  • This is my short initial review of the Lee APP (Automatic Processing Press). I will disclose I am not usually a fan of Lee presses but after reading many reviews and watching many videos I decided to give it a try!
My first impressions so far are very good, as usual Lee did not disappoint me with the cheap feeling plastic parts but they seem adequate all the same and I am otherwise impressed with the press and look forward to adding more accessories as they come in and I will make an updated video.
As for now, do not hesitate to purchase this press for processing, The press I bought was the deluxe version that included the three X-Press pass through shell holders, bullet/case tubes etc. Lee Part # 90933

I have three Lee Reloading presses along with others RCBS, Hornady excetera, I've never had any trouble with Lee you break any of the plastic parts they just replace it for you no charge. I think they're warranties about as good as any going out there just my opinion take it for what it's worth.

I have bought every brand. And I've never had any problem with the lee stuff. I did have a big problem with a Redding match grade die set. They fixed it. Every company makes mistakes

Question: Why would you purchase this press when on your Lee Load Master and the Lee Turret press ( if you are using the Lee product line) does the same thing? This means you would be handling the brass twice??? twice as much work. For me the only benefit would be in sizing case bullets.
    Just an observation.
    Good job on the revue.
    Thanks

I have two Hornady Progressive presses, same premise. Lots of guys deprime and size separately me included, I make sure my brass is clean before it goes into my sizing dies and I do not clean until its deprimed so my primer pockets are cleaned. After that if its rifle brass I size, trim then clean the sizing lube...then load. In addition if I want to swage my crimped brass which is what I mostly buy (military once fired) I have to have two swage kits for the progressive press, one for small and one for large primers...they are 90 bucks each...this entire press was around 75.00 delivered to my door and 39.00 for the Lee deprime / swage kit. Not to mention this keeps me from having to change my dies out so much and saves wear and tear on my more expensive presses. And as you mentioned...it makes very quick work of bullet busting.

Great review! I love my little APP press. I always decap all my brass and wet tumble first and the APP press has made that job much simpler and 100 times faster. I use the collator and crank through cases like crazy and it's actually fun too 😉 I didn't have very good results using the swaging kit though. I used a go-no-go gauge and I would say 30% didn't pass. I ended up going with a Dillan Super swager instead. But for decapping, the APP is the ticket! 👍 Curious of your results with the swaging kit?

the molds to make those plastic parts are VERY expensive!

Yes, but the cost per piece is much, much lower than cast or machined metal, which is cheaper by far over a production run. Ergo, Cheap. There is a great reason why comp shooters use mostly blue presses.
