that actual genuine Cajuns would go out dancing. Now its mostly these hippie foreign tourist that have no real rhythm when it comes to dancing to Cajun music. Where did all the Cajuns go? Dont know, but you wont hardly find any at Festival Acadiennes. LOL, I guess its all becoming commercialized and the real people that know better are not wanting to participate.
+greezy39 sadly i agree w/you..i Lived in Lafayette during this time, and got to know many people from Randols, who really taught me to Cajun Dance, as i only did Zydeco/French Creole being from California..But i was at FA in 2014, and was bored to tears and none of the ladies who taught me how to dance came out, as they said almost verbatim what you said about it.
I love the music but I hate the dancing.
+Larz Gustafsson you probably been behind the wheel too long.
lol
