- Ice Age Dawn of The Dinosaurs Reaction is today's video!
Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs today for the first time!
After Sid (John Alberto Leguizamo) pilfers some dinosaur eggs, Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and the rest of their prehistoric pals enter a mysterious, underground world to rescue the hapless sloth. During the course of their mission, the gang encounters many creatures great and small, including hungry carnivores and a relentless, dinosaur-hunting weasel named Buck.

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching my Reaction to Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs! Yes I am feeling a little better and should be good to start recording again. Jurassic Park Full Reaction is up on Patreon and will be on RUclips Friday! Thanks again!
You should watch Horton Hears a Who! The creators of Ice Age and Rio made that one!!
Can you do the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies soon?
Not interested in Alvin and the chipmunks sorry
Cannot wait
Will you be doing the other 2 films?
Scratte is one of my most favorite characters in the Ice Age films! I like how in each situation, she somehow gets the upper hand on Scrat in getting the acorn, with her wits and flying skills. She’s a regular “clever girl.” 😉
I see what you did there 😄
Me too.
I always felt bad for her. She was finally able to get over her acorn “addiction” and wanted to be with Scrat, but he still spiralled back down and abandoned her for his obsession in the end…
@@purpleemerald5299 Yeah, that was unfortunate.
Wait her name is Scratte? 😂
"It's so weird, a sloth with a dinosaur. Can't do it."
Well it can't be any weirder than a donkey with a dragon.
Yeah, or even quetzalcoatlus with a bionic hamster.
@@cyberdalek615 wait which movie are u referring to 😂
@@jayngb not a movie, it’s Captain Underpants. Half way through the book series, the main characters end up adopting those animals and one of them ends up pregnant later on...so you do the math.
@@cyberdalek615 Holy moly nostalgia hit me like a charging bull 😭 I love Captain Underpants, and yes it was strange that Sulu managed to breed with Crackers 😅 probably only possible due to Sulu being a bionic cyborg
@@selachian6799fr. George and Harold's reaction said it all.
*Not so fun fact:* Paleontologists have a theory that sabretooth tigers were extinct because the environment adapted around them. The slow moving big preys were gone, and the only ones were smaller, but faster herbivores, so they just couldn't keep up the pace. They couldn't feed their cubs, so the species were slowly starved to death.
That sounds awful! I almost like the theory of them being hunted to extinction better!
@@juliaroth4855 That was part of it, yes.
I remember that theory being explained in one episode of Prehistoric Park. And I agree, that's a really sad and cruel way to become extinct...
@@leaness98 Yep, yep, I know it from there too.
Yeah that’s the most likely reason
Rudy is actually an albino baryonyx. He was originally going to be a spinosaurus but was changed to avoid being too similar to Jp III. Normally a baryonix is smaller than a T. Rex, length-wise, so they made Rudy bigger through sheer size.
Also, Rudy is also based on the original Jurassic Park 3’s Baryonyx. Some say he was a Suchomimus because of his size, but that’s not true.
@@prehistorichero2755 not with that sail, Spinosaurus Aegypticus.
@@JWeb66 I’m actually talking about the production of JP3, not the final version.

Hi dress’s dads
Of course Manny would be overprotective. You wouldn't expect anything less after what he's went through.
I'm usually not a fan of the "over protective dad" trope because a lot of times there's no reason for it, but Manny has a good reason to be as protective as he is
@@guardian6788 The funny thing is he never told peaches or Ellie about his past or the fact that he had a past family
@@rainpuppy14 well, he probably did but it's not shown
@@rainpuppy14, wait who was Manny’s past wife
@@xoxo_diya unknown. But in the first movie was implying that his previous wife and daughter were killed by humans. Which was why he was so grumpy.
16:12 Manny: "Don't ever yabba-dabba-do that again."
Omg that line made me burst out in laughter 🤣
And since the Flintstones and Ice Age technically take place in prehistoric times, it makes sense. 🤣
18:36 Ouch. Poor Scrat.
26:52 Omg, Scrat just gets beat up throughout the franchise. He seriously can't get a break.
"Now we're already pregnant. We move fast in the ice age."
Lol, well, presuming mammoths were like elephants, their gestation period was 22 months, so Ellie was pregnant for almost two years (which I can't even imagine the horror of 😱😂). Maybe they move fast because they move so slow 😂😂
The time jump in movie 4 & 5 will probably give him whiplash. 😄
Ice age 2 (2006) Ice age 3 (2009). So She was pregnant in 2007
@@angrymanwithsillymoustasche exactly! I figured that out in 2016, a couple months after the fifth one. She got pregnant on September 2007 after Manny had sex with her for the first time.

