Have you had a vegan breakfast at Tesco? If so, what did you think?
Just been watching your video. Where you let us meet your mum. What a lovely lady .She had the same reaction as I had 22 yrs ago .when my son. Came put .what a lovely channel this it .luv to you both. Guys x💕
Hash browns and couple slices of vegan bacon should defo be included
I agree on the hash brown front - especially as the non vegan breakfast comes with two included! We do order the Tesco breakfasts for delivery sometimes and other then the hash brown issue, we do all enjoy them :)
Wow that was steep-especially for coffee you don't enjoy! They definitely should include the hash browns-which should be 2 in a serving otherwise it's a hash brown. 😆
Only recently found your channel, and just love your interaction, education of others, and soulfulness. I was skeptical of subscribing to another channel-but I couldn't resist you both. Thank you for letting others know you are in the world and for shining your lights so brightly. xx Fleur
What a lovely comment, welcome and thank you. X
Thank you for this, that looked so delicious!! I agree the hash brown should definitely be included in the meal. Good try with the mushroom Jason 😊👍
Morrisons had one this morning x
Will be moving soon to England. Your videos have been very informative and helpful for me as a vegan; thank you 😊
Large tesco stores are good for vegan items but the small tesco express shops are usually very poor
Yes we know this and have talked about it on shopping vlogs, which this isn't.
@@ThoseVeganGuys sorry for going off-topic haha
Looks lovely. Thanks for sharing with us. ❤️❤️
Fair play for trying the mushroom Jason! xxx
Great looking breakfasts. Love reviews like these ones 😃
Glad you like them!
A bit pricey for the coffee and i agree that the hash browns should be included but was a colourful and balanced nutritional meal. I’m impressed. Xx
I had the vegan breakfast a few months ago and did enjoy it.
I rarely go out as it's difficult for me to get about so it was a rare treat, but I did enjoy it.
They could have at least given you 2 for 95 bleedin’ pence! 😲 Tesco tut tut really!? We all love hash browns…include them in the breakkie!! Also £2.70 for a coffee, since when did they turn into costa 😏
Don’t get me wrong, it looked great on the plate but I do think it’s a little on the pricey side for what you get, maybe that’s just my cheap northerness coming out 😆 I do think Mossa’s (Morrisons) breakfast looked better though 🙂
Tis a bit much innit, 95p each. All the more maddeining because they are included in the cheaper veggie and carni breakfast. Plus the coffee was incredibly weak.
Enjoyable and uplifting as always.
Personally I feel there should be TWO slices of toast. Plus the hash browns of course!
VERY happy to see you treating yourselves after some challenging days.
Thanks for setting a great example of helping the staff by tidying up after yourselves ❤
Good call!
Lovely surprise to see you both today. Keep on chillin’ 😘 xxx
I'll stick to morrisons I think
I add extra mushroom 🍄 lol
Oh ive been to the molino lounge and had their vegan range its nice x
Oh I miss this breakfast so much haven't had it in years !!!!!!!!! Makes me homesick!!!!!!!!! Here in Spain it's chocolate spread on toast or chocolate drinking milk( like hot cacoa) chocolate cookies or chocolate biscuits and tea or coffee for breakfast . Or sometimes no food at all . Just coffee. Maybe a Croissant.
No hot food here for breakfast sadly. The Spanish are always shocked and appalled at us eating this hot breakfast hahaha looks delicious but very expensive.
Ahhh we love going for a breakfast treat. Jason we almost gave you a drum roll when the mushroom was on your fork!! 🍄😄
Hello Paul and Jason - the breakfast looked lovely although I do think that the hash brown was expensive and should have been included in the price.
I have just been in hospital and let’s just say that the hospital I was in have a lot of work to do with regards to vegan diets. On my first day I was offered a tuna sandwich as the catering staff were under the impression that this was vegan! There were no specific vegan meals offered - I had to ‘cherry pick’ items off the main menu. Thank you for your review.
I've recently been in hospital there was nothing vegan on menus- and I was offered an egg mayonnaise sandwich and told that's all there was veggie on offer ! Luckily (in a strange way) for me i wasnt hungry anyway - let's just say it was a good kick start to a weight loss regime!
Just over 10yrs ago, I broke my hip & was in the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.... I was so lucky as they were able to provide wonderful vegan options.... 💖
Yeah hospitals need to catch up quickly, the health benefits alone should make vegan meals a constant thing.
@@StephanieWoodcock That’s wonderful Stephanie
I think you should contact the manager about the exclusion of the Hash Brown. If it's on the other veggie and death eater breakfast then it should be on the vegan one too
We've tweeted
I think your brilliant you too X
Great to know Tesco do a vegan brekkie 😋. Harvester do a great vegan brekkie that I highly recommend.
