George died in 2008, but from about 1970 to 2008, he released an album or an HBO special every couple of years with all new material. What you heard today was recorded in 2005, and his whole career, he told us how things really were, and still are. Much of his stuff is just hilarious, but most of it will also teach you things about reality at the same time. "Saving the Planet" is a great example. "Flying" and "On Some Cultural Issues" are both great, too. A true genius. RIP

Edit: I commented before the end of the video, I didn’t know this was your first time seeing George! There are too many great ones out there: Fussy Eater, Flying, Things We Have In Common, Free Floating Hostility, List of People Who Ought To Be Killed, Abortion/The Sanctity of Life, Religion is BS, Things You Never See, Driving Lessons, Ways to Keep People On Their Toes…. Seven Words You Can't Say On Television is another well-known masterpiece. Actually, once you start getting into George, you will find most of his rants are hilarious, thought-provoking, & as true as they are entertaining, even after all these years. Sadly George died in 2008. What you watched here is from '05 - 18 years ago. Scary & sad how true the words are today. Another piece by George you MUST see is his take on religion!! It's about the same here in the UK aswell. When I was at school 35 years ago we had a subject called "Understanding Industrial Society". Obviously we were the ones they needed to condition for being the obedient workers in manufacturing and warehousing.
This snippet of his stand up is the speech that is closest to describing the truth today as anyone I've heard. It's been 15 years though and it's only got even worse, not better.

I grew up with George Carlin on TV. When I was a kid, he was Mr. Conductor. Then when I was about 16, I learned he was a stand-up comic. My being his fan went to another level.

Back when Carlin was alive, he was often shunned and written off by the media as a "crackpot" for his views.

I love you guys and I love your reactions as always. George Carlin is my favorite standup comedian. He went through Catholic school and he always questioned what he was told so he always pursued the truth in his research. His classic routines were less of what he covered here and more about human behavior and language.

George wasn't just a comedian; he was a prophet. He's not "woke" (they hijacked and ruined that term), he's awakened.

There is an actual term for it, its called class-consciousness. When you realise that the capitalists have been lying to you since the day you were born. They made us think that life couldn't get any better than this. Massive red scare propaganda and McCarthy-ism demolished the labour movement of the USA. Luckily working people seem to be waking up, especially young people. We can make life so much better for everyone, but only if we remove the capitalists from the equation. Give the power to the people.

When i was a kid in the 70's and 80's the store were all different in each state.. n even towns! Thats what was so cool about leaving your state.. it was totally different, nothing was the same besides for mc donald's and b.b.k. n kfc... it was all different, even the cloths! The styles... now America is the same town after town city after city.. same everything n its sad.
