I love how you can hear her voice over everyone's in every song
it's because she has a strong prominent and distinctive voice, but you're also instinctively searching for her voice. Say you're searching for Robert's voice, if you focus enough you're able to hear his voice in an ensemble. Its really interesting to me sorry lolol

Idk a lot of the time during the show I wasn't searching for her voice and enjoying the show but could just hear her voice over everyone else's.
I think it’s because in some songs, her voice is higher than anyone else’s. That makes it more distinctive. For example, when singing with Jeff, Joey or Robert, it’s going to be much more distinctive because they’re singing lower notes. Idk how to explain it?
She has a very strong vibrato which makes her voice louder and so you’ll hear it over other’s voices

it's interesting actually that mariah was one of the few people who didn't have a super prominent main role, like emma, charlotte, bill, ted, paul, hidgens, etc. all her characters, (like jeff's) were secondary walk-ons there for only a scene or two, and yet she has the most solos of any of the three women, which i like that this show really shows off the three women's different ranges. like lauren is leading almost every dance, jamie is acting in a wide range of roles, and mariah is crushing it with her voice. starkid is really great at showcasing everyone equally which isn't something you get to see much in theatre.
And Jon with his acting! His voice was also was amazing though.
Magical Molly 1000% agreed everyone gets to shine in their own way and show their talents whether it’s through acting, singing, dancing, some, or all. starkid really out there doing each cast member justice
That's how I felt about Twisted. That one had four new cast members (Robert, Rachael, Alex Paul, and Nick Gage). Rachael was a lead and Nick had two major comedy characters, but Robert and Alex were both ensemble members. The opening number features Robert, Alex, and Nick extensively almost in order to introduce them to the StarKid audience.
Ian also, in twisted, Robert was towards the front in almost all of the dancing sequences although he was just in the ensemble

Honestly, I think Not Your Seed SHOULD be first, but it's really just a matter of opinion. I dunno, Mariah puts so much emotion into her voice for Not Your Seed that it edges out the gorgeousness of La Dee Da Da Day.

joanna i think it’s cuz it’s not an official song on the soundtrack which means it doesn’t count
i really love her singing in the beginning of inevitable because i feel like she's singing what EMMA is supposed to be singing. It's a duet between the two of them, but Emma won't sing, so she fills in for her. Which makes the song even more terrifying.
Almost like they're trying to trick her into joining by making her feel special when in reality, to the aliens, she's actually very replaceable.

What makes me so happy about starkid is that every single member, even the ones who dont appear often, get major appreciation. Like with Robert Manion, when he first was in Twisted, it was his first show and he didn't have a huge role, but everyone LOVED him and gave him so much praise. Same with Mariah, this is her first (I think) official starkid show, and instead of everyone being like "lol who's this they should've got **insert starkid girl** instead" everyone was like "holy shit this girl is amazing". Just one of the many things I love about the starkid fandom

I think she might be some kind of benevolent witch/other supernatural being with magical abilities. Exhibit A: This morning I woke up to a notification that she had retweeted a picture of my dog saying "I need you to be protected at all costs." I joked that we'd been blessed by Mariah. It ended up not being a joke as I suddenly had a surge of ability to have the most productive day I've had in a long time, despite being very sick. I think that Mariah was pleased by the image of my puppy and did truly bless me with her magical abilities. Exhibit B: This video of her vocals.