Good to know
Good afternoon those vegan guys,
Now, I loved watching you both enjoy a nice healthy, hearty breakfast out, it is certainly nice to have a treat from time to time, I was considering a vegan breakfast a few months in the Tesco store cafe, of my local Tesco, but I considered ordering it and either getting it delivered to my home, then I thought I would make a better breakfast, so never had one to date, but will definitely try it, when money is better for me and circumstances change financially.
In conclusion, I do prefer a cereal breakfast to be fair, but I love that you both are adhering to your nutritional needs and not skipping breakfast as breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after a fast all night and I am sure you both are thoroughly aware of this factor hence why you wanted to show one your breakfast meal, and I thoroughly thank you for this factor as it lets me know how much roughly I need to put down and aside for the meal, I particularly loved the avocado 🥑 🥑 part of the meal with toast, so refreshing I find, what do you both think ?🤔 🤔
All in all, once again, thank you for taking the time to share your journey with health, nutrition vegan lifestyle with one, this is great, and thoroughly appreciated.
Frankie and Benny's are supposed to do a brilliant breakfast including scrambled tofu hash browns and avocado xx
Good point on the hash brown not being included, I will forward this to the relevant people at Tesco as it does seem a bit unfair and be a better value breakfast with the hash brown included. Coffee wise the Tesco Cafe is hard beat. Peace and love guys. x
We've tweeted this, with a query so hopfully they'll take note. Was gutted that the coffee was so weak too
@@ThoseVeganGuys Sorry it wasn't as good as it could of been. On the house from me for you guys if you're ever in Lincoln. x
Very nice video guy's i've never tried a breakfast at Tesco might try Morrieson one day instead stay safe and have a lovely weekend both of you.
The lady in the background from 2:10 was very interested in the camera 😂
LOL
@@ThoseVeganGuys Bless her 😂😂
Having breakfast with you both was a lovely treat. I just had porridge so am feeling quite jealous though. Well done Jason for trying the mushroom even though you looked like a reluctant toddler 😆x
Love you both ,Paul you look so tired my love xxx please take care xxx
That's three months of pride shows for ya. lol
Hiya luvs..haha..just found you guys recently, binge watching your videos, brekki looks ok
This looks gorgeous, I’m going to try making my own in the morning as I don’t live near any supermarkets, make a change from porridge.
Homemade is always better, but we tend to have a brinner mostly, rarely cook it for brekkie. x
@@ThoseVeganGuys I know what you are saying, I grabbed a banana this morning, going to try and make it for lunch. ENJOY the sunshine today 🌞
Lovely surprise vlog today and we'll deserved treat for you both. Looked good but abit pricey I think. Agree with Jason that Morrisons has the edge
We get absolutely fleeced when it comes to drink prices, I quit coffee a few months ago and have saved a small fortune whilst out.
The prices places charge for coffee is an absolute rort. (Not a coffee drinker.)
Seems pretty up there in price for what it is, especially given some of the ‘extras’ are in standard. Can’t say I’ve tried either to be honest but both tescos and Morrisons look lovely x
Ha ha jasons scowl at the mushroom .i scowled at baked beans 😂😂😂
LOL
Great vlog guys. Absolutely agree with the many voices here that a Full Cooked Breckie should always include hash browns. Have peeps heard that Heinz have just brought out hash browns with baked beans inside? I'd been down for that! 😋😋
Who hasn't heard? LOL. Looking forward to trying them ourselves.
That looked like a lovely treat, why is coffee so expensive in cafes? Agreed about the hash browns, it's not a breakfast without hash browns in my opinion.
Unfortunately the portion size has got smaller. The one on Huddersfield Road you went have bigger portion sizes than the Failsworth store. Beginning of the year you wouldn’t of needed a hash brown as it was filling enough.
Cafe americano which is what you ordered
in Italy is traditionally an espresso
in a massive amount of hot water
so they are traditionally quite weak.
Probably better to go for a double espresso
or an actual filter coffee instead
if they do those.
Americano, which is our regular order everywhere, over here is nice strength black coffee. This one was the weakest I ever had.
