Longines completely killed it with the Zulu Time. Love the ceramic bezel vs steel bezel lib with blue sunburst dial vs flat black on Tudor. 3 color options for Longines and 1 for Tudor. Love how the leather bands are micro adjustable, who has that at this piece point?!? Nobody but Longines. It’s twice the total watch for the money.
Two stunning watches, but I find the Longines amazingly beautiful. It shows great quality and original design. Considering the materials used and the comparable movements, the price difference seems to be in favor of the Longines.
I like the Longines better too! For me personally, I think having three snowflake hands on the Tudor is just too much... I think it could be a nicer design if they had just made the second hand tip round like the indices. Or, they could've borrowed the orange pointer GMT hand from the Rolex Explorer 2 and left the other two snowflake hands as they are, but that would've opened a can of worms with a comparison to the Rolex... but it still would've looked better (imho). The Tudor is still a beautiful watch and I really like the toolish look of it, but for some reason the three snowflake hands makes it too busy for my eyes. I really struggled on which one to purchase. Both watches are really good, but went with the BB Pro in the end. The AD had it in the configuration (band) I wanted. So far the thickness nor weight have been an issue on my 7.5 in wrist.

Thanks for bringing this up Rick. A detail I missed in production but had thought I covered it in my head. The Longines does indeed have an adjustable GMT hand that is indicative of a travellers GMT. It functions very much the same to the Tudor albeit with a rotatable bezel for tracking an additional time zone

I picked up the Zulu Time today, that same green bezel model. It is beautiful. A note on size commentary in RUclips watch videos… I have 7.5 inch wrists so 42mm and 50mm lug to lug is perfect fit for me. Not too big at all. Even though they are similar in thickness, the Zulu distributed it in a way that it’s less blocky and seems thinner. But some people might like a blocky look.

If you asked a non watch person I’d bet they would think the Tudor looked like a 500$ watch and the longines like a 5k$ watch. But really, the longines is so much nicer looking. Just a beauty.
The Longines has significantly more history than the Tudor in the gmt/Zulu question. Longines were the 1st watchmaker to produce a dual timezone in 1908 for the Ottoman empire in a pocket watch, and in a wristwatch format in the 1920's withe the zulu time wrist watch before rolex was a thing.
2:20 no history for the Zulu Time? It hurts to see such flawed research in an otherwise good video. As watchilove put it: "Its origins and its name come from the first Longines dual-time zone wristwatch manufactured in 1925, which featured the Zulu flag on its dial." Yes, the looks are reworked, but theres your history - easily almost a 100 yrs for this one, and it also easily predates the Tudor or it's Rolex reference. Also, sorry, but what is going on here that you mention the "travellers GMT" functionality for the Tudor but you don't say that Longines does exactly the same? As if Longines was a caller GMT - but both are "true" GMTs.
You mentioned that if we have a good relationship with a dealer, we could get the Longines at under retail. How much under retail do you think I could get? Do you think 15 percent off is likely? OR maybe even more? I tried it on in at an AD. But didn't even ask about getting a discount. What is the likely discount? THANKS
I have the Longines Spirit Chronograph, lovely watch. I think that you said the bracelet has screw pins however, it does not, not on the Chronograph version or Zulu Time. Both lovely watches mind!
Longines made the first dual-time watch, AND the first GMT movement watch. The "Zulu Time" was the first gmt ever, and that's why they named this release "Zulu Time."
Both great but I would go with Tudor. For me it looks better and is wear it and forget about it. It will last longer and take more of a beating while still looking good as it ages and comes to life with every Nick and cranny.
I really like the snowflake hands on the Tudor something about them always stand out to me in a charming way and has much better lume. The Zulu dial is exquisite, the 5 star dial and the rotating bezel make all the difference to me as both watches are true GMT and chronometers. All in all I would side with Longines.
The Zulu time is simply a nicer looking watch in my eyes. I really hate Tudor hands, and even discounting the hands I just think the Zulu simply looks better and is more versatile.
