Yeah they were all kinda stretching it with their choices but that Ryuk was genuinely cursed.
Honestly that was my only issue with the special, they should have choose multiple options with each challenge. Then talk it out amongsth themselves before picking their best options before the poll. Would have loved Joey and Conner's reaction to the Ryuk statue. Honestly though this was a wonderful video irregardless.
I really thought he would pick Ryuk or Anya atleast. He played Gacha with a Gacha figure.

Nope. Maybe sculpt seems detailed, but the work done into the paint job and masking required to paint and amount of parts... there's no comparison.

Garnt and Connor at this point just have a bigger fanbase than Joey and Joey has more knowledge of niche anime whereas Garnt and Connor appeal more to the masses. So honestly Garnt and Connor are just kind of easy picks. I would be interested in them doing this video again but maybe have some of their friends or like figure experts or something vote for which one they find best suited for the categories.

I don’t know if the Fate figure was simply because of “down bad” or just how Connor pitched it well, saying it was not just faithful, but architecturally designed.
It had incredibly good and detailed paint job with many details and shading... it wasn't just well sculpted.
I mean, there was a lot of details, because it was large and had a lot of 'extra bits', but if you are measuring the microns between sculpted details, the other two would have to take it.
But still, it's Hokusai, I would have disregarded the challenge too.
This only makes my need for an actual Figure Special bigger

I know its probably more expensive, but I preferred the old style where it involves multiple stores and decorating the room plus unique challenges for each person at each store. led to more variety and more goofy figures also

Why is ASTOP so expensive? Legit you can pick up most of the ones showcased here for less than half the price almost anywhere else in japan. Some, like C.C. are still on shelves for retail in amiami.

He said that Ningguang is $1000 bucks. Meanwhile I glance at AmiAmi and it's $200 new. So I have no idea what the difference is between the stores.
Based on what they said, I guess it's just what the resellers want to price their boxes. Probably trying to bait foreign travelers into buying them for ridiculous prices.
I got the exact Genshin Lisa's gachapon figure for 5 usd, Garnt got robbed 50 usd is beyond war crime 😂

Watching this after watching the first or second figure special is giving me a heart attack just by comparing these prices. It's crazy how expensive the figures got in so little time. I think it might be more affordable to take sculpting classes and make them myself out of clay.

As a figure collector I will say that in reality they are no where near this bad. This store insanely overprices the majority of their figures, seems like most of the people buying those cases to resell figures are scalpers

@@stoic3636 figure prices definitely have been a little bit crazy but my point was that even taking into account aftermarket prices the majority of these figures prices in this store are much higher than what they usually sell for and not worth it since you can find it for much cheaper online/in other stores
