- www.video125.co.uk This is a Driver's eye view on board a traditional TGV Reseau (Regional) high speed train.
TGVs started running to Strasbourg concurrent with phase one of France's latest high speed line which opened in 2007, roughly two thirds of the way from Paris. In this Driver's eye view, we board train number 2424, the 1213 to Paris calling only at Saverne. Until the opening of phase two of the LGV (Ligne á Grand Vitesse) TGVs take the classic main line route enabling us to enjoy the best of both worlds and experience the contrast between the old and the new.
Roughly half the running time is on the classic line, taking us through a particularly scenic part of France over the Vosges mountains. We then join the start of the new line at Baudrecourt and accelerate up to the full line speed of 320 kmh (200 mph) the fastest in Europe. Our cameras follow the action in the cab, from the trackside and inside the LGV Est signal centre at Pagny Sur Moselle.
Written by Eurostar and TGV expert Mike Hill, narration is by Jonathan Kydd in English and by Yves Aubert in French (menu selection).
Stereo running time is 103 minutes.
Strasbourg to Paris is available mid-September on DVD and also in High Definition on Blu-ray
Fantastic video!!
Watch it often !!
WOW! ..the speed!
I love the interior of Strasbourg TGV station and the SNCF Train Announcenent jingle here really makes me feel like Iam in France; Well Iam actually just for this week.
At last, a train that is worth watching esp from the driver's perpective. Thank you, thank you.
Excellents video! Me like TGV Atlantique! Excellent train!!
I Just Bought It. & I'm Watching Marseille To Paris Right Now.
Impressionante l'accelerazione del treno, vista dalla cabina.
unbelieveable speed
Nice!
Fantastique
I am afraid that Strasbourg to Paris is not available to download currently. We are gradually adding titles as the opportunity arises but at the moment there are very few people availing themselves of this facility. We do, of course, despatch the DVDs and Blu-rays around the world. If outside the EU you do not have to pay VAT so the postage is virtually free. Our website is video125.co.uk
nice tgv train.
@isomolle : it's also 25kV but the pantograph is regulated at the tall of 5m08 because of wind...
2.22.....Some people are strange. They buy a lovely old timbered cottage right in the middle of the wild, peaceful and very beautiful Vosges mountains...20 feet from 2 of the fastest railway lines in Europe? Must have been one hell of an estate agent.
The TGV reseau isn't a regional train... It can go everywhere in France whereas the Atlantic Tgv is more regional than the Tgv reseau because we can take it just on the west side of France
Sadly, I understand that work has now stopped on the Portuguese high speed line...
Well done France
What is the voltage on the high speed line? You mention that it is 25 kV on normal line, i.e. the standard used in European countries such as Finland, Denmark and the UK. Some French lines are electrified at 3 kV DC. Could the line near Paris be such?
The First World War moved the goal posts back and forth.
Have you bought the DVD or Blu-ray?
I am alone to check that the map of France is wrong... Here is the map between 1880 and 1918 !
My apologies. My computer has decided to leave out the word "video" just to annoy. Got a mind of its own---- well not for long!
I agree with @Ravoring
Alsace isn't German anymore ;)
How can I download this video if I m not living in UK
All work on the Cyprus high speed link has now been suspended.
Pending the theft of more bank funds.
On line at video125.co.uk click on EUROPE down the left hand side.
How long does it take to go from Strasbourg to Paris?
Hmm right. Cheers.
Very good

France L M
It's the old Paris-Strasbourg line at 2:22, so the speed limit must be somewhere between 120 and 140 kph. The owners may have negociated a good deal, which is not necessarily a bad thing given the current housing prices in France. Or they could just be trainspotters!
0:55 : You have used a map of French territory in 1871 !!
English-speakers, please translate word ''runbys''.
Andrey Дрон A runby is is where the camera is beside the track watching the train go past.
David Balaam Thanks.
Where can I buy it?