I think your video needed to compare the Tudor BB GMT (Pepsi) too in this video because in my opinion the Longines is going straight for the Tudor market. I own a Tudor BB GMT and love the watch , but I am already looking to getting the Longines Zulu time , for the Tudor BB Pro I feel the Steinhart Homage version can save you a lot of money and give you what the Pro offers and looks more like the original Rolex 1655 model. In my opinion great video nice history given, thank you and all the best.
BB Pro all day. That said, the Zulu Time is amazing and will hopefully bring more people to the brand. Also, you can buy the Zulu time, whereas the BB Pro you get to wait on a list, possibly never getting a call.
I don't think that is the case. BB Pro is available at all the ADs in Europe. On the other hand, the anthracite dial of Zulu Time requires waiting list in some countries.
As a long time rolex fan boy but not so much anymore, I'd pick the longines because it looks nicer to me, however if I were to pick this longines vs the new Tudor gmt S&G root beer, I would pick the root beer and I did. It's such a beautiful watch, super vintage vibes, almost feel like looking at antiques. P.S. I'd actually pick the root beer over any Rolex
I find the Longines to be the better value and more interesting watch, although the real value buy, and for those with average size wrists or just wanting more wrist presence, the Mido Ocean Star GMT is what I chose. 200m WR, 80h PR, and a true traveler's GMT. Hard to top that for its very modest price point.
Love many details on the Longines but wish they would’ve made the bezel a matte finish. The glossy bezel just doesn’t do it for me (same with modern Rolex) makes it feel cheap
Awesome and very objective video that gives each watch its props without downplaying their craftsmanship . Love both watches the I would consider the longines but the lugs are too long , therefore Tudor all the way
Even for the same money, I prefer the Longines Zulu time. Granted, I don’t like the Tudor GMT Pro’s look: I prefer the other Black Bay GMT, with the colored bezel. That would be a tougher decision.
I have the longines spirit zulu time in bracelet and I tried the black bay pro. I find the the black bay pro is much more comfortable to wear than the Longines. Undeniably the Longines looks better and gives better value with its third timezone capability. Quality wise, both are the same. Unfortunately, am leaning towards BB pro and plan to sell my Longines.
I have a BB Pro and a Longines Hydroconquest GMT. I didn't get the Spirit Zulu Time because I don't like Arabic numbers. The Tudor blows away the Longines.
Longines warranty is 5 years too… but if you buy the Longines in “Watches of Switzerland” they give 3 more years! that’s happened with me when I see 2 warranty cards, I called and they told me that…
I tried a BB58 recently and it felt cheap to me, I’m probably spoilt with my Seamaster and obviously a big price difference but I was disappointed with the Tudor
I own an Explorer II and a Pepsi GMT II ... What the Ex2 offers that the GMT2 does not is inconspicuousness. People -- including those whom you might not want to -- notice a red/blue-bezel watch on a steel bracelet ... nobody notices the Ex2, which is a benefit in certain contexts. (Generally, though, better to simply not-go places where you can't comfortably/safely wear whatever watch you want.)

I love the Longines and I will buy one next week
5:06 The Zulu Time is also a travellers gmt with an adjustable hour hand.
comparing longines 39mm would be fair but at the time video was shot only there was 42mm version
Good point a well worn Tudor always looks cool
I really like the snowflake hands on the Tudor something about them always stand out to me in a charming way and has much better lume. The Zulu dial is exquisite, the 5 star dial and the rotating bezel make all the difference to me as both watches are true GMT and chronometers. All in all I would side with Longines.
You *like* the 5-star thing!? It's the only thing that pushes the Zulu 39 out of 'impulse buy NOW' territory for me ...
Thanks for the comparison, it's the longines for me..
No denying that it’s a good looking watch thanks for watching!
T-fit is incredible ... can't wait until those patents expire and I can have it on everything.
Im a big fan of tudor and not so much of longines, but longines really hit it out of the park with this zulu spirit.
Great review/comparison!
Thank you Ian!
The Zulu time is simply a nicer looking watch in my eyes. I really hate Tudor hands, and even discounting the hands I just think the Zulu simply looks better and is more versatile.
