I met Gwen Vernon in Los Angeles at the pre Broadway trials of Fosse. She was so nice. That night I also met Ann Thinking and Carol Burnett. A special night for this gay musical lover.

One of the great things about Chita's singing was that she had a very distinctive sound -- you knew you were hearing Chita Rivera by the timbre of her voice. Her Birdie tracks are some of favorites!

Another Broadway legend Hinton Battle died today. He was a 3-time Tony Award winner. Rough day for the Great White Way.
I remember him when he did the Buffy Musical. Amazing talent. What a loss for the community.
