Outstanding engineering for that time, when I wasn't even born yet... I was lucky to see one of these at Smithsonian Uzvar at DC. Now eager to visit Air Zoo
What a Great person, humble, recognise others contribution, respect his partners.
This is just amazing to think these planes were designed and first flown in 1963. Great video thanks for sharing.
Indeed. He asks why it's not a glass cockpit at the end, and I'm thinking to myself "Cause ICs literally didn't exist?" So incredible. This is such a good walkthrough, too.
This is so much cooler than the Cessna 172 I used to fly 😅
A bit more expensive too.
Nice!
very nice
First
I love your sr71 videos
Air Force girl pilots back then ? News to me !!!!!!!!!!!
Steam instruments, cables, control surfaces, projector ... yep, it's how it's done.
Thank you guys for posting! Anyone know what question was asked at 29:55 and 51:50?
First question was about pilots selection requirement being married, & 2nd Q was about difficulty in refueling
@@javiermachin1 thank you
The rumor is all SR-71 pilots had to be married as there was a less likelihood chance the pilot would deflect to a communist country like Russia since they would be less likely to leave their wife and family. Looks like that rumor has been put to rest in this video.
Sensas!
Space ship
What a crude machine. still better than a Mig 25
And thats why we all cant go past the current Mach limits ........."No nitrogen gas",..........can now see why they went Electromagnetic engines
Imagine the Russians seeing this in the 60s
