Ted Bessell was SO talented. A really great actor.
He truly was a great actor. I'm also impressed with Lew Parker. That cast worked so well together.
He plays a great drunk, that's for sure.
Lew is a riot!!! Don is a great funny actor!!! Love this episode!!! I watch it all the time.... Its so funny and a happy show.... Great writers!!! 😂😂😂😂......
Jerry's statement that he and Ruth have been married 7 years and his suggestion that neither Donald nor Ann could have known what it was like on his honeymoon run contrary to That Girl: Rain, Snow and Rice (1967) episode, which aired almost exactly 4 years earlier and involved a series of mishaps that compelled Ann and Donald to spend the honeymoon weekend with Jerry and his bride. Oh, and Jerry's bride in that episode was named Margie, not Ruthie and was played by a different actress. Obviously continuity was not a priority, but that happened a lot on these old sitcoms.
I love this episode!! It is so cute and funny!!! I watch it all the time....😂😂😂😂....
Saw it for the first time - funny!
I love Bernie Kopell. Amazing actor!
One of the top episodes especially the ending! If the series couldn't end with a wedding episode than this should have been the final one.
Impressive drunk-acting on Ted Bessell's part!
I was thinking the same thing!
This ending was so sweet between Ann & Don. Nice seeing Lew finally being nice to Donald too.
Can't watch this one and "counter Proposal" enough! What a great show.
A - Stag Party !” With Business Suits !? How 1965 🤷♀️ !!!!
What do people wear now to stag parties?
Nice casual clothes, no one wears suits unless its a formal occasion or if your work demands business suits.
It was 1971 stag party!
The first time that terrible annoying father was really great.
why was this show so funny? watched it in the late 60s 14 yrs old and still good.
I frankly think the trauma of seeing Mr. Marie in drag would have cemented Donald's fear of him into chronic ptsd
I cant stand drunks. Not enjoying this but read in comments the end is good so ill hang in there. Grew up around drunks. Ugh
Lou though ❤
I love this episode.
Bessell really was the star of this show. Marlo, not so much.
Depends on your point of view. Marlo was the driving force behind this show. It would not have been made without her. Ted Bessell was a great actor, no question. No one else could have played Donald Hollinger. But the show was all about That Girl.
Jerry Fogel X 3. Cab Calloway called - he wants his suit back. George Furth from "Blazing Saddles"!
Ann and Rhoda were the most insecure women on 1970s tv, yet they were supposed to be so independent and secure.
Coffee and drinking equals a wide awake drunk lol
Makes me cry every time - BEST ending dialogue EVER!
yeah i have a That Girl doll with Ann holding her flag
Oh, Donald!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The shaggy haircut, long skirts, they didn't go thru. Fashion change very fast
😂
Brilliant!
Is it really funny to have such a drunken future husband? If he does it once he will do it again.
Wrong.
First time I ever drank (except the sip from dad’s beer, ‘50’s child rearing) was my bachelor party at 18, underage.
Went in the Corps (Nam Vet) and drank for 4 years, got out and really haven’t been intoxicated to those degrees since and the wife is always with me. She doesn’t care if I get hammered or not. She was always the one that needed driven home.
Rarely drink more than half a beer on pizza night these days.
Oh for God’s sake, it was a stag party! One drunken night doesn’t mean you’re an alcoholic. Grow up🙄
I could always see Jerry as a minister or some other religious leader. This is the last season but I suspect that the actual wedding episode was left out of the original line up... possibly making it the very last episode but ratings was so poor that they just dropped the series at episode 24
No. Not correct.
Marlo did not want a wedding episode.
Not what the series was about.
