I was at North Sea Jazz in the Netherlands that time (1986). The Bluesbreakers gave a fine energetic performance there. Walter played the old songs so good. He played now a brilliant version of Stepping Out a fury instrumental with Eric Clapton on leadguitar on the original BluesBreakers recording. Wow... Walter hits the nail too. An the new stuff was great too. Walter is great guitar player. John Mayall has a special antenna for good guitarplayers.
I saw Mayall a few years ago, when he 84 yrs old! He put on a great show, and after the gig, he came out to the bandʻs merchandise table and shook hands, posed for pics and talked with everyone that was around! Class act! I had a feeling that he was helping his band members sell their own discs and recordings, i dont remember seeing any of his own merch. I didnʻt recognize any of his band members, who all looked to be in their late 20s and early 30s. His guitarist was really pushing his disc, and pointed out all the big time people that played on it, including Clapton, Page, Beck, etc, but iʻd never hears of this guy (it wasnʻt Walter Trout, ot Coco Montoya). But Mayall was very polite and humble, and kind of stepped aside so his guys could hustle their own recorded music!

Wow! That's saying something. Maybe you might like to check out Mr Mayall's discography, you might uncover a bit of competition. Try The "Beano" album (Clapton), "A hard Road" (Green), "Blues From Laurel Canyon" (Taylor). "Live Wires" (His most successful album) to name a few.
+huskvarsm I never could work out why some people make such stupid observations and silly comments? .... listen to the music and stop looking at his vest haha

Mr Trout Walter B
incredible is this the way they played.
I'm sure the lead guitar is Walter Trout.
Coco at the left and Walter at the right. Is it difficult?
Love Walter but Buddy at the 70th birthday party gives me chills on his Strat
Coco plays upside down like Albert King
From which year is that performance?