Now we have a 39mm Zulu Time, perfect watch with a perfect price tag
Intro music is tip top. What’s the title?
What’s the bracelet taper for the Pro, from lug to clasp?
It goes from 20mm to 16mm at the clasp just like the BB58
Does the BB Pro have the same movement issues as the Pepsi?
Comment from an ignorant.
Well based just on looks Longines = pure class Tudor = rugged tool watch
Thats a great way to put it. They represent those values well
Very good comparison. Get going 🚀
I feel that the Longines is better. I have the blue one and it's awesome. That said, I've only tried the Tudor on.
I’ve tried both on and prefer Tudor one.❤
I would rather accept the thinckness of Tudor than the outside AR coating on the Longines's crystal which will get scratched in longterm wear.
Which of the two is more accurate?
I find the Longines to be the better value and more interesting watch, although the real value buy, and for those with average size wrists or just wanting more wrist presence, the Mido Ocean Star GMT is what I chose. 200m WR, 80h PR, and a true traveler's GMT. Hard to top that for its very modest price point.
I would do the Longines spirit which I did the 40m sunburst dial blue is fantastic
That’s the best color Longines too. I’m torn between to the two tbh.
Love many details on the Longines but wish they would’ve made the bezel a matte finish. The glossy bezel just doesn’t do it for me (same with modern Rolex) makes it feel cheap
Awesome and very objective video that gives each watch its props without downplaying their craftsmanship . Love both watches the I would consider the longines but the lugs are too long , therefore Tudor all the way
That is one area the Longines could do a lot better! Maybe the perfect watch is a love child between the Tudor and the Longines 🤔
So get both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😁😁
You might just have the right idea!
I'll keep my GS SBGM245 over these two, but excellent comparo!
That’s a great watch you have! Wouldn’t fault you for that call Thanks for watching 😃
I still do not like the tudor hour hand, I've really tried too however, nope 😢
Pretty easy to get the BB Pro now. Just shows you wait a little and these watches will be available.
Yup picked one up! It’s a great watch!
Both are good and they do functionthe same. But Tudor is Tudor at the end.
No doubt that Tudor has its brand power and behind a powerful sibling to its advantage. Thanks for watching!
Tudor is an overrated in-house homage brand. Longines is a much more original brand.
2:15 Zulu time does not have history? bruhhhhh... do you even know why the name "Zulu" is even there? hahahaha
Great comparison!
Thank you Nathan
Even for the same money, I prefer the Longines Zulu time. Granted, I don’t like the Tudor GMT Pro’s look: I prefer the other Black Bay GMT, with the colored bezel. That would be a tougher decision.
This Longines Spirit Zulu GMT is the most beautiful GMT of all.
Longines 100%
Devosa GMT.....owned .2years excellent watch at £168
I have the longines spirit zulu time in bracelet and I tried the black bay pro.
The Black version of the Longines Zulu is the best, with that blue GMT hand pop.
Damn, that Longines is beautiful
For the price. The grand seiko quartz gmt 's
Have both , sold pro kept zulu
Let’s assume the watches are equal, is the Longines warranty still 2 years? I know the Tudor is 5 years. That is a huge difference.
Longines warranty is now 5 years. “Longines extends the warranty to five years on all models using the antimagnetic silicon balance-spring”
5 years...Also, lower beat rate = longer service intervals, generally speaking.
Longines warranty is 5 years too… but if you buy the Longines in “Watches of Switzerland” they give 3 more years! that’s happened with me when I see 2 warranty cards, I called and they told me that…
The zulu looks way better if you ask me. Apparently this Tudor model is popular but to me it looks cheap and i don't like the metallic bezel
I tried a BB58 recently and it felt cheap to me, I’m probably spoilt with my Seamaster and obviously a big price difference but I was disappointed with the Tudor
At first glance the longines looks higher quality. That's my reaction after two seconds.
Longines, it's not even a contest. The only nod I give to the Tudor on this model is the quick adjust.
The only thing i want on the Longines is the tfit clasp
