Good Morning Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog. You always tell us a story, and this week's story was so well crafted, the editing, the music showed us all those barmy couple of days we had late Summer. There was so much feeling. Loved the start of the vlog when Paul told Anthony what he was going to eat (Coffee Cake). The look on Anthony's face was brilliant. Loved the scene with Anthony having a towel on his forehead which made me chuckle. Anthony is such a scene stealer at times. Paul did a perfect winding, well done Paul. Loving the way you are sitting out on the tow path to escape the heat on the boat. Dexter-Dog was gorgeous as ever. And what an amazing Vlogger's party you all had. Such an uplifting Vlog. I could feel the heat of the Sun oozing from my monitor!!!! Another lovely, and well crafted Vlog. Thank you guys. Have a great week. Take care.
Morning. Re watching this made me realise how hot it was during those days on the boat. Dexter hated it bless him. Amazing how perkier he was when it cooled down. Coffee and cake! Paul! Never 😂. That was such a packed week. Loved seeing everyone at the vlogger’s party. Such a lovely bunch of people. It is comforting watching this on a cold, damp, dismal day at the end of September! Yes, when we had the hot weather, I was desperately trying to keep cool, and moaning about it (also had to stop filming for YT) but now, looking back on it, I want it again! Great video Paul & Anthony. You are genuinely one of the very nicest people on RUclips. Terrific work, take care, Paul.

Hi guys, a bit late this weekend but oh how I love travelling along with the three of you. Just watching the beautiful scenery drifting by is very relaxing. We can appreciate the work though having to get water on a regular basis. Waking up to those views each day, takes your breath away. You must be glad your hot days are over, ours are just beginning. Hey Keith. Some lovely scenery on this canal. Glad you enjoyed it too. The water, disposal of rubbish can be hard work but definitely worth it for the lifestyle we have. Can’t begin to tell you how horrible that heatwave was. Felt most sorry for Dexter but he did great. Love autumn and we are creeping further into my favourite season where the leaves begin to change. I have no idea what a Jammy Dodger is but it looked like it was made of several cookies and thousands of calories 🤣😂😅 That was a great cruising Vlog Paul. Beautifully filmed. What a lovely Vlog as usual. Passing through some beautiful countryside, really relaxing and enjoyable. Glad you three all coped with the extreme heat. Dexter's cool jacket must have really been a god send for him as it was so hard to keep the animals cool for those few days. We have cats and were wiping them down with cold cloths, but cats being cats, I don't think they appreciated it. The bloggers picnic looked like great fun and it was nice to see all the other bloggers, especially Lisa as she really is a breath of fresh air and I love her blogs. You both come across as such genuinely nice thoughtful people and it was very kind of you Anthony to help other people out the way you did and I am sure they appreciated it greatly. Hey Louise. We have really been blessed with some of the scenery we get to live in. The heat was testing lol. Poor Dexter, the jacket helped immensely. Lol, the saying cats used to be worshipped as Gods and they never forget it springs to mind. The vlogger’s picnic was great fun. Such a genuinely lovely bunch. We always try and help when we can. Never want to see anyone struggle.

Hi you three really enjoyed this weeks vlog ,I sympathise totally as I've been in Spain for the last three weeks and I hated the heat was so glad to get back to Britain and the rain the mosquitoes had a feast from me and the Sun makes me sick physically so even though I wasn't in Britain I was still in the same temperature range I only went as I was selling my apartment which iPhone for 22 years and only visited for six weeks Love to you both and Dexter of course look forward to the next blog xxx

You all need a mid sized kiddy’s pool for next summer - at the very least for Dexter to sit in and for you to paddle your tootsies in.

