Hey Matt! Great video for beginners of injector razors! That Parker Injector is inspired by the 60s Pal Adjustable Injector. For the Pal Injectomatic, I have an original key, and it works much better than a modern key. Also, a trick I learned to get a blade out without replacing it with a new one is simply slide a pair of tweezers into the key slot. This opens the head of the razor enough where I just take a very small screwdriver and tap blade out. Or, you can slide key into razor, slide a new blade in halfway and pull out key. Both new and old blade will stick halfway out where you can slide both out from each side. Either method works! It's not good to store the razor with blade still in it. That could produce corrosion onto the razor with a wet blade still in it. You are correct in that if you suffer from razor irritation, injectors are a good solution! Thanks for the video! JimG
Good Morning Matt, I have the Supply SE and Pro. I really enjoy using them both. I just fine the Pro not the easiest to adjust with wet hands. I love the injector razors being retired military. I learn so much from you and your channel. Thank you Matt.
Matt I was watching I’d Lather Be Shaving and you talked about the repeater razors. Since that video I have collected many Schick repeater and injector razors and enjoy the shaves! Also the Supply razors are excellent. Thanks!
Hi Matt, thanks for the tutorial on how to load an injector razor. I clean my DE razors after every shave, how do you properly clean an injector razor? Regards, Lindsay 🪒💈
I have a Parker Injector. It does have a firmer shave. I found that a 1.75 to 2 is about the same shave I get on a 2 to 2.5 setting on my Rockwell T2 with Astra blades (still trying out a variety of DE blades). I use mine primarily in the mustache area because the Rockwell T2 butterfly has a big head and is less maneuverable.
New Schick branded blades that are made in China are available online. I've even found them in certain pharmacies that obviously cater to an older clientele (e.g., a Rexall drug store). I've also found that vintage NOS blades are relatively easy to find, usually made by Schick, but sometimes also from Gillette, PAL, and Personna. The American made Accutec blades can also be found online.
Great video Matt, from a fellow Matt. Just ordered my Merkur 34C HD from your site, super excited to dive into the world of safety razors. Keep up the great content, super helpful stuff!
Supply Single Edge SE is my favourite. I'm very untalented shaver and only this razor won't give me nicks and cuts. I love the feeling from those injector blades, they are different than double edge blades for sure. I have closer shave with Henson AL13 Mild but for some reason my hearth goes to Supply. Paired with shave gel - this thing just glides easy as.
Nice vid! I have Supply’s 2.0, SE and Pro, and also the Parker Adjustable. I’ve used Supply black and white label blades (but haven’t yet tried their Platinum), Parker/Ted Pella blades, and Schick. They all provide good shaves and I think they are particularly suited to 1 or 2 pass ‘comfortable’ shaves - really good for daily shavers or those with sensitive skin. But I must say that I can’t get quite the shave I can get with my favourite DE razors and blades. On my wish list is an L model Schick: my dad used one in the 70s before he went over to The Dark Side of Gillette cassettes 😏
Former Supply user here, did you use the (I guess) 1.0/original? Cut myself pretty good and quit but the older model had those removable heads for mild, medium and aggressive. Other problem I had was the edge of the blade running over the blade stop and rolling/ruining the blade. Do you have that issue with the Supply 2.0?
@@cjanquart I never used the original. Honestly, I only ever used the medium plate with the 2.0 - once I figured out with plate suited me best, I stuck with it. Every so often I do make a mess of loading a blade, but mostly I don’t have any problems with either alignment or the blades ‘grinding’ against the posts.
Love how this type of razor edges round the beard, goatee and mustache! Thank you for this video Matt! Asylum injector razor is another one. All chrome dude! Still in production I believe. I think we have already discussed the no longer in production Gillette Twinjector (Gillette Trac II Twin Injector). Hoping Dovo or Merkur make another injector - guess time will tell. 😁
Hooray, an injector video! 🙂 The "Parker" blades are made by AccuTec and are also sold as Personna, Taconic Shave, Hype (with the Hype X1 razor), and Mossei. The only others I'm aware of are Supply Black/White/that new one and the two (yellow and blue) Schick options. I've been able to get Supply blades into vintage Schicks by carefully removing a blade from the Supply injector key and placing it in an AccuTec key, then using it as directed. Edit: Is there any chance RE stocks some Schick injector blades from Japan? Edgewell still makes Schick-branded injector blades in the US... for the Japanese market. The yellow package blades for the US market are inexplicably made in China.
Great video and I dont have an injector handle, but I do have a Razo rock Hawk and its a 3 piece that uses injector blades. I find the feather proguards are my favorite blade.
I have the Supply non adjustable version. They claim they don’t require proprietary blades. The only blades that load the razor the way the the loading mechanism is supposed to work are the Supply brand blades.
