Fun fact: when The Butthole Surfer's song Pepper was getting played on pop radio back in the 90s, the DJs couldn't say the band name. They had to call them "The B-hole surfers".
Casey Kasem would call them the BH Surfers. Honestly, choosing that name should have guaranteed them no mainstream radio play, which I'm sure would have been fine with them, then along comes some praise from Kurt Cobain and the world gets stood on its head. The '90s were wild.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is one of the worst band names, imo. It sounds like something a theater kid who says shit like "You sir, have won the internet today" came up with.
For real, I was so confused when I got them on shuffle 😭

i'd say the worst is the one that was intended to be the worst, 60 Wrong Sausages. Weezer is an inherently funny word but it fits their sound well, and Rivers Cuomo looks exactly like a guy who'd be named Rivers Cuomo

@@GredelsRageWitch House is a subgenre of EDM that had a moment in the early 2010's. it typically has a psychedelic feeling to it, making use of trap drum beats and high, airy synths. it's called Witch House because many artists use occult and horror elements in their visuals.
starting around 2018, hyperpop is (in my opinion) the beginnings of an entire new lane of music, combining things from just about every genre you can think of. much of hyperpop uses glitchy/twitchy distorted synths, trap beats, and heavily autotuned and pitched-up vocals. but hyperpop can also include elements of pop-punk, metal, dubstep/rave, industrial, video game music, you name it. and of course, there's a throughline of appreciation for the catchiness of typical pop music. hyperpop is more of a mindset than a genre, although there's still plenty of music that can only be called hyperpop.

As for Limp Bizkit and the way it makes us all feel, in the Jojo manga there was a character named after the band, but for copyright reasons, in the English localization of the manga, the character is named Flaccid Pancake
Everything Everything directly inspiring their name off of a Radiohead song kind of comes full circle, because Radiohead's name comes directly from a Talking Heads song

The name "Car seat headrest" was inspired by the fact that Will Toledo would record the vocals for his songs in his car for the sake of privacy, a fact that is illuded to in the song "not just what I needed" off of the album "Teens of Denial"

When I saw the title my mind instantly went to Crywank. Like does it make sense with the music they make? Absolutely! Is it an awkward experience trying to recommend them to people? Absolutely!

the best part is that i already recommend shit like Goreshit, Odaxelagnia (please listen to their mashcore its so good), and Femtanyl (trying to suggest her music to people in person is hell) so Crywank is to normal compared to that.

I got an idea for band name content. Bands that people confuse for other bands. Forgive me if you already have one but some examples could be Candlebox/Collective Soul, Toadies/Toad the Wet Sprocket(bad band name). But Some are completely different with no matching words and multiple people still confuse the two. I find it intriguing like a Freudian slip or cryptomnesia

Limp Bizkit was a game in the 90’s. Guys would gather around a biscuit, whip it out and….the last guy to….had to EAT THE BISCUIT!!!! I heard rumors about the game, but have never known a guy who actually played it.

What about “The Foreskins”? They were a “British punk” band in the sixties and seventies that were notably “skin heads” also there were four of them so it made the name perfect.
Here’s a 60s British band name: Dave Dee Beaky Dozy mick and Titch. It’s genuinely one of my favourite band names but it’s mad. I actually think Lightbulb is a great name for a band, there’s a band called First Aid kit already.
Teen Suicide’s name makes a lotta sense for their music subject matter and vibes, but i was genuinely confused when i first started listening to them about if it was really the band name or not, lmao.