I’m from the east coast of Australia, but I lived in Western Australia for a few years and one summer it was between 38 and 40+ for an ENTIRE MONTH!!
All these years later and I still remember just how dreadful that was.
I remember watching the news last year and seeing how hot it was in the UK - just incredible 😳

Hi, gentlemen! Sorry to see you'd suffered so much from the July heat. Next time, Anthony, wrap the damp cold towel around the back of your neck. That works very well to help bring body heat down. What shocked me recently was the amount of rubbish that had been dumped on the towpath near the marina including a portapotti! I cycle along there between Northwich and Middlewich quite often and find it so sad that people would litter like that. Such a beautiful area.

Jamie Dodgers aren't as they use to be 😥 The biscuit isn't as nice. They were my favourite biscuit,well one of them. Trick here in Oz if you haven't got air conditioning, is putting a wet hand towel over the fan, making sure doors and windows are open. Dexter has amazing facial expressions,just gorgeous ! We have our summer just round the corner, can't wait. I have air conditioning 😉 Keep up the wonderful vlogs you lovely boys..

Well, that was fun! It's hilarious that I have to keep using my phone to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit to understand the temp! 😂 I am sitting here in Tampa Bay Florida waiting to see if a hurricane comes our way. I have stocked up on water, batteries, and trail bars and now I wait. I have actually been through some quite large hurricanes across the years (and I am looking forward to moving out of Florida when I retire to a place hurricanes never go 😁 (hurricanes are tiresome beasts) ). I hope you three have a lovely week!

I'm originally from Yorkshire but now live in Australia.
You really have to learn how to deal with 40°C days. The simplest way to get through 40° is to drink 8 beers per hour. After two hours, you're so drunk and dehydrated, you don't care!

Hey Michael. We are definitely not geared up to heatwaves in the U.K. Guess aircon isn’t a thing in most homes here as it is usually quite cold in the U.K. plus cost of energy here is horrendous. The picnic was great. Such a lovely bunch, we had a blast. Love it round here, the Salt Works is a bit dismal looking but the surrounding areas are beautiful. Hope you have a good weekend. As well as the Titanic museum Belfast is a city of festivals and there's always something going on, plus of course you have the Giant's Causeway - the North Coast of Northern Ireland is breath-taking, when friends come and take a drive along coast from Belfast through the Glens of Antrim and on to the Causeway they've compared it to the Pacific Coast Highway... no really!! 😀❤

I’m laughing watching this vlog. We are currently sitting through a hurricane Fiona which is pretty fierce with really strong winds and gallons of rain and cool temperatures and you are all sweltering in the heat! Hopefully we won’t have too much damage. Dexter is such a sweetheart ❤️❤️❤️

On a sad note, it was lovely to pass Heidi on her boat and see her at the Vloggers Picnic, but what a shame about Puddin passing. He was a real character and will be sadly missed.
Dexter is fantastic. Never mind where he is, the temperature or what he's doing. he manages to have loads of fun.
You two guys are genuinely lovely, kind and thoughtful. What a shame there aren't more people more like you in this world.

Difficult to remember that some weeks ago it was so hot. I like the idea that any cake, and especially the jammy dodger one, is "healthy", but you go on thinking that Paul ;) Lovely for Anthony to take those narrowboaters to the station. You are both so kind and think karma does come back as people are kind to you. Lots of vloggers to catch up with at the Summer Picnic, and so many dogs. Years back, I invented a way to keep cool without air conditioning.
Now, this method requires ice cubes, so I hope you have access to them.
I call my invention, “cooler heads.”
Fill a zippered sandwich bag about half to 3/4 full of ice cubes, wrap it in a flannel if you want to, and put it on top of your head, with a cap or a hat over it to hold it on.
Soon after you start it will probably feel like it’s just too cold, but be brave and leave it on. Fairly quickly your scalp will get numb, and that’s when the device really starts working.
You know, of course, that your blood runs closest to the surface under your scalp. So, as it runs past the ice, it cools way down and cools you off as it circulates through your body.
It really works!
I was working as a madrigal singer at a Renaissance Festival and almost had heat stroke, when this idea came to me, and soon all of us were wearing them and singing their praises, excuse the pun!