Summer season and Autumn season. That's their mating season
what are these replies
I actually liked Scrat and Scratte together, I think they could've worked. And if you pay attention, during the song "Alone Again (Naturally)" where the acorn "looks sad", it's the only time in the entire series where Scrat didn't get hurt or got into a bad situation. Only when he was actually away from his acorn and with Scratte did he really feal truly happy. It's kind of a sad little detail (that's probably not intentional).
Also, Rudy is an unnaturally large albino baryonyx in case you didn't know.
And fun fact: Rudy was based on the original Jurassic Park 3’s Baryonyx.
@@prehistorichero2755 that was a spinosaurus. I dont think the bary appeared before FK
@@radekvaverka2853 I know it’s a Spinosaurus, I’m actually talking about the production of the movie, not the final version.
@@prehistorichero2755 wait, they were planning the Bary? Oh my, I would have loved to see it, if only as a cameo instead of the Ceratosaurus. Its one of my favorite dinosaurs.
@@radekvaverka2853 Yeah, originally, the Ceratosaurus was supposed to be a Carnotaurus too.
The reason Mummy dinosaur is scared of Rudy it’s because there’s a small chance he may have killed her mate
That was sad.
..or because he’s much bigger…plus…we don’t even know who her mate was, or what happened to him.
@@gaaratf2fanboy76 Male dinosaurs are bigger because dinosaurs are related to birds besides birds of prey. Which is why the indoraptor was made male in fallen kingdom
I don’t know if mama dinosaur is afraid of Rudy, but she was afraid of him to eat her kids. Notice Momma dinosaur does a good job on distracting her kids from being scared of the dangers around them
@@desmondedwards8234its the opposite
Saber tooth tigers weren't built for chasing due to their stubby legs and only relied on sneaking and pouncing. They make up stealth for their lack of speed and only ran 30 miles per hour.
No wonder they went extinct
@@HarmonyOC exactly what I thought 💀
I remember seeing this with my mom and we were the only ones in the theater🤣 It was awesome!
To this day, Mom can’t stop cracking up at “Stop laughing! All of you!” Of course, she can’t remember where she heard it from because she saw the movie one time🤣
As hippos, elephants, bulls, moose and rhinos have taught me anything, it’s never judge an animal’s vibe by their diet.
I'm glad that you liked this one. I love Buck and the fact that Manny finally gets to be a father again after so much sorrow and tragedy in his life. Ellie was a badass in this one too. But Diego still remains my favorite. I've heard many people say that first three are the best ones and in the last two the quality decreases, but the fourth one is actually my second favorite in this franchise. I really also like the fifth one for a little different reasons. Can't wait to see what you think of them. Thank you for this reaction.
I like the last two as well. The last definitely wasn't my favorite, but it was genuinely enjoyable
“Ellie was a badass in this one too”? She hardly hasn’t done ANYTHING!!!!
