I've used Omega boar brushes for many years. They are very good for raising hairs that are flat, ergo they prevent ingrown hairs. The brushes are well made, economically priced, and widely available. Since I use Proraso shaving soap, this type of brush always produces a great lather with cold water. One could spend more on other brushes, but Omega works well for me.
I use a omega boar brush to scrub my face in the evening with stirling facial soap.Makes great lather and exfoliates my face well and feels super clean
You're right Matt, the Omega bore (silver handle) is a good all rounder, esp with hard soap or face lathering. Once broken in (not a long or complicated process) they are everything a shaving brush should be. Boar brushes last, I have one I was issued in 1070; and, while a bit shorter and less dense than when it was new, it still works. Nice product review. Cheers
Omega boar brushes are my favorite. I use them daily. My only issue with them is the plastic handle develops cracks after a few years of use. The knot remains in perfect shape. Being a woodturner, I just make a new handle and keep on using them!
I’ve had a classic red handled Omega boar for years and love its feel. I recently got a PAA synthetic which is great for more regular shaves, but for a few days growth, I’m always reaching for the Omega.
I have the big chrome one. The professional, you called it. I love it. I love the extra scratchy feel of the boar hair, how fast it makes a great lather, and a lot of bang for your buck.
My first brush was the Omega/Proraso boar brush Now I also have one of their synthetic brushes and their silvertip badger. Great brushes and a good value
I've used synthetic, both branded and unbranded, but I currently use 2 omegas on a daily basis. I alternate so they get chance to dry out properly between uses. I have a third smaller Proraso brand travel one. They are amazing and when they need replacing, it'll be omega. I have a mid size and large and the large definitely leathers better but they all leather better than previous brushes.
Hi Matt I have only just found the Omega Evo brush, im usually a badger or boar man but the Evo is amazing in my opinion. I have bought 4 of them in different colours 😂 but definitely a winner for me. Keep up the great work From the uk Paul

I have a Proraso-branded Omega boar brush that I like very well. That brush with Proraso tube cream or Cella bowl soap is my typical go-to lately and always delivers a great lather and comfortable shave. It has significantly more backbone than my badger and synthetic brushes - which has pluses and minuses. My wife just bought me a 6807 black badger barber pole brush for my birthday that I am eager to try. If nothing else, I think looks very (molto?) cool!
I currently use an Omega Boar brush I purchased through Proraso. I had been using badger hair brushes for many years. What I noticed with badger brushes is they wear out all at once. Using the boar brush I like the scrubbier feel to it and the way it just keeps producing lather upon lather. I'm starting to feel that a boar brush is some good value for the cost of one.
I have two in my den a smaller diameter boar that I shaved down to get max stiffness. My last one purchased was their synthetic with the barber pole handle.
I have two Omega brushes. One is synthetic with a very tall loft, and I find it difficult to use. It's soft and flexes too much, throwing cream all over the place. The second is one of their more pricey badger brushes...and I save it for special occassions. It is by far and away the most luxurious feeling brush I have. In addition to two Semogue brushes, which I also love, I have the Razor Emporium brush which has very quickly become my daily driver. Thanks for spotlighting Omega.
I first tried Omega with the Pro 49 (10049) and while it was my first boar, it was too tall of a loft for me and I didn't like it much. That being said, later on I got a deal on one of the smaller "Puro Tasso" silvertip brushes and I loved it for quite a while. However, the best badger that I own is a bigger variant of the smaller silvertip one (Omega 641) and I got a very good deal on that one, basically like half price of the original MSRP. As far as boar brushes go, I prefer Semogue / Hereditas brushes more and have some very awesome brushes from that company.
I've owned so many different omega brushes over the years and I've gotta admit, I love their products. what's interesting to me that I haven't heard about lot was their badger line of brushes. what's the average price range of their badger brushes I wonder? 🤔
Matt, This is the second or third recent video on brushes; still no mention of horse hair. It seems no one talks about this alternative. You are a voice I have come to trust and respect for reviewing wet shaving products; so, please make a video that includes horse hair - even if it just a RUclips short since there seems to be very few available on the market. As for this spotlight, another great company review.
Was buying badgers for years decided to try a boar and never looked back . The best pre shave out there is lathering your face with a boar brush imo . Great brushes from omega I have a few wish they had better handles but the plastic keeps them very affordable . Recently tried their shaving cream and can’t get past that medicinal smell so that’s the only no from me 🤣
My first brush for wet shaving was omega boar brush got it for 13 $ , lot of hairz fall but still knot has more hair then my new synthetic Simpson brush😂😂😂
Matt could you make a new video on Horse Hair Brushes? They are very hard to find now days and I, and I’m sure many other peoples would be interested in them as an alternative to boar & badger. And what is the availability of them now? Your last video on the Vie Long was 7 years ago.
I seen a bunch of these brushes at my local chemist a few years ago.they came in a pack with shaving soap.i got 3 packs for $5 each.the omega shaving soap is amazing!!

Love boar brushes. Omega pro is a great brush and so is their barber brush with the black handle.
Love my omega boar brushes. They are super soft after broken in and lathers anything hard soaps and cream.
I grabbed the wooden handled boar brush on a whim and now its my main brush until the next shiny thing comes along :)
I love using my boat brush every so often, especially when I've not shaved for several days. I think everyone should have one in their den.
Oh wow. My first ever brush when starting out wet shaving was by Omega. A 22mm synthetic S-Brush.
I use a omega boar brush to scrub my face in the evening with stirling facial soap.Makes great lather and exfoliates my face well and feels super clean
If you've ever been to italy, it is an amazing place!!!

I have 2 boar and one synthetic and love all of them, the boar brush will expand in time as those ends split, excellent value:)

First time I used boar hair brush I thought it was too scratchy but the more you use it the softer it gets! I love boars hair brushes now!
I'm Italian and Omega is one of the few buisness I actively support and like in our country
My first brush !!!!

I bought an Omega brush this week & loving it so far!
Great products, great prices. Can't go wrong with Omega.
I have 10098 and 10099, waiting for their Elite Element series.

I use Omega brush but it's badger one, I like it more then boar brush but I have it as well, together with horse and synthetic.

Am using a pro 49 now for a good few years. Absolutely love the knot but really would love a different handle, any suggestions?
LOVE ME SOME BOAR!!!!!!
Nice Brushes good price, I have a few. And I like my tiny boar badger effect.
omega 20102 the best bristle you can have, in Italy it is called "scannatassi" as long as it is softer than a badger
I'm not mad about boars I prefer the badger. My main issue is I find that they can hoard the lather a little, although I do like their backbone.

Don't think omega has a horse hair brush. But I will be sure to mention it in a reflect video soon

Love a good boar brush. Especially with 2 days growth.
I seen a bunch of these brushes at my local chemist a few years ago.they came in a pack with shaving soap.i got 3 packs for $5 each.the omega shaving soap is amazing!!
Have two Omega’s that were under 35 buck for pair.
Do not see people spending hundred on a Shave brush.
