  • To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day. Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn’t have too much to say.
Well the Arizona Ranger didn’t have much to speak on, but I do. Today, everyone, today we have new piece in the old west firearm collection. However, this one is a BIG IRON. But what kind? I guess you have to stick around a find out! I think you’ll like it.

"Son, only a pimp in a Louisiana whore- house carries pearl-handled revolvers. These are ivory." ~ George S. Patton
Somehow that quote leapt to mind. Great find. Look forward to seeing your shooting videos with it.

From what I have read, the number 3 he had he did not carry, as he had ordered it and it didn’t arrive until right before he shipped out with his men. From what the literature said, it was all SAA’s in 38 colt as well. But I may be wrong!

That's a very nice piece. Great engraving. I think they make the grips nowadays out of resin.

    Well done!👍👍
This is a replica of T.R.' personal Colt by Pietta. He was also issued an Artillery Model 5 1/2" Colt SAA when entering the First Volunteer Cavalry as a Lt. Col.
Of interest is that the 5 1/2" revolvers were cut down 7 1/2", and were armory refurbished. And ser.# will seldom match.
    And I caught that 😉 there!😂
Glad you got that piece. They're very well made.👍

Teddy Roosevelt had his ups and downs financially, but was born into wealth and loved the outdoors and firearms and almost certainly owned at least one of every common model. This makes it hard to say if he carried one at any particular time. Even if he had a standard carry, he definitely had a backup somewhere nearby.

Tucco had not cleared the leather 'fore a bullet fairly ripped.
And the Saints aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip.
