Loved The Goodbye Girl and Richard Dreyfuss & Marsha Mason were AMAZING!!!!! This made my day!!!!!! Marsha and Richard together was absolute gold. But Quinn was a killer actress and a great third to these two. Love the entire movie from end-to-end...and all should have won in 1977!!!!!
Thank you so much for this! As a little Nigerian Black American girl growing up in East New York, Brooklyn The Goodbye Girl was EVERYTHING to me. The genius writing of Neil Simon, the stellar performances of Marsha, Richard and Quinn. Seeing them all together like this kept a smile plastered on my face for an 1 hour and 7:40 minutes. THANK YOU for allowing me to relieve a classic and visit with old time cinematic friends. This episode was truly a GIFT!
This was such an influential movie for me in my life. I was 17 when I first saw this. One of my most favorite movies. My love for NYC just deepened. I had already been there as a 10 year old and then again as a 20 year old and then again as 22 and then I moved there for almost 7 years. Lived in the theater district, upper west side and the impression on my life is still there, LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie and still watch it numberous times. I am forever in love with this movie!! Exeptional writing, exceptional timing and the three actors.....FABULOUS!!! Thank you for this!
I have to share a cute story. Myself, mommy, daddy and brother three years my senior were all sitting in the theater watching the film. A young couple sat behind us. One of them looked at my mommy and they could see only her profile maybe she said OMG! Marsha Mason is sitting in front of us. My mommy did favor Ms. Mason. I was a little girl in love with Mr.Dreyfus. I wouldn’t dare tell my parents. I wanted to be everything like Quinn. Best child actress in the world in my opinion. I’m so happy to watch this interview. This made my day! Thank you all!!!
Love The Goodbye Girl so much, and it’s wonderful to see this reunion with Marsha, Richard and Quinn. I had the pleasure of meeting Quinn in 2012, and she’s a lovely, funny and warm person.
Everytime the theme song starts to play at the end of the movie, along with Paula's line of "I love you!", always brings tears to my eyes, everytime I watch the movie, it's crazy! :-)
Of all the movies i've seen in my long long life three stand out as magical, Cinema Paradiso, The Apartment, and The Goodbye GirI. I've been tempted to watch that fine actor Jeff Daniels's version but for me the Dreyfuss, Mason, Cummings one is so wonderful i feel no, leave perfection where it is. What was also so heart warming was what a lovely young woman Quinn has grown into and to have that superb artist Kelli O'hara make an appearance was just a cherry on top of the cake. Thanks boys for a real gem.
This version is best..have you seen The Best of Everything and The Heartbreak Kid Charles Gordon version..gosh.so many great flicks from that era.love to you and yours..Marcia in Modesto CA. 😂
Love this film with all my heart☺️♥️:)) Brilliant cast, screenplay, direction, cinematography….music…….it’s perfect to be watched and rewatched forever🥰🥰🥰:)))
I was 13yrs old when this movie came out and it is still one of my favorite and most memorable from my teenage years. Great fantastic cast and music really a lovely feel good movie.
I was 18 years old living in San Francisco when the Good Bye Girl came out and I went to see it at least twice and fell in love with it! Since then I’ve always been such a big fan of all the wonderful actors. Quinn Cummings character Lucy reminded me so much of my younger sister who was still back home. Good Bye Girl still one of my favorite movies.
Love this movie! I just finished watching on RUclips. I have seen it 25 times. I bought the DVD. Greatest reunion!!! Thank you! All of their performances are fabulous! ❤️🙏
One of my favorite movies of all time! I adore this script of Neil Simon's. Quinn was amazing! So adorable! I've always loved Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfus...always. I've watched this movie probably 20 times, at least. I used to have a "copy" of the script and could recite the whole movie myself.
Saw "The Goodbye Girl" during its original theatrical run! One of my favorite memories of that summer! (Still remember one of my favorite exchanges between Richard Dreyfus' & Marsha Mason's characters, taking place in his bedroom (w/him sitting on his bed strumming his guitar): "Elliott, are you decent?" "You're naked!" "But I'm decent") So happy to see this!!! Thank you!!!