I really like vintage. Including injector razors. The whole evolution within Ever-Ready and Schick for this style razor is cool. and they all shave so so well. Personna makes these and also manufactures for other brands as I understand - and you can get vintage blades which often, not always, also work well.
Hi Matt, I probably should try using a ISR.... BUT,......am still enjoying my RE DE & RE shaving creams & After Shave products. My life in front of the morning 'Shaving' Mirror has changed dramatically to the positive, now that I "discovered" RE and the wet shaving experience. My wife loves.......the after-aroma in the bathroom after I have shaved, especially with the RE Lavender & Sandal Wood shave creams. Eucalyptus remains her favorite fragrance. I love all of them and, enjoy the "hard choices" I have to make each morning, deciding which one to use in the AM. Kind Regards, Dave
I love injectors for head shaving. You don't have to worry about nicking your ear with the back half of a DE. The J1 and L1 are my favorites. I'd love a 3 piece that takes Injector blades similar to the Blackland Vector, but more narrow. I like AC razors, but they're just so wide (hint hint). Factoid: James Bond uses a Shick L1 injector in Live and Let Die.
HELLO MR MATT, SERIA BUENO QUE UN DIA PUEDA HACER UN CARA A CARA CON LA PARKER Y LA SUPPLY, NO SE SI YA LO TENGA EN EL CANAL. LA SUPPLY HE VISTO VARIOS REVIEWS Y SON POSITIVOS, YO TENGO LA PARKER INYECTOR Y ME PARECE QUE ES UN POCO AGRESIVA, ES LA QUE MENOS USO POR ESE MOTIVO. QUE MENTES MAESTRAS LAS DE AQUELLOS TIEMPOS, GRANDES MENTES QUE HA DADO SU TIERRA LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMERICA. UN LEGADO ETERNO PARA LA HUMANIDAD...
The Schick injector replacement blades cost 3000 yen in Japan, which is significantly more expensive compared to double-edged blades, so I can't afford them...
Thanks for the tips; I tried Supply but was really disappointed because the blade would ride along the 'ears'/slide stops and I cut myself up pretty bad. I have the older model that had three different heads (at extra cost) for mild, normal or aggressive but their SE and Pro are different and maybe corrected that issue. Tried is a couple more times but just couldn't get the angle right, especially on my chin and I eventually stopped using it (because using a tool shouldn't cause injury). I get the learning curve but trying to get cut less when getting cut the day before (I have to shave daily because of job grooming requirements) wasn't fun. Their customer service was good and they gave me a 50% refund and yes, their packaging is great. They claim the blades last longer/get more shaves but I don't really think so (probably just a marketing/sales pitch). I shave in the shower and just use Defender now; somewhat of a step up (or down depending on your point of view) because it like using my old Mach3 without the stupid expensive cartridges.
I just tried such a shave with a vintage Schick M2 adjustable injector razor at it's most aggressive setting vs a RazoRock Hawk V3 open comb SE razor using a Feather Professional Super blade. For myself, the SE Feather Artist Club razor more easily, efficiently and comfortably removed my beard growth. I just haven't found Schick injector razors (even the reportedly more aggressive early Type E injector razors) very efficient, but you can find other comments of satisfied users. Maybe the Supply 'Single Edge Pro' adjustable would have performed better. I hope Matt can do a similar shave (or you can find other reports of a similar shaving showdown) to help you decide upon a razor that meets the particular needs of your beard growth.
They perform differently from DE razors because of the stiffness of the blade, which is more than twice as thick (0.010") as a typical DE blade (0.004"). Also, the vintage Schick razors present the blade in a very thin and compact head, which makes them really maneuverable to reach nooks and crannies, like the area under your nose.

Injectors really helped cut down irritation when I first started wetshaving. Fantastic shavers!
Right on!
Love using all my vintage injectors!

Excellent how to video Matt, never tried an injector but those vintage Schick razors always intrigued me.
Started out shaving with a Schick Injector thanks to my mom, I had pimples back then and the Schick took care of them....

May have to pick one of these up in the near future. I like that the Parker has some adjustability!
If it helps, the 'SUPPLY' also has an Adjustable model (known as PRO).

Injector blades (38mm) shouldn't fit in a RazoRock Hawk, which use wider Feather Artist Club blades (50mm).

For new injector users, when loading, make sure the edge of the blade doesn’t drag across the tabs…the blade’s edge could get very rough.

Apples and oranges

The camera guy had one job
Injectors have been around forever, I learned to load before U-Tube.
It’s simple.🤪
Don't really see the point in injector razors? Saving time?
The stiffer blade and compact head, and many like the fixed angle. Blade longevity is nice, too.
They perform differently from DE razors because of the stiffness of the blade, which is more than twice as thick (0.010") as a typical DE blade (0.004"). The RIGHT Side and the Wrong (Left) Side, INDEED.
Thanks for the education, Matt.
I don't want one.😅
