Just found out Polyphia did a cover of this, it was actually pretty good too!!
I prefer the classic crunchy Ego Death. Call me biased but I'm just into 8 bit songs more
I cant believe Polyphia didnt credit the original smh
Bro, 20 year classically trained violinist here, who is now obsessed with polyphia. These covers have to be the coolest fucking things on RUclips, definitely deserving of WAY MORE subs, hopefully Polyphia invites you to Collab someday, you make the 8-bit vibe feel so natural.
Same here, except I play more viola now!! Crazy small world
@@viojoe11 Nice dude! Thanks for the sub! My channel is pretty dormant now, but I'm hoping someday!
@@strad1973 no rush!
what does "classically trained" mean?
Also, doesn't listening polyphia long enough sound like a computer running arpeggio programs?
@@danherrick2310 Just meaning that I learned violin the traditional route with sheet music and school classes, studying Mozart and other western composers.
I find it I listen to anything too long it will start to sound like a computer 🤖
The final boss music we needed but didn't know existed. Even has a badass 2nd phase
when you play elden ring on gameboy color 😂
I can see Steve Vai as the final boss after you defeat all of Polyphia. Fucking sick, dude!
Kevbot you made it onto Tim's stream! Congrats my friend. You deserve the recognition!
Duuuuude huge W, I'm so happy they saw it and really gave them a solid listen! I can't wait to start going in on the new RTYWD tracks, I can die happy now 🙌
@@kb3k W kevbot u deserve it bro
@@kb3k Bloodbath or Reverie would sounds sick af
@@kb3k You deserve all of it - except the dying part. pls don't do that bro
Anyone got a link? 👀 Would love to see it
That sound you designed for Vai's guitar gave me chills, absolutely mythical work as always, mate
I love how it's a pretty loyal recreation of the song with 8-bit sounds instead of a total overhaul into a nintendo-esque chip tune style
Holy cow dude, this is unbelievably good. Just your transcription ability alone is out of this world, but to put it together in a way that captures the original feel... man, that's some talent you've clearly worked hard to obtain.
Flows like butter and it's epic
Incredible how you were still able to keep the energy of this song while in 8 bit. Still just as powerful as listening to the boys. A+ job Kevbot!!!
It was coo tol watch them spin out to it huh .
The cover art for this cover is just as sick as the rendition itself. Nice
I'm completely mindblowned at the degree of accuracy of every single instrument in this 8-bit cover
must feel cool to have Polyphia rocking out to your video !!
The fact that around 4:13 is the most watched portion of both this cover and the original really says a lot about Steve Vai
This is genuinely amazing. I love the original, but hearing this, with the rush of nostalgia from when I was a little kid playing video games, is honestly making me tear up. Thank you for making this!
Scotties solo is the best part of this cover holy sh*t
You are an actual god among men my dude
This is SO COOL ITS INSANE
Oh my. Perfectly fits the "epic sad" style of the song. Could definitely be the ost of any 2d action game. Clap clap
the effort this must have taken is crazy. GOOD WORK!!
Human creativity never ceases to amaze me...
I just saw the band react to this one. It would of been cool for them to leave a comment on your page. Oh well. We all enjoyed it so much. Keep on groovin!!!!
Vai’s Solo and parts throughout the song sound so amazing in 8-Bit
These should be on spotify
great, now i got a bunch more 8bit songs to listen to. great job!
I haven't even come Halfway, and this is something... Just something, I Can't even Begin to Describe...
What a Masterpiece. Much Much More than a Masterpiece...
I don't know why, but every time I listen to a Polyphia song, I get so Addicted to it that I keep it on Repeat until and unless each & every Note is completely stuck in my Head... And from Listening to this, Damm! You haven't missed a SINGLE Freaking Note! The Rhythm, the Tone, the Beat, Everything is entirely on Point. Lot of Respect to your Dedication and Hardwork Sir. This for sure must have taken a lot of Effort to put together.
Something really Unique and Praiseworthy.
Plot twist: he just put original song in a 8-bit music converter piece of software.
I'm shouting this out on Twitter. they need to see this. Absolutely fantastic.
Ear to ear grins the ENTIRE time. You are doing amazing things for us regular people.
OMGEEEE it's absolutely amazing how you're able to capture so much of their incredibly dynamic sounds!! Love it!!!
Kevbot knocks it out of the park once again. Cant wait to hear more originals from you - collective progress and Tools of Conviction were bangers!
I like the picture art as much as the song.
Do you understand how hard outrun would have went if this was playing while you were driving down that pixilated road?! Holy shit.
I’ve been awaiting this Masterpiece. INCREDIBLE!
Glad to ear this. ❤️🙏
Damn I am crying at Vai’s solo part
You've yet to miss with any of these. Really impressive.
As always the pixel art is adorable too.
you killed it again, i also appreciate the pixelart of band :)
edit: the percussion part cca 2:00 is absolutely fantastic
steve vai part fantastic.. whole song absloute masterpiece of a cover. you even caught the bass and percussion perfectly. thanks!
ABSOLUTE BANGER BROO 🔥🔥
Polyphia finally listened to your work during a stream and they loved it!
We saw it. Hella grateful and happy. Thanks for people in the stream to bring 8 bit stuff up in chat.
Wow. The attention to detail here is impressive. You really captured the essence of the song. Proof that great composition > genre / the instruments you use to create it.