It's not so much the temperature in the UK - the degrees are normal for the majority of European holiday favourites - but the humidity! It's airless and uncomfortable. I do remember it like this in 1976 (I think). Great vlog as usual. 👏👏👏

Hi, guys. I'm late since I was out all day so it will be in the middle of the night for you so happy Sunday! 😊 It was like watching a scary movie when you said David was going down the lift. It was like "David, don't go!". 😮 I really appreciated you telling who some of the vloggers were at the picnic. I saw several vlogs about it, but no one really said who the other people were. Some I knew by sight but some I didn't so the introductions helped.
Glad you survived that terrible heat. I know it was bad for everyone but particularly people and dogs and cats on the boats. Fortunately it was a fairly short time but I'm sure it seemed like forever. It gets hard to function when you can't sleep well. Hope you have a perfect winter.

I went to the James Dean Festival yesterday (in Fairmount, Indiana) and I'm not used to that much exercise. 🙂 We walked a lot and I really feel it today. It was fun so it was worth it. I'm not a superfan like my friend, but it was interesting. I did sleep really well last night! 😊

I always look forward to one of you narrowboat adventures on the English canals. You guys are so nice that everyone you meet seems to become your friends. Lovely countryside. The party at the end was steller. Everyone seemed to have a cute dog, but where were the cats? PS I have seen it beautiful artwork of animals in awhile. I really enjoy the artwork.

Oh my goodness, the heat! We deal with heat in Florida for many months of the year, but we are very fortunate to have A/C. Love seeing Dexter and you all having a wonderful time with your friends.
Hey Stefani. It is weird but I think the heat abroad is different. Like when we are in Spain it just doesn’t seem to feel as oppressive. The aircon would definitely help. Not sure we have enough power for that, even with the new boat. We definitely are loving our lifestyle choice and Dexter is most definitely living his best life. Have a good weekend ❤️

Hello again, Coffee, Cake and Dexter! I had a sympathetic headache by the end of the video from how hot it looked in the UK at that time! Good thing I'm currently hiding in an air-conditioned room XD (would you consider installing air-conditioning in your new boat?) Good on the two of you for going out of your way to help your fellow boaters - the world would be a much better place if there were more lovely fellas like youses and Dexter boy! Thanks too, Paul, for those shots of those horrifyingly sinister looking industrial areas hahaha. I certainly would NOT want to be walking through there in the evening! Loving each week's vlog as they all chart how increasingly comfortable you're all getting in front of the camera + the gorgeous nature shots are getting better and better. Hello, would love air conditioning but it’s so power hungry although we would have full solar. It would also have to be a box extracted ok the roof of the boat. I cruised past that big factory the other day and hardly noticed it. Filled with water got rid of our rubbish, enjoying the September sunshine. Thanks for your kind comments.

Hey. I felt the heat all over again too re watching the vlog lol. We actually did some research into aircon for the new boat but we would need a big vent thing on the roof and a lot of power! We would always help someone if we could. Hate to think of people struggling. I am totally with you re the industrial sites. Hate them.

You’ll have to get an AC installed in the new boat, we don’t have canal boats here but there are lots of RVers who live off grid with Lithium batteries and solar panels as their only power and run an AC at least at night just to be able to sleep in the heat. Maybe if these high temperatures continue people will start using them more there.
We were hit by hurricane Fiona last week ,fortunately the only damage we had was a few tree limbs. No power or running water for three days and another two with no internet, the kids nearly lost their minds with no tablets , phones or tvs working.🤣😂
There are places that really got smashed though, houses and docks swept out to sea, others just toothpicks now. 17 dead so far but they are still looking for some missing. We rarely ever got hurricanes here but about 10 years ago the ocean temperature here starting getting hotter and that brought them closer now. This time it was as high as 11 degrees higher than normal and that makes a big difference.