Richard Dreyfuss…Every Movie that You Have Made…Is Outstanding!! We…The Popcorn Eaters Thank you!! So Many Fabulous Movies!! Such an Amazing Movie Star ;] Obsessed with Building a Mountain in his Livingroom in ‘CLOSE ENCOUNTERS’ Such a Phenomenal bit of Acting….This is How Good ‘CLOSE ENCOUNTERS’ is…I have The Movie on VHS, 3 on DVD & Still Watched it on T.V. With Commercials…Then went to the Local Movie Theatre to see it on the BIG Silver Screen for a Limited Anniversary Showing ;] Melinda Dillion Rocks ‘The CASBAH’
How I’ve just discovered these I don’t know but this one in particular was special. I was 12 when the movie came out - a very impressionable age for a girl regarding romance. In all these years no one has met the standard set by Neil Simon and brought to life by Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason. I’m like Kelli. Every time it’s on I watch it. Still cry every single time. Wish I could do things over and meet my Elliott. Genius. ♥️
Met Richard at an autograph show a year or so ago & reminded him of his role as "Mr. Schiff" in "Weeds." He smiled at the mention & said "thank you for remembering." Who could forget? He was truly delightful!
This was just SO great. Makes me want to instantly rewatch the film. And what a great thing to see who Quinn became. I was never a fan of Dreyfuss until this film, and hearing his comments and reminiscences gives me new admiration for him. The Gielgud story was quite moving.
This is really nice to be doing this for talent. I work behind the camera and boy things are tuff here in FL. No work period. 😔. Keep up the great work guys. The Good Buy Girl is In my library and I love it. Along with Jaws ,Close Encounters and all the best of the 70’s that I would go back to in a snap if I could.
Truly wonderful! I have an original poster of this beloved movie. Quinn ----- your contribution was so wonderful. And to Richard & Marsha --- you're an advance-version of soooooo many romantic comedies I love like (When Harry Met Sally, etc...) Congrats and thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. :-)
Thank you for this! I was 17 yrs old when this movie came out. I thought ALL of the cast was just brilliant. Richard D. Was so REAL and so vulnerable, he was just stunning during the entire movie! Marsha M. Was perfect, like any woman trying to find the RIGHT one. I wish I had a guy in a white tux dancing with me and singing to me. I think I need to watch it again!
Yes, Thank you Seth and James for putting this together. My Mom raised my sis and I on all the Neal Simon stuff but "The Goodbye Girl" was exceptional. It was on all the time on cable and I can quote all the lines from all the cast as a sort of one man play if I wanted to. So glad to see everyone is doing well.
my favorite lines in Goodbye Girl.... from the carriage ride . E: So you can cry all over yourself. I don't care. I am certifiably nuts about you . And your ditsy mom. I mean it , Lucy!! So blow that in your handkerchief ! Lucy: I don't have a handkerchief. E: Then use the horsey!!
Possibly the best of the reunions so far that you've done, guys. Thoroughly enjoyable - I loved that movie and still do. Dreyfuss, in particular, had some really great stories to tell. If I may, just one teentsy-weentsy disappointment, Seth & James: you never asked Quinn how she got the role! She was so amazing in the film, it would have been a fascinating story, I'm sure. But I forgive ya because everything else was just wonderful, and kudos to you guys for putting it together.
OMG Just when I thought the Mandela effect was over. Let's just say I'm shocked to see Marsha Mason here. Utterly delighted and I think she looks fabulous!
This interview puts a smile on my face. I just saw the movie again today and it’s as funny and as great as I remember it was. Marsha still looks beautul, Quinn still looks adorable, and Richard Dreyfuss although has less hair, doesn’t seem to have aged a bit.
I saw the movie 3x (3 weekends in a row) in 1977 when I was 10 years old. Apparently, I'm one month older than Quinn lol To this day, this movie is still my all-time favourite!
My mother rarely cared for movies but she said she liked the Goodbye Girl on more than one occasion. It was so good to see Richard, Marsha, and Quinn! I do have one question maybe someone can answer. How did they get around the profanity being spoken by Quinn ( like Tony's letter was full of it), and being spoken to her by Richard ( Elliot's lines while riding in the horse and carriage ) In 1977 that was pretty extreme for a child younger than 18. I thought they had laws, especially back then to keep children from being exposed to certain language. The movie is one of my favorite of all time. I was 14 when it came out. My Mom and I saw it in the theater, what a treat! I've only just recently watched it after all of these years and love it as much as I did the first time. Especially now that my Mom passed away. I think if her and the smile on her face when I see it now.
