shawn gaines Right? 1,000 years of planning and plotting, destabilizing the Republic in order to destroy the Jedi, only to be snuffed out by a three-eyed cow salty that you rooked him out of podracing money.
Yes, I agree. Palpatine/Sidious is my favorite too. I hate how Disney killed him off in a cheesey way. Imo, I don't think that was the real Palpatine in TROS. I also wish LucusFilm will make a movie about Palpatine/Sidious.
Anime Legend Actually, it isn't quite. Plagueis (acting on his own without Sidious) attempted to create an ultimate force being and failed to do so. The force then created Anakin in opposition to Plagueis rather than as Plagueis' successful attempt. Sideous didn't even know about it, which is why Plagueis feared Anakin while Sideous merely covetted his power. However, this isva point where Disney's version may be in disagreement with the once and future canon of the Extended Universe. In a Disney era comic, Vader has a vision of Sideous creating him through manipulation of his mother's midichlorians. It seems this is meant to be what actually happened, but the artist of the comic came out and said that the vision wasn't meant as an accurate depiction of prior events, so presumeably Sideous creating him in the vision could have been merely symbolic. (Perhaps for Anakins creation as a punishment for plagues' attempts to creat life, or even for Sideous' role in creating Vader from Anakin by manipulating him from his childhood.)
Imagine Palpatine getting a backstory done competently: days of his childhood, becoming a sociopath, hungry of absolute power, his days of highschool and Naboo university, killing his abusive father, discovering the Force, meeting Darth Plagueis and becoming Sidious - whole movie ending with him becoming the Senator of Naboo. Or with the infamous tragedy of death of Plagueis and a Naboo Senator being chosen a Galactic Chancellor. A man can dream...
Sidious cared for plagueis at this time even after striking him down he still honored his master by keeping his ashes & telling his story to anakin. U could say that he saw plagueis as family
I've been thinking a lot about this recently. Imagine a movie somewhere between Joker's lines, about how the young Sheev Palpatine became the most powerful Sith in history. Perhaps it could start with his parents being scared of his powers and forcing him to hide them, so the legacy of the traditional and rich Palpatine could live on, and not being removed from history with their heir being kidnapped by the Jedi, who would erase his identity. Further in the movie, it could be revealed that his parents always hated having such a freak as son, powerful but unpredictable, which would be their demise, as Sheev would ruthlessly kill them both, becoming the heir to the house Palpatine (perhaps he could start as a count or duke). That's the moment Plagueis would feel the dark side being channeled by someone other than him, even though he killed all unworthy apprentices he had before Sheev. The rest is history. For the trailer, I imagine Plagueis saying "When Light is blinding, Darkness shall be your shelter" Waiting for you call, Disney.

(Might even be able to get like....two or three movies from it!....at least from the Star Wars faithful!...which I am!)
I would love to have some backstory on Palpatine. And I personally love how "nonevil" he was when he was younger. Sure he eventually did terrible things, but he also talks about how he wanted to ride speeder bikes as a kid or seeing the jedi as merely boring. I think that's a really cool side to him and shows he wasnt always just filled with hate and evil.
LOL, Palpatine was always a psychopath, when he was young he run someone over with his speeder bike and didn't give a shit about it and his parents had to cover it up. If Palpy hadn't learn the Sith ways or didn't had any Force sensitivity, he would have likely become a serialkiller anyway.
That part is one of my favorites in the book, one thing I noticed in the video. Palpatine didn't use a blaster to save Plagueis, he had Sate Pestage with him. Sate is the one with the blaster, Palpatine used the Force( sorry I'm big on details). Great video and yes I could see Michael Fassbender doing a younger Palpatine.
I really enjoy your channel. I like the way you put the videos together and how you narrate without putting yourself on the screen. Seriously thank you
Michael Fassbender as Palpatine, with cameos of padawan Qui-Gon, Jedi Master Dooku, young Jedi Mace Windu and youngling Obi-Wan. It could include the story the Jedi wouldn't tell you, as well as the birth of Anakin.
Star Wars Theory, thank you for making videos such as these. For people like myself that can’t afford to buy all the comics/books/novels and you bring them to life for us. Thank you.
This is what I love about palpatine he can go from being a charismatic, friendly and cunning man one moment and an enigmatic, cruel and savage man the next like when he fought maul and savage opress.
That would make a great movie actually. Palpetine a Star Wars Story. A story following a young boy with special powers, being afraid of these powers at first. He meets a man promising him help and sheev trusts him, but the man slowly corrupts him and makes him evil. And at the end we get that small plot you presented in this video and the movie comes to an conclusion after the massacre. Character devolpement with sheev learning at the end that he needs to proud of what he is and embrasing it instead of hiding it.
I totally agree. A backstory to Palpatine is definitely what the fan base has been waiting for (Matt Smith might be a good choice). It would be really interesting to see the Darth Plagueis book made into a film but also Palpatine's seduction to the dark side (which was probably short anyway considering how greedy for power he was).
