I saw aurora live at the royal Albert hall a few days ago where she performed this song and she simply was sensational, only one word to describe her GENIUS ❤️
My god, I can't even express my envy. The Albert Hall set list was absolutely perfect, and the organist! 🫀 I'll see Aurora next month. If she plays a similar set, I'm going to be a sobbing mess.
@@mariafoslihansen7801 I'm sure it will be amazing, and I'm incredibly grateful to be seeing Aurora live! I just really love the set she did for this performance. I know I'll be a sobbing mess either way! 😂
Stunning performance. There are 3 versions of this song: acoustic, remix and album version. Every version is somehow different but all are great. And I think live version is my favorite. She is also always so expressive and from the very beginning (first albums) up to now she is able to take my whole attention. Aurora is an Art :).
It's tough to pick a favorite from the three, but I would probably agree that this live version is the best, because of the added visual performance element. If I was only listening, I might pick the remix version, but the album version is amazing too, so I don't know. 🤷♂
she just sung a tribute song to mari boine, "golle máze" - a 100% joik. it's really a historic moment here. hope she will do more joiks - her voice is very acrobatic in this performance. hope, many reaction channels will pick it up. thanks for your reaction, as always.
@@lillm6874 i've heard the original long time before and loved it ever since (i really like all kind of traditional music, if it is not kitschy and commercial but authentic).
Throughout my time of being an Aurora fan, I have seen so many comments saying Aurora isn't "the strongest vocalist" because she doesn't belt like Ariana, or many western pop stars. I feel like Aurora continues to challenge what people think of her artistry and abilities. I hope she changes our perception of what modern music can be.
@@GhostlyEcheveria The magic of Aurora is that she doesn't need to belt, but she can belt it out of the park if she so chooses. Her voice, she really knows how to use for it for the best effect of the song/performance. Belting is overdone by most, IMO, it is the only weapon in their arsenal and Aurora, she packs much more than that.
@@Oldperson-wt3ui I completely agree! I'm not a fan of modern pop music, and I don't agree with the vocal standard it has created. You don't need to scream constantly, like Katy Perry and Demi Lovato to be a vocal powerhouse.
I interpret this song as the earth speaking to humans. And our refusal to accept our connection to mother earth. Instead we align ourselves with "the devil" a.k.a. greed, consumerism, destruction" and give our "water" resources to these forces of evil. A soul with no king to me means you inhabit this human body, an earthly vessel but we are dead inside and not connected to the earth, like a headless chicken or a soul with no king. The final "nothing will ever change, no guilt, no shame" has kind of a sarcastic undertone - to mean that we will not change and reconnect to the true human spirit and mother earth unless we realise the guilt and shame of what we are doing and "call her name". I might be overthinking it 😅
I LOVE THIS SONG. Blew me away when I first heard it. Has such an ancient, dark sound. The stringed instrument sounds North African to me…or Medieval. Love it.
Awesome reaction -- one of your best! This is a next-level performance, even by Aurora standards. I had to check the timestamp, because I assumed you had already seen this one. She did "Some Type of Skin" in the same session, and now I don't remember if you've done that one yet. 🤔 That one is crazy good too. She's just getting better and better. I think it's so cool how we have three very different versions of this song, and yet, all three are 10/10 and very special in their own way. Definitely a highlight of a great album.
Omg, Saeed is speechless, what a blessing this is for us - no i am joking! These Vevo videos and versions of her songs are absolutely amazing and this version is for me better than the studio one.
I see you still replying to comments, you are having a hard time letting go, aren't you? As for this version, it is my favorite because her beautiful vocals are up front and in your face. Definitely agree, she is captivating and mermerizing. Thanks for another great reaction and thank you very much Dave!
I'm trying, but letting go of my goal of replying to every comment also gave me some sort of renewed energy. (But my list with unanswered comments is growing though :) Amazing rendition of this song! Speechless!

Trust me, it would be well worth your while to explore more of her music! "Some Type of Skin" from the same Vevo session would be a great successor.
highly addictive, that i can tell you.
@@tx0h Can confirm.
This is one of the best vocal performances and videos she has produced imho. Stripped down, no complex production, only her magical talent.
She is indeed commanding, enchanting. As if she is channeling a higher power. She transports me to the Queendom, as well. See you there!

she's talking about the devil and the world's love of the devil so when the world burns we will give him water to put out the flames.
i think, it's a bit more complex - no, the devil will not use the water to distinguish the burning planet - he will 'drill baby, drill, drill drill'.