Oh my gosh this did not age well as far as the COVID-19 information. Glad I did not live in an extreme lockdown state. Insanity. Wish they would’ve just stuck to The Goodbye Girl. One of my all-time favorite movies
My thoughts, exactly. Insanity in the form of brainwashing truly took over. I noticed how horrified that one guy looked at the mention of “Some people want to open up….” Then again, many STILL believe what they were told to believe.
James & Seth…Your Energy is Outstanding!! Wonderful Gentlemen ;] Quinn is as Beautiful as Audrey Hepburn…Fabulous!! Fabulous Marsha Mason!! ;] Hey Richard Dreyfuss!! “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat” ;]
Still not over Marsha Mason not winning the Oscar for the Goodbye Girl. Robbed! And...Ridiculous that Keaton got it, she acts the same way in every movie since. Check her out, eyes to the left. Eyes to the right. Acting talent from A TO B. Thanks guys 4 the reunion.
I SO wish this was able to be conducted at a table instead of zoom. It’s just not the same. Zoom is a really poor substitute for in person interaction.
There's an extended outtake of Richard and Quinn's dinner scene that I saw once. Unfortunately, I only saw it once (on Dick Clark's Bloopers), but I thought it was pretty good. Also, I think Quinn is the youngest actor to say "shit" onscreen???
I used to say that Richard Dreyfuss was the only actor I wanted to be on stage (or film) with that I would leave my husband for. Fast forward -- I'm divorced! And I happen to be available for stage and film work!!
Elayne, don't make me come after ya, Richard is MINE! Crushed on him in Jaws but fell hard in TGG. I always say that Elliot Garfield is the blueprint for the type of guy I'd be interested in.
Regardless of how people remember it, it was a brilliant script, and a wonderful movie, with incredible actors. One of my very favorites. Really.
One of the best movies of all time! A wonderful cast!
I watch it once or twice every year !!! Never get tired of it !! The perfect comfort movie :)
This was a superb movie and had a superb song , timeless
Thank you so much for this! As a little Nigerian Black American girl growing up in East New York, Brooklyn The Goodbye Girl was EVERYTHING to me. I SINCERELY hope that these 3 great Stars know how AWESOME and GREAT it is for us to see them here again!!!!!!

Great movie with a fun and positive ending, can we go back to then please, lol
Love The Goodbye Girl so much, and it’s wonderful to see this reunion with Marsha, Richard and Quinn. I had the pleasure of meeting Quinn in 2012, and she’s a lovely, funny and warm person.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this!
Quinn is absolutely beautiful ❤️
Everytime the theme song starts to play at the end of the movie, along with Paula's line of "I love you!", always brings tears to my eyes, everytime I watch the movie, it's crazy! :-)
I agree, I could see the ending everyday for a year and cry every single time! Love this movie.
That, and when Lucy was crying on the horse buggy, that was another tender moment
Of all the movies i've seen in my long long life three stand out as magical, Cinema Paradiso, The Apartment, and The Goodbye GirI. She speaks the same way. Lovely!
How is this not Watched like a thousand times??!!! This is So AMAZING!! WOW, thanks guys.
This truly made me smile. Thank you all.
One of my favorite movies introduced to me by my parents. I liked it as a kid but I fully appreciated it as an adult.
It was a good movie. I watched it in the 80s. Quinn was a darn good child actress. A natural.

Don't forget The paper moon .
I love this film! I’m a huge fan of Dreyfuss. Marsha Mason is so talented and gorgeous. And so cool seeing Quinn. She hasn’t aged either!
My favorite movie of all time!
This was FANTASTIC!!!! The Goodbye Girl! How I love that movie! James and Seth, this show is amazing!👏🏻👏🏻
I met Richard Dreyfus before his one man show in London last year, amazing night.
Richard Dreyfus is one of my favorite actors. Also a great guy.
Do a "Family" reunion with Quinn, Gary Frank, Meredith Baxter Birney and Kristy McNichol
Thank you for this! I was 17 yrs old when this movie came out. I thought ALL of the cast was just brilliant. Richard D. Was so REAL and so vulnerable, he was just stunning during the entire movie! I'll join you, I could too. I have this movie on high rotation on my watch list. Love it.
my favorite lines in Goodbye Girl....
from the carriage ride .
E: So you can cry all over yourself.
I don't care. I am certifiably nuts about you . And your ditsy mom.
I mean it , Lucy!! So blow that in your handkerchief !
Lucy: I don't have a handkerchief.