@@King-lb4pi She wanted to help Sid like everyone else, was clever and realistic and proved that she can handle herself despite everyone worrying over her since she was pregnant (I understand Manny's worry to a certain point, because of what happened to his family, but he was really, really overprotective and narrow-minded at times). She distracted the dinosaur so they could move forward, literally saved everyone's lives at the Chasm of Death (since without her help, they would've probably literally died of laughter) and gave birth while helping Diego to fight against the dinosaurs (giving birth in safe circumstances is already a huge effort in itself, let alone in this kind of situation). All of that sounds really badass to me. But everyone has the right to their own opinions, of course. :)
@@juliapakarinen7956 I mean what I really want from her once, just once, she can join the fight instead of being on the sidelines or stayed in one position. With the birth part, do you know what would’ve been badass about it from her? She would’ve gotten up to fight the guanlongs with her trunk and stomping on their heads with her feet. I know Peaches is in the middle of getting out of her vagina, but Ellie can still hold them off and give this ‘pushing’ a rest for a bit. When all of that’s over, she can continue birthing her while standing and also lying down. And yeah, she did help twice, for going forward to get a dinosaur’s attention and save the others from laughing until dead. But throughout the franchise, she’s done nothing. She got trapped in a cave all because of that argument, stayed with Peaches in the cave while the original trio and Buck fight Rudy, she got strapped on an ice rock, she stomped on that rabbit, that wasn’t enough, she almost got slaughtered by Gutt and Peaches saved her swing-kicking him, and both of them didn’t help Manny and Julian get the rock into the volcano. All I ever wanted from her is to join in a fight with her family as a redemption of what she was doing throughout this franchise. But instead, the sixth film came into play, and it didn’t go very well at all.
@@King-lb4pi Yeah, I understand where you are coming from. Haven't seen the sixth one yet and I'm not sure if I even should, since I am the huge fan of the original voiceactors, and apparently they have been changed. Is there anything to look forward to in it?
" 'It's the wind. It's speaking to us.' 'What's it saying?' 'I don't know. I don't speak wind.'"
" 'Buck, when exactly did you loose your mind?' 'Three months ago. I woke up one morning married to a pineapple. An ugly pineapple. (Sigh) But I loved her.' "
" 'Were you killed?!' 'Sadly, yes. But I lived!' "
" 'So, why is this place called the Chasm of Death? ' 'Well we tried Big Smelly Crack, but that just made everybody giggle.' "
Lines that explain why I love Buck
The ankylosaurus seems to behave a lot like a rhino. Naturally peaceful, but the moment something moves they attack.
Indeed, there very territorial.
And to give movie credit, they do have herbivores being as dangerous as the carnivores instead of gentle giants. Even gentle giants, like elephants, are dangerous too.
@@thepowerfulwolfspirit.2581 and almost fully blind. that's a bad combo for an animal that big, as it can't tell predator from prey animal so they just go after everything just to be safe
Probably because they might have had poor eyesight like Rhinos , so just in case the thing that they are seeing move is a threat , they attack ?

