Anytime I'm in a stressful situation I speak like that and it induces relaxation, it kind of resets me. It's so calming listening to someone speaking like that.
I can’t thank the lecturer, Dr Rossman, the channel and the broadcasting staff for such valuable lectures that summarize hundreds and thousands of hard work and knowledge. Thank you all and I highly recommend these very valuable lectures to everyone interested or cares for a patient suffering of mental illness or looking to learn these sciences for the sake of knowledge
Thank you for finding the perfect words to describe this rare gift. I have counted on his talk to get me out of hell to a place where I feel things are manageable and I feel like breaking out in "To Sir, With Love" :D
@@Linusrox123 Very much appreciated. I hope you continue to succeed and prosper in your life, and maybe it’s a chance for us to extend a helping hand to those who might be suffering.
I feel so much more informed after seeing this. And like I have been given a toolkit. Dr Rossman truly has an efective way making you feel personally addressed while giving a general talk
I have worried myself sick. I read one of his books years ago and it was really good and so were his meditations. I have been studying some other work, but this lecture is validating everything. So it’s come full circle. God bless the people who have dedicated their lives to studying this, and helping people with it.
My personal Stress Relief Mechanism is the use of nature such as the following: Watching Clouds as they Drift aimlessly, and The Changing shapes in the process! - Watching the water waves as they Wash the Shores! - Watch and listen as the wind flutters the leaves in the trees! - Listen as the Raindrops play their un rhythmic pattern on the roof, umbrella, tent etc., and while enjoying these pursuits stretch out, and envision, all stress in your body, draining from your head through your neck, shoulders arms legs fingers and toes out to the surrounding area any item used in daily life creates a rhythm and our bodies pick up and emulate that rhythm, and this method of stress relief, changes our body rhythm muchlike an automobile transmission, we slow things down! IN MY OPINION!
BINGO!!! This lecture has given me a better understanding of my nemesis, stress, which is the driver of my chronic pain syndrome. I have had, as an ACEs child, Type 2 stress. My pain neurotags go off and running on their own. This is giving me practices and tools to better manage this stress. Yay!!!!!
Mike, How are you now? One more practice. To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, at home, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.
I'm in the process of discovering how to deal with my chronic pain syndrome and this lecture is pure gold. As an ACES survivor, I've reached the level of acceptance of the causes of it; now my task is to be able to eliminate/change how I perceive and process stress. I have lived my entire life, all 73 years of it, in a state of constant stress. When I didn't have enough of it, I'd manufacture it--I am clearly an addict but I do see a path out. I know this isn't an easy task but if I want to rid myself of this horrible constant pain, I must be willing to do the work. And, at 73, if not now when...
I have posted this on Facebook on Twitter and on Pinterest. So very helpful. I have experienced some of what he talks about. Thank you Dr. Rossman for helping us all. Blessings.

Really enjoying listening to this video . Spoken in a calm precise way basically keeping it real & pure common sense. Will keep to go back to each day when needed.
At first I thought lol (when I read about this fella having a soothing voice) but as I listened to him more and more the more I thought oh yes he DOES have a really soothing voice !......
Most psychiatrist dont use a functional MRI to diagnose mental conditions ... in high stress/cortisol level episodes will increase glucose levels and prevent ketosis during stressful episodes - so immunity system is weaken and there is no self repair/autophagy going on. So eliminating stress must occur first - however, for mental conditions like Post Traumatic Syndrome disorder (PTSD) pushing the mind to relax is the real trick..
This is invaluable information and should be more widely disseminated. I have used this method in the classroom with students, and surprisingly they respond to it.

Depends on what the situation is I've been exposed to a seriously traumatic situation with my X brainwashing my kids against me from a young age when in that situation u can only act terrified when u know someone is doing something seriously evil I was exposed to that for twenty years only now it's coming around
I think what I learned was if you're gonna imagine things( make shit up in your head ) than WHY NOT make up happy stuff with positive outcomes? Makes so much since to me... so basic with so much medical/scientific proof love it ... haters gonna hate and dislike him perhaps you haters are the ones who stress us out with your negative image... if you don't agree with this DOCTOR than move on but don't need to say mean things... Go find your happy place please... hugs

If I hear the "sabretooth tiger" or perhaps "bear in the woods" rhetoric just one more time, I swear I'll crack, 😅.. can't believe anyone who suffers stress isn't acquainted with that one.. seeing as every damn lecture I ever heard on the subject, throws it in in the introductory stage somewhere.. like it's some kind of newfound revelation, lol..

I don't need guided imagery, I just need this man to talk to me every night before I go to bed. The ultimate tuck in.
His process really works. I excerpted a 20 min segment, converted it to MP3 format, loaded it on my mp3 player in repeat mode, and sleep improved.
his way of talking is the ultimate way to calm down, if everyone talked like him maybe wed be a stress free society
That is the truth. It's a tone/voice we all could pursue in our self-talk.