E: Then use the horsey!!
Quinn was on FAMILY with Kristy McNichol!!!! So great to see everybody!!!! Profile looks fantastic, Quinn!
Rachel Azhocar-Allerano Oh yes! Now I remember her from Family!!!!
I loved FAMILY. I forgot Quinn was on that show. Matthew Brodericks father James, I think he was called, was on that great show to.
Possibly the best of the reunions so far that you've done, guys. Thoroughly enjoyable - I loved that movie and still do. Dreyfuss, in particular, had some really great stories to tell. Richard Dreyfuss won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role as Elliot Garfield. At 30, he was the youngest actor to win this Oscar.
Obožavam ga ..super glumac 👍
Quinn Cummings was a wonderful child actress, whether in movies ("The Goodbye Girl") or in series ("Family").
OMG Just when I thought the Mandela effect was over. Let's just say I'm shocked to see Marsha Mason here. Utterly delighted and I think she looks fabulous!

I'm most pleased to see Quinn.
I saw the movie 3x (3 weekends in a row) in 1977 when I was 10 years old. Apparently, I'm one month older than Quinn lol To this day, this movie is still my all-time favourite!
I am the same age as her also! 10/31/67
My mother rarely cared for movies but she said she liked the Goodbye Girl on more than one occasion. It was so good to see Richard, Marsha, and Quinn! I do have one question maybe someone can answer. Timeless classic
Luv this film, cast, and song.
Beautiful Cast & Film.
Marsha should have won an Oscar.
Jealous Hollywood.
I feel just like Marsha Mason's character Paula McFadden in the movie. Hope to find my Non-Goodbye Guy one day.
Gosh, I'm with you there! 🙏
Hands down my favorite movie!!!😊
I wish you 3 could do a commentary along with the movie, would make a great 45th Anniversary blu-ray edition next year.
Marsha is still a beautiful, cute, sharp lady! Love her.
I noticed how horrified that one guy looked at the mention of “Some people want to open up….”
Then again, many STILL believe what they were told to believe.
"No willpower." That's the line they gave Quinn when she requested one after Marsha's line "Mother doesn't want to beat the crap out of you."
I also loved Richard D. In Mr. Holland's Opus!!
One of my family movies of all time! 😂
It’s kind of refreshing how self deprecating Quinn is considering how talented she is.
Agree 💯. Marsha got robbed
But she did get the Golden Globe!
Love this movie 💕 like the meditation scene
Btw the line Quinn added and could recall was…”No willpower.”
Marsha was so skilled and expert in her character
She’s wonderful. I loved her as ‘Sherri’ in Frasier.
Quinn was on a lot of TV in the day.
Who didn't want a cute guy drenched in rain at their doorstep. I've had a crush on Dreyfuss and his voice for life
Wow!!!!!!!
Guinn looks beautiful!
She is in her 50’s! Wow!
I missed this, darnit! Well, in full disclosure, I just saw the film the other night (tee-hee-hee).
I SO wish this was able to be conducted at a table instead of zoom. It’s just not the same. Zoom is a really poor substitute for in person interaction.
Apart from the anitial stars who was Kelli ohara and Sean Hayes ,Scott icenogle .
Quinn could act circles around Marsha Mason at that tender age. Held her own with one of the greatest ever, Richard.
Wow. If DeNiro played that role and Dreyfuss had not, both their career trajectories would have been quite different.

Sweetbabyvixen TGG is definitely one of my top 5 favorites!!
Love from Bristol England
🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Can someone make a sequel of goodbye girls with the same actors?
richard ovwepowers this..... love how marsha types 2 someone thru his rants
Ok, you lost me when you dragged in covid 🙄😡
Yep 🤦♀️
Richard should you do anything like this again... sit at a desk with a proper chair...
Wait until 2023 when he's on the Bill Maher podcast.
What was the name of the tune Marsha danced to in the dance scene?
"How About You" by Cole Porter. Sinatra sings it on the Songs For Swinging Lovers lp
Short of stature, but not tight of pocket.
My dad s a M.D doc my grandma was a nurse..,...
someone ask Julia Roberts about Herb Ross....guy tortured her during the making of Steel Magnolias
guess what my name means
james is too much smile with no sense, ¿¿funny??
Richard is annoying and so full of himself.
You can hear Richard Dreyfus Parkinson's disease in is voice -- sounds like Michael J Fox.
