I had a jean jacket like that when I was a kid. And I had my mom sew all these cool patches on it. Then I gave it away to a boy I had a crush on, and he came back to school wearing it the next day...but he had ripped the sleeves off of it and was wearing it as a vest. I was so sad. Wish I still had it. :{
