Note at 1:55 the knock sensor senses for pre-ignition knock, not crankshaft knock. Pre-ignition is an uncontrolled combustion event which occurs before the spark event. Knock (pinging) is the actual noise that can be audibly heard if detonation is bad enough. Most OEM knock sensors are basically microphones tuned to listen for a specific frequency to detect this noise. In any case it is a good work around for a failed sensor or wiring harness to the sensor. Just be observant and don't ignore any pre-ignition knock, it can destroy an engine.
I was having this problem on a 4 cylinder Camry. I replaced the knock sensor behind the intake but still had the code and wouldn't run well or transmission shit to high. I tried to relocate mine on the body away from the engine but still got code. Your video and another by Eric the Car Guy made me realize that the sensor has to feel some vibration from the engine or it will still throw the code. I relocated it like u did and finally the code went away and is running good. I still don't know why with the sensor in the engine it kept throwing the code. The engine runs smooth with no noticeable vibration. Thanks
Where’s the ground wire coming from the harness. The green wire is connect to what. I just did this and my harness has 4 prongs but only 2 wires coming out.

When the knock gets REALLY LOUD
With this modification it's recommended to run 91 octane as the engine will no longer be able to properly detect detonation (knock).