The “flightless bird” is an Archaeopteryx. And the “other bird” that got him is a Pteranodon.
Wait, if this is an Archaeopteryx, how come this animal can’t fly like a real-life animal? Did Mamma Rex crippled its wings with her mouth?
@@prehistorichero2755 It can't fly basically because it's like modern day penguins and ostriches. Its bones aren't hollow enough to make it be able to fly.
@@zacharyfrierson6972 What if they glide?
@@prehistorichero2755 I think the Archaeopteryx was in fact able to glide. But that Archaeopteryx was clearly panicking so much that I think it just straight up forgot it could glide. Or maybe it hadn't learned how to do that yet.
@@zacharyfrierson6972 Good point.
This is my favorite sequel in the franchise because not only that it has dinosaurs, but I appreciate the character development, the story and the themes of friends and family that move forward, which is why dinosaurs were a thing in this movie as they were discovered by paleontologists that these animals have great parental care.
Also, Rudy was actually an oversized Baryonyx, which is based on the one from Jurassic Park 3’s original concept that was before changed to a Spinosaurus. Originally, Rudy is a Spinosaurus, but in order to avoid ripping off Jurassic Park 3, they decided to change the his species design and name for him.

I absolutely love Buck, he's hilarious.
Also, can't wait for you to see the 4th movie! Peter Dinklage (GOT Tyrion Lannister) voices someone in it! :D
Technically the mammal is known for having the biggest creature to ever exist that being the blue whale that can get up to 100ft and can get up to 330,000 lbs
This is my favorite, I remember watching the trailers for this movie when I was a kid and they were like the most epic thing that I saw at the time, (I'm not exaggerating) I still have the toys since 2009. I should also mention the video-game, damn, that game is freaking awesome, it also has one of the best video-games soundtrack that I ever heard.
This is my favorite Ice age movie. Love Buck
Buck is the best character

15:30 Do you remember the first time you saw a dinosaur, it’s like a miracle. Huge Jurassic Park reference
I love that new squirrel! 🐿️
Fun fact: the dinosaurs in this movie were super sized to really sell the danger and give them scale. In reality, full grown mammoths are about the size of full grown T rexs, if not just a little smaller.
Great to see you again cody. Hope you are feeling better. 👍
It's funny how we see more mammoths on the second movie but we only see more again on the fourth one.

Fun fact: this movie used to scare the crap out of me
There's a theme park in the UK called Alton Towers, and I remember in 2012 they set up a 4D theatre to promote Ice Age 4 with loads of Ice Age decorations. Inside they played some scenes from 3, but with snow and other effects in the theatre. It was really cool as a 7/8 year old lol.
Yes I know I’ve seen the ad for that I’m in the UK and I’ve actually been there not when that was around though
22:41 They laughed so much that they skull got a smile!
This is my favorite movie in the franchise, mainly because it has dinosaurs (which I was obsessed with as a kid), and Buck is my favorite character.
Ice Age 3 is my favorite :D
I'm glad that Rudy wasn't a letdown considering how much they were hyping him up
I wasn't expecting him to be that massive when I first watched the movie, I love Simon Pegg as Buck
Love The Flintstones refrence at 16:07 "Yabba-Dabba Do!" I saw the live action 1994 movie with John Goodman and I loved it LMFAO 🤣💕🦕
Scrat is one of the most favorite characters in Ice Age too
when the three main characters walked through the ice cave short cut in the first movie, the scene of Sid getting separated is a sneak peak into what movies in the series comes next.
Best way to celebrate my birthday by watching this awesome reaction!
18:34 comedic timing at it's finest 😂
This is my fav of the 5 that were made!
I've always wondered, where are the humans? The only references we have are Buck, Peaches, Manny and Ellie’s relationship, etc. But we never hear about the Humans from the first one, or Diego’s former pack, or The Fire King from the second one, etc.
They probably went extinct.
Cody you deserve an award you know that right
Can I just say that I love Buck and his VA. Simon Pegg plays three characters I love, and funnily enough, they sound nothing alike. Buck from this movie, Ogden Morrow from "Ready Player One," and skekSil the Chamberlain from Netflix's "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance."
Plus, all the movies in the Cornetto Trilogy. He's the star in all of them.
My favorite childhood parts were the laughing gas, scratt, and the "Peaches" code.
I love Buck he’s my favorite character, he’s so funny!
Out of all the movies in the franchise, Dawn of Dinosaurs has the most adult jokes.
This was the first Ice Age movie I ever saw and my most favorite in the franchise! It probably should have been nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score at least.

Great movie! I'd say this was a very big change of movie compared to the last 2, alot more action and alot less of the serious realistic stuff. It did technically have realistic moments but they were played out more silly and as jokes, it felt weird sometimes. I think the next movie did this type of action fantasy better, I'll stay tuned for that reaction 🔥

The dinosaurs in this movie are much bigger than they are supposed to be. A T. rex and Baryonyx (Rudy) should not be that much bigger than a mammoth. But these dinosaurs have been underground for the past 65 million years and probably kept evolving, and kept getting bigger.
