Todd, thanks much for the tip. I just replaced the bladder valve on my Mr Green and worked nicely. The outer circle of dacron was impeding the bladder to seat flat so I used a curved surface underneath to help the adhesion. Good video, thanks again.
I damaged the bladder while trying to cut out the valve. ''It should be pretty easy because that's the reason it let go''. Well, (apparently) not for newer bladders. The initial damage was a hole on the valve itself, and not leaking because the glue is letting go. I've watched several videos were they could just tear off the valves. No way that's happening for my valve, even not after heating it with a heat gun. I'm bringing it to a repair shop now, I suggest people to do the same when the valve is not coming off easily!
Jurjan de Graaf you are very correct. Taking off a valve that is still on is very difficult. The best is putting it in a cup of boiling water, but even then, it might not work. My next step would be remove the whole valve with scissors and then begin a new repair. Very difficult to say the least. Mahalo for your comment.
Hello, great vid! I'd like you to tell me how those clamps that you use to clamp down the bladder prior to changing the vale are called. Could you also tell me what size I should be looking for and maybe provide me with a link to buy the appropriate ones? Thanks in advance!
+nou giw Any spring clamp will work, I have used several different types and even used just weights to keep the material flat. They are approximately 2 inch spring clamps.
Thanks for this. Fixing an old Wainman kite and this has been a massive help 🤙🏾

Awesome!!!!
Nice tips! Exactly what I was looking for.
How to check what valve size will be correct for my kite? For example 7mm, 9mm valve, what is this size?
Thanks man 👊
Thanks Kailolo, great tip!!!

Thanks, I've found some at the local stores. They were cheaper that I thought too...
Hey -what do you do if the ball is missing?
find another one a stuff it back in after or before replacement. On the older WH kite i use a 1 way valve and delete the ball all together
William Zabka?
great .... great ...... Might you tell me the name of the valves .... please?? thank you very much
Airtime replacement valves are what I used in the Video. The valve traps from Airtime work as well for ant valve.
