    This is probably the one technique in Jiu-Jitsu I'd describe as evil. I drilled this after seeing this demonstration and I can't put into words how utterly devastating and catastrophic this would be against someone who doesn't respect it and taps instantly. Don't do this to your training partners UNLESS they know about it. For the love of God.

    I remember the video with Lachlan Giles (big respect) re: hill hooks, where Bernardo asked him to "Put it on so I can feel it".. There was no need for it here... BJJ keeps evolving. Thanks for sharing this Mikey. Hopefully people will train and apply this wisely .. ;)

    It also appears that striking distance is widened (between your fist and his head) possible making it safer to go after the lock in an MMA scenario.

    One natural counter to this move would be to rub your feet with Garlic (or some other reeking substance). Seriously now, ppl please wash your feet before training so this move could be practiced without reservations :)

    "The Musumeci" is a much better name for it. "The Mikey lock" is kind of a dumb name. Musumeci sounds badass like Kimura. Lost opportunity.

    You know the thing is it’s really different when you have different sizes of people when you’re trying to get this because sometimes like they’re like so small I can’t get back down. I have to sit up and get it to my face where we would’ve been perfect to go right to that Hill hook, but I was trying to different ways and I was trying to also from lockdown where you can push them over and then go back and go out the back door. It automatically goes there and then just using that same position but backwards, I’ll have to video it

    imagine catching someone with this when he's wearing shoes with all the shoe material to latch and hold on to. And the entry is not as complicated as others.
    I imagine in an actual 1on1 fight you're gonna have to literally shout your break warning so the other guy hears you just coz you're way far down his legs. Lol

    Get yourself a rolling partner as exited and open minded about bjj as Bernado but more importantly be as excited and opened minded about bjj as Bernado. He is the adage of no matter how much you know your always a student.