Really cool.
Dr. Robotnik slaying music
I mean.. the hours it took to cover this, blows my mind. You deserve all the recognition in the world.. This sounds so sick 8bit. 🤩
YES! I love that this version helps me hear aspects I hadn't yet in the original :D
This is straight FIRE, didn't know 8bit could sound so GOOD
SCOTTIE'S PART OMFGGG 2:29 IM BOUTTA BUSSST
THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING RIOGHT NEOW
This... Is... Beyond amazing. Honestly, this is one of the best covers of a song I have ever heard. Absolutely SICK
I 100% agree!
You have a lot of additional work to do as of this week haha xD about ten new stepping stones just added ;) keep up the great work
Epic
The whole thing is so cool, but the Steve Vai sounds so incredibly good!
Any chance these would go into spotify? These are great
Damn dude I came here from seeing the boys' reaction to this and you prolly already know but you have serious chops! Keep on keeping on dude!
Came from the reaction video of Polyphia listening to this. Love this version OMG
This is so cool, I was smiling earlier this morning while listening. Just came back to hear it again 😆💥
Turned polyhia into the final boss soundtrack 10/10
this is incredible, i always look forward to your covers but this one especially is next level
If you sync this up with the original video(muted), u can have this cover playing over the music video so its looks like they are playing......
so glad this was recommended to me. incredible job mate
Polyphia sent me! Keep crushing it!
They reacted to this!!!
OMG this is a masterpiece, awesome work!! 😍
I can see a very specific scene in my head while hearing this
Omg this is amazing. It's so good hfs.
Yeah boi, I knew you were gonna work on this when the song came out. A banger as always.
damn I keep getting goosebumps from this, it's unreal
Sick

I really wish they would recognize u like they do a lot of fan covers
If they did I want to see it
They did
Sounds like something out of Pokémon. LOVE IT!

Just found your channel, been a fan of Polyphia for around 3 years. This is mad work bro, amazing stuff, got my sub right away, please do continue your amazing job!!
*THIS IS SO SICKKK IT SOUNDS SO GOOD THIS WAYY!!*
amazing video game soundtrack or anything for that matter, goddamn💯
Great work my man!
Honestly no idea this channel existed and I really didn't think 8 bits covers were a thing but I'm subscribing because of this video right here
This is fantastic!
This is next level. Man, this is awesome
I wrote it in the comments of the original, but damn this reminds me of the awesome music of the Pinball Dreams and Pinball Illusion games on the Amiga... So awesome. Thank you :)
GLAD TO SEE THIS CHANNEL IS GETTING SOME MUCH DESERVED LOVE.
It fits so well that it's amazing
This takes a lot of time and talent, that's a very good job, love it!
Sounds super nostalgic. When I listen to it with my eyes closed, I feel like I was in my childhood finishing the 4th phase of the last boss of a game that I still haven't defeated at my 100th try. Both the original and this version are incredible works of art.
These are so dope dude
Genius move Dude
I just found you here, and I want to say that I absolutely love your work. It's a true testament to not only your skill, but also the writing/production/skill of Polyphia, that each artists' voice still comes through the 8bit tonality. It's so perfectly executed that I can still hear the difference between Tim and Scott.
Bro, I didn’t know where to drop this comment, so I decided to put it here.
You’ve mentioned that you’re doing this as a hobby, and I honestly been following you since the very beginning.
The fact that you just doing something you genuinely enjoy, and it gotten to the point that even polyphia themselves did a reaction video reaction to this cover, just says how far you’ve gotten.
The amount of talent, the amount of effort, the amount of creativity that you’ve been so eager to put out, has been and still is a blessing.
Watching your stuff is just so enjoyable, so entertaining and so inspiring.
Just wanted to say thank you for putting smiles on our faces whenever we hear your stuff.
Keep up the amazing work bro.
PS: one thing I dislike, is the fact that whenever you out a cover during working hours, I literally have to drop everything and go to my car and vibe with the cover for an hour straight before going back to work, because I cannot keep my calm listening to it in the office, I’ll be head banging mid meetings 😂
Made my whole week reading this ❤️ thanks for the inspiration, Hassan. You're awesome 👊
holy shit thats good, i just recently stumpled over Polyphia, and had that distinct feel, that some melodys remind me of snes Games like Secret of Mana and Megaman X. Though the 8bit is more NES like it carries the same style
this is a beautiful rendition and deserves 10000x the views its at right now, and to be put into several epic games. sincerely keep up the work pls find a way to put on tidal so i can save it for my grind playlist for games XD
Came home to unwind to some playlists with Polyphia in them, found this in my RUclips recs. I'm so glad to have checked this out. Really amazing take/cover on Ego Death. Checking out some more content. Sounds really really awesome.
I didn’t know I needed this but I did
Mad as a box of frogs ... as always!
It really shows the technical skill and amazing talent and hard work on both ends for them to make a song that translated to 8bit sounds amazing and it shows how good the 8bit is and how true to the og it stays while being it’s own complete work of art
Amazing cover. Thank you.
Polyphia watched your video mate!!
Killed it.
YOU DESERVE MY SUB! HANDS DOWN BRO YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE YOURSELF!
This is absolutely amazing. Fantastic work! I'm in awe.
Amazing!
I'm glad the band listened to it to show their whole community!
