👏 I’m hearing Elvis’ tone/drawl here, on many words; often.
Is it possible that these two dulcet-toned men grew up in similar part the States.
Mind you, I’m an Australian living Down Under, so I have no idea; I simply hear it🤷‍♀️.
PS Content is wonderful - even though 11yrs ago. Truth is Truth 🙏

So it’s come full circle. God bless the people who have dedicated their lives to studying this, and helping people with it.

My personal Stress Relief Mechanism is the use of nature such as the following:
Watching Clouds as they Drift aimlessly, and The Changing shapes in the process! - Watching the water waves as they Wash the Shores! - Watch and listen as the wind flutters the leaves in the trees! - Listen as the Raindrops play their un rhythmic pattern on the roof, umbrella, tent etc., and while enjoying these pursuits stretch out, and envision, all stress in your body, draining from your head through your neck, shoulders arms legs fingers and toes out to the surrounding area any item used in daily life creates a rhythm and our bodies pick up and emulate that rhythm, and this method of stress relief, changes our body rhythm muchlike an automobile transmission, we slow things down! IN MY OPINION!

I'm in the process of discovering how to deal with my chronic pain syndrome and this lecture is pure gold. As an ACES survivor, I've reached the level of acceptance of the causes of it; now my task is to be able to eliminate/change how I perceive and process stress. I have lived my entire life, all 73 years of it, in a state of constant stress. When I didn't have enough of it, I'd manufacture it--I am clearly an addict but I do see a path out. I know this isn't an easy task but if I want to rid myself of this horrible constant pain, I must be willing to do the work. And, at 73, if not now when...

Mike, How are you now? One more practice. To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, at home, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

Most psychiatrist dont use a functional MRI to diagnose mental conditions ... in high stress/cortisol level episodes will increase glucose levels and prevent ketosis during stressful episodes - so immunity system is weaken and there is no self repair/autophagy going on. So eliminating stress must occur first - however, for mental conditions like Post Traumatic Syndrome disorder (PTSD) pushing the mind to relax is the real trick..