@@ThoseVeganGuys
I haven't had an americano on Britain
I generally go for a filter coffee
or a coffee press version
or before going on a shopping trip
in London
I used to have a quadruple espresso
in the railway station on arrival
before embarking on shopping.
oat milk is gorg milk i swear by it , looks like a lovely breckie guys xxxx enjoy
We make it at home with our almond cow, a beautiful gift from a subscriber. X
Hash browns should absolutely behave been included
Unlike Morrisons, Tesco's cafes are run by a different company so the food isn't Tesco's my Mum used to work in the Bury one that is now a Costa I'm pretty sure ASDA cafe is also run by a different company and not ASDA also it's really baffling you know the cleaning staff at ASDA they're called ASDA ACES and they work for a different company the cleaning staff don't get the 10% discount double discount days at xmas I always thought that was unfair. But fancy being a place that sells food and getting outsiders to run their cafes.
£2.70 for an americano and 95p for a hash brown is daylight robbery, but the breakfast itself did look yummy and reasonably priced :)
I'm coming to the UK next month so I might do this just for the sheer novelty of it ha! Nuthin' more Bri'ish than Tesco's right?
95p for a farty little hash brown... you can buy a whole bag for that in Lidl! What a swizz!
I wonder if they would have let Jason swap the mushroom for a hash brown? Similar cost and worth asking for if you don't like mushrooms 🤷
He did, but they're not included.
Jason's face at the mushroom 😂😂😂. And Paul smirking when he says the mushrooms gorgeous. You guys crack me up.
He may even have enjoyed the bit he had.
@@ThoseVeganGuys never 😂
Have you tried a Wetherspoon’s vegan breakfast? Good value for money £4.15
Someone else has mentioned them too further down. We stopped going to them due to the owners support and constant pushing for brexit - so quite a few years we haven't been.
@@ThoseVeganGuys There are a lot of places that treated their workers badly and still do! However, it’s a good breakfast with cheap refillable drinks xx
🧡
Hello, guys. This comment is a little off topic but I've felt 'it IS rude not to' share some information I've recently come across. Often listed in ingredients is the term 'natural flavors'. Lazy as I am, I finally got around to investigating what those natural flavors are, and I was quite surprised by what I learned. Here in the U.S. there is a federal department, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), that in simplest terms oversees quality, safety, etc. Their explanation: " The FDA defines a natural flavor as a substance extracted, distilled or similarly derived from plant or animal matter, either as is or after it has been roasted, heated or fermented, and whose function is for flavor, not nutrition. Foods that should be vegetarian can include flavors that are derived from animals, and foods can have flavors that outwardly have nothing to do with the food involved. An example of these incongruities is wine that includes traces of eggs or fish."
As a watcher of your shopping vlogs, I then wondered if the prepared foods that you consume could have this issue. So I looked up a couple of products named in a recent vlog and there it was in the ingredient lists: 'natural flavours'. So the point of this message is to inquire if the U.K. has a similar overseer of food products and, if so, do they define what those 'natural flavors' can be from? If I'm out of line, please do forgive, but my conscience has been nagging me to share what I learned just in case it could be something you were not aware of. It is possible to be a little too trusting. I admire you and your convictions. You seem just genuine and down to earth folks whose vlogs I enjoy (especially the allotment ones). Be well!
Hi June, if something is clearly marked vegan then those 'natural flavours' must also be vegan. Thas by and large the case over here anyway. x
Just catching up, great video. Will have to investigate soon, to see if hash brown now included. Well done for asking for it. General lack of thought for vegans, or lack of awareness or something. The overpricing reminds me of the NHS canteens, charging by the item, bloomin half a tomato charged as one, etc. Don't start me on football stadiums, my local club don't even offer vegetarian, other than "let them know if you're coming" if going to hospitality, nout in kiosks. When I emailed asking for the menu they said they didn't have one. I voted with my feet, stinking attitudes. Forrest green rovers meant to be all vegan. Things must improve.
They did add them not long after this
Proper brekkie needs fried bread!!! 💖
Completely disagree, although admittedly delicious it's just so bad for you. Crispy bread saturated with hot fat.
@@ThoseVeganGuys I want fried bread now.... 😂😂😂
95p for a hash brown 😭 and where was the “bacon” ?!
It looks good but quite pricey for a supermarket breakfast.
Agreed
👉🍄😐 LOL
Wow 95p for one hash brown is disgusting, I wouldn’t have bought one! It should definitely be included in the price but I’m glad you both enjoyed it, even the mushroom Jason, it made me laugh when you smelt it!!x
It is a bit much isn't it
50p would be more acceptable but still should be included
I think that’s very overpriced guys. Wtf is going on ? I think it is mean spirited of them about the hash browns also, and they should include something like a scrambled tofu, to make it a true vegan breakfast. For that price anyway.
I can’t believe the hash browns aren’t included. How rude !
Great teview
Right?
