BetterWayLiving: Having traveled and camped through all of the states you mentioned (when I was a child), REMEMBER TO BRING LAYERS OF CLOTHING! The Rockies can be in the 80 degrees during summer days and drop into the 40’s at night! Arizona, not so much! It could be 115 degrees during the day and only cool down to the 90’s at night! Good luck on your trip and take a lot of pictures! My mind is already bringing up scenery that you will see! Each state is beautiful in its own way. I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip!

Love the video and the information. I am planning to visit mid May . Do you know if the alpine usually open in May? It is winter now and they are closing the alpine.
The alpine section is rarely open in May. They didn't get much snow this year though. The park web site has a "Where are the plows page" which can give you a hint. They typically start plowing in about a month.
I've only watched the first few minutes of your video and already your photos and video are in the top five best I've seen about the Park. I guess I'll have to tune into more of your other videos. I'm subscribed to your channel.
I suppose you know some of Louis and Clark's group got close, they were chased away an nearly killed by the Blackfeet and a grizzly. The glaciers currently in the park were at their biggest in about 1850. So that would have been a great time to be there. The "little ice age" (1300-1850) ended about that time and glaciers started melting again. So, yes the would have been a great time to be there.

We will be staying in East Glacier at the end of June. We want to travel the GTTSR beginning at St Mary’s but will we be able to turn around and drive back the same way without a pass? Just curious if we have to drive back to the cabin a different way. Thanks for the video!
@@TheWestisBig the park's website said vehicle reservation is required from May 24th to Sept 8th. But didn't say what happens after Sept 8th. From other resources, they show the going to the sun road usually close on the third Monday of Oct but will depend on weather. So my interpretation is after 9/8/2024 the road is free for everyone no need reservation as long as the weather permits? I just want to make sure before flying out. Will probably call them again. But thank you!
That was a great video and brought back some memories of when I was there about 12 years ago, although when I was there it was rain and mist so the views were quite limited. Maybe it's time for a repeat trip.

When you enter from the East Entrance, can you travel the full length of the Going to the Sun Road and then come back through, or do you have to exit at the Apgar Checkpoint on the West side? Thanks! I love your videos!
Thanks and please subscribe if you haven't' already. that's a good question. They check for res tickets west of the main west gate- so I think you'll be fine in Apgar. I wouldn't exit the west gate. When the Sun Road is open the park web site will post more and better info.

There isn't much snow this year. I wouldn't expect snow to be near the road. The Glaciers have been visible for decades and will continue to be. Since you're a first timer you should subscribe and watch my "What you need to know video for 2024" and one of my hiking videos- one is 2 hours long and will help you choose a trail that's best for your group.

Yes the road is fully open until weather or construction closes it in Oct. the website updates road status when things change.

You can exit anywhere but you wouldn’t be able to get back in the westside before 6

Do not go in June if you plan to try to do going to the sun road. It’s not usually open until July. There will always be snow
So can I enter east side without a pass ?
You still need a park pass but from the east entrance you don’t need a reservation as well. You need a res from the west entrance between 6am and 3pm

the GTTSR doesn’t open till June- often late June depending on weather / snow. The red bus tours don’t start until the lodges open.
