I've included links to many different types of trench coats in the video description but I'd love to know which one is your favourite. Lots of love to you all. Deirdre. XX
Love my trench coat. Classy with my hood. Extremely useful on bad rain days hood come off and serves its purpose. Boots and jeans with turtleneck. High boots 👢 whatever stunning 🤩.
Hi Dierdre, Love your tips and your energetic presentation! You look gogeous in your olive-colored silk blouse! I recently bought a knee-length white trench with tortoise-shell type buttons from New York & Company--used from Poshmark, and it looks brand new at only $20. It looks so classy, and it matches my gorgeous luggage, which is the retro streamer trunk type in white with camel leather trim. Here's a tip you might like: remove the self-fabric belt and use a long, silk scarf--tres chic. You mentioned sateen: I love that fabric; I also recently bought a short black trench in that fabric on ThredUp. Natalia Arizona
Hi Natalia. Thanks for this great tip! I think that a coat can often look more stylish with a different belt than the one it came with. You are certainly picking up some great bargains!! XX
Hi Deirdre. You look lovely in that color green. I have a J Crew cotton trench I bought last year that I've only worn a handful of times. It's camel color and fits great but I don't reach for it. Thanks for the ideas as I'd love to wear it more often.
Thanks for another great video. Mine is vintage Old Navy 2009, 100% Cotton, thigh length camel color. My favorite way to wear is with navy pants and a navy and white striped tee with white Vans. It is virtually indestructible. I love it. It feels like fall.
Ha ha. I love your comment that your trench is "virtually indestructible"! I think a good trench can last and last, so I know what you mean. Camel and navy is a very chic combination. XX
@@Olivia-jy9jf Thanks Samy. I do think that the length of a coat is important to consider and to choose it according to your height and build. Many thanks. XX
I’ve just been watching some of yourprevious content as I’ve just bought a tan trench coat and this has been so helpful, thank you! I already have a show stopping Holland Cooper navy trench and I feel The Bomb when I’m wearing it 💃💣 I especially loved the comment ‘wear it like a ball gown!’, I do!!!😍
Hey Deirdre! Thank you for this trench coat video! I think I prefer a single button rather than a double breasted. I will be on the hunt for neutral one that works for me! 💕
I always enjoy your videos and am sorry Chanel didn't want to join you. I appreciate all your visual examples and listing the items for us. I know these videos are quite a lot of work to produce and the videos are always filled with lots of good information. Have a great rest of your week.
Thank you so much, Peggy. Chanel likes to rest in the next room to where we film as she likes to hear us talking and lots of noise! Yes, you are right; these videos are a full-time job but I love making them and I love trying to help ladies like ourselves as much as I can. Take care. XX
Loved this video. I’ve been rotating my 2 maxi trench coats by Gallery for the past 12yrs. One is black and the other is green with zip out wool linings for colder weather. They still look fabulous. I couldn’t live without them. Classic style where one has a belt and the other single breasted with hidden button front.
Trenchcoats really haven't changed much over the years . I'm still hanging onto a cafe-au-lait coloured one from the eighties . The slight shoulder pads in it may not be as noticeable as I think they are . Certainly my sand coloured knee length trench is a most versatile one but a favourite is also a RL caramel shade that I wear more often . Lots of ideas and looks here !
Whenever I decide I need to buy something new I check eBay first. I’ve recently bought a Next trench for £3 👏 Deirdre I think you’re lovely but please stop saying “fall” 🙏🏼
I have a 10 year old red London Fog trench Knee length I’ve worn it so many times- especially when I want to be noticed! Thanks for this video And PS I love your green shirt Looks so good on you
I like trench coats with a removable (zip or button) insulated lining, they work for nearly all weather in my California climate. I always bought London Fog brand, but I noticed the last one I got from them is lower-quality, using polyester instead of nylon fabric for the shell. So, I’m looking for a better brand.
Hi Kimberly. A trench coat with a lining is incredibly versatile for all weathers, as you say. London Fog have certainly produced excellent trenches so it's sad to hear that the quality may have reduced. Let's keep looking for that perfect trench coat! XX
Mine is double breasted and a lovely stone colour. It’s not showerproof, but more like a twill. It’s warm without being too heavy. It’s by Oasis and I got it half price. My tailor friend shortened it to just above the knee.
hi i love all your videos, ive just turned 60 im very fit doing 13 classes a week and dont look my age so people tell me i got into a little rut and lost of what i shouldn't and should wear its a mine field out there, but you have made it a lot easier, ive cleared out my wardrobe and starting again with the basics i find it hard to get clothes to fit as im 5.3 ft and a pear shape size 10/12 i have to have everything altered which bumps up the price what are your thoughts on faux leather trousers as i cant find any that fit well would love a video on it.
HI Gaynor. Thanks so much for commenting and for appreciating my videos! Wow! You sound incredibly fit. You put me to shame as I don't do NEARLY enough exercise! I love what you are doing to reinvigorate your wardrobe. Often, a clean slate allows us to see much more clearly and it's pretty liberating, isn't it? I'm only 5'4" so I do understand that, unfortunately, at our height, items may need to get altered. I'm so grateful for your idea to make a video on faux leather, with a focus on trousers. I adore this look and I would really relish working on sourcing some great items, so thank you and it's going straight on my list of videos to schedule in! Take care and well done being so fit! XX
Oh dear. Are you in the US? If you’re in the US, I try to include equivalent links that are for US customers and these are through shopstyle or through individual brands. I think Stylink tends to be for the UK market. Xx
Hi Deirdre , i know im 2yr late but i need to replace my old trench. Im 5f6in and size 12 bottom. My bust elevates my top half to 14-16depending on make/fit. Would i go for single or double breasted to slim my tummy ?. Im planning on knee length and i dont usualy fasten my coats. Please help.😢
I agree, a very long coat is more flattering for petites, like me. The worst length is a mid-length that visually cuts the body into two equal sections. I have a fuller bust and waist, so for me, a single-breasted style is much more flattering than a double-breasted style, which adds visual and actual bulk to the body. I also think they look much better open than the double-breasted styles.
In Scottsdale I wouldn’t wear a trench it’s too heavy and it’s more elevated sportswear. Most chic women here in fall wear a faux fur vest or chic little puffer jacket or vest or a lightweight leather jacket.
Hi Kris. That's great to know and thank you for letting us know. I adore faux fur vests, puffers and leather jackets, so maybe I need to visit Scottsdale! XX

Hi Lynne, it’s a sort of patent, so therefore, a bit shiny, but not incredibly so. I hope this helps. Xx
