As a Filipino American I love Jollibee! Also the sausages in the spaghetti are hot dogs sliced up. I believe it was a post war thing that since hot dogs were popular and cheap from the Americans they used them as a cheap and easy protein. Also the spaghetti is made with banana ketchup as tomatoes were originally very rare so they made ketchup using banana.

Great review! Where I live in the USA, there are 3 Jollibee's within 90 minutes drive for me. The one in Skokie IL (Chicago suburb) is our favorite. Consistently the fried chicken is crisp and moist (gravy not really needed but they give us do much) and the banana spaghetti has a fair number of hot dogs especially in the family pack. I absolutely adore Jollibee and its my go to lunch spot if I'm in London. I always get a yum burger, 1 piece of spicy chicken and a peach and mango pie. ❤

I'm from the Philippines, and I've been following you for a long time for the Fish and Chips and all the good ole British pub fare. But, this is a welcome surprise.
I wasn't a massive fan of Jollibee but that may have been down to the location that I visited in Sheffield. I wasn't blown away by the chicken or the waiting time but i did really enjoy the peace mango pie, ice cold pineapple juice and the chicken sandwich. I would definitely go back for those items. Lovely to see another review Gary. Keep up the good work!
Fun fact: Fast food restaurants in the Philippines, like Popeyes, McDonald's, and KFC, have adjusted their menus to cater to Filipino taste buds. They offer spaghetti served with sweet sauce and hot dogs, along with rice, of course! 😂 Rice is life 🤭
Hi Gary I always watch your content. As a Jollibee super fan I am really grateful and impressed by your review. I was the 1st customer in Liverpool and was at the opening of Leicester Square and Earl’s Court. Been to Jollibee around the world, including Madrid, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Milan and Rome. Always impressed. Thanks again!!! Mabuhay!!!
Bing Bong ! You'll have that ringing in your ears for days Gary ! As far as Jollibee is concerned, overall I was, like you, very surprised at the quality & taste. We may have to try it ourselves on our next UK trip. It's an 8/10 from me. Nice one Gary.
Deep frying can be hit and miss because it actually pushes the water out of the product. However if I was served dry chicken then a complaint would be forthcoming. I would suggest that the speck is not being followed, ie cooking time or it's past it's holding time.
I recommended Jollibee a few months ago. I'm glad you gave it a go. My first experience of Jollibees was at Earl Court not far from the Tube station. Recently I had the Chickenjoy Meal with 2 pieces of spicy chicken, sticky rice and gravy. They are poles apart from KFC. The chicken tenders and hotdogs are either a hit or miss. I must try their famous spaghetti with chicken next time I'm back.
Thanks for the review. There's a Jollibee's in my local town and I've always walked past completely unaware of what they do. For fast food this looks pretty decent. I'll maybe "give it a go" soon.
Thanks, Gary. My wife in Chinese-Filipina. We were last at Jollibee in Las Vegas. The menu in the UK is more expansive. Sliced hot dogs are traditional with the spaghetti - super easy to make at home. As for fried chicken, I prefer the spicing on KFC. But, Popeye's extra spicy is really hot. I agree the hot dog there is pretty pedestrian. Love that you are not a food snob - crack on.
Firstly, I have to address the amazing interior and food shots taken by the Cameraman. Well done Dave, you are doing a terrific job. You are giving David Bailey a run for his money! LOL. Gary I fully agree with your favourites. The fries with the sauce and chicken would be my lunch special too. Great price for London and would as you say feed 3 or even 4. Overall with the exception of the hotdog, this it truly a beautiful meal, at a great price, especially at this location. Love to you both. S. x
Very entertaining Gary. I have never really been one for fast food but it is always good to see a quality product. That looked to be quite a feast and considering the location not expensive. Also the lack of a service charge was a nice change for you.
I love the variety of places you visit Gary... cafes . chippies.... Michelin star.. I have never heard of Jollibee.. but have now Googled to see where the nearest one is and am making plans ..but no hotdog!!!!
Great to see you again Gary. I must mention I started a well required diet on the 1 September. Had to give up all alcohol and I am having to be very careful with food (I have serious weight to lose). WHICH is a pity because I love nothing more than settling down to watch your latest video with some snacks / cheese and a can of fine polish beer. Alas today - it's a glass of water and I am cooking a chicken curry (no rice...) for later. I am sure you will be just as enjoyable... and THEN I am faced with that plate (no table!) of fast food. Well - you better give it a go, I can't :( / Spag - oh yes! / The coated chicken, really succulent - oh yes again! / The saucy chicken and fries - oh yes, looks really satisfying. / The chicken burger - ok, to me I would have liked to have seen something like a really light coating or no coating at all on the chicken. To me it looks like the coated chicken from elsewhere on the table, bunged into a bap and called a burger. But nice with gravy for sure! / Yep, Hot dog I could take or leave, but at the moment I would eat 10 of them, groan..... / That spicy chicken is the business too / And now I want that peach and mango pie - with ice-cream and topped with cream. And chocolate sauce. Hell stop me now. / Another great video Gary and I think 8/10 is very fair.
Anywhere there's a large Filipino population, the "Bee" will eventually appear. McDonalds and KFC tried competing with Jollibee on their home turf. It didn't go well for the imports. Edit to add: maybe not close to you, but there are 3 in Virginia. Alexandria, Chantilly and Virginia Beach.
sweet tomato sauce is very oriental asian :D your videos are excellent as always view of foods, good selection of menu, open minded first taste, camparison to other related chains, pricing, and a cheeky smile shows you enjoy your work. I cannot think of any improvements to your style, may you find more unexpected great cuisines and compare them
Hi Gary, great video yet again! We're very similar in how we both dont love fast food but both enjoy Jollibee. Me and my girlfriend went to the new one in Leeds when it opened and absolutely loved it. Way ahead of KFC. We did have a bad one in Newcastle but that must have been a one-off im sure. Love it!
Oh a good fast food review. Never been keen on fast food chain stores. Great review Gary. The chicken did look incredibly juicy and I have to say those chips looked good. Hope the camera man enjoyed it too. Great work by the pair of you. Thanks as always take care
Jollibee is quite popular in Philippines and they are expanding in the US and UK and their chicken is much better than KFC. It’s not a shabby restaurant and quite good for a fast food chicken restaurant.
I have a few Filipino colleagues and they all rave about this place. Now it has also received the Gary Eats seal of approval, I may have to make the trip.
My favourite Filipino dish is what every mother teaches her child - Adobo. It is so simple. I was taught this by a Filipino mum via my own (British) mum in the 1980's. Basically cook pork chunks in vinegar, lots of vinegar. Fatty pork is the best. Of course any meat is good and Chicken Adobo is popular too. There are some pathetic American versions that use a teaspoon or so of vinegar but proper stuff has to be marinated and cooked in vinegar. It is surprising how the vinegar taste disappears after a long simmer. Of course this was a way of preserving meat in the high temperatures of the Philippines without refrigeration.
Adobo is food of the gods man. Americans unfortunately are notorious for bad adaptations of other cultures cuisine's. Even when the people cooking it have it in their blood. I don't even want to talk about Italian Americans; there's a reason why in Italy we just call them American.
Hello Gary. Another very informative vlog. Haven’t got a Jollibee near us but I hope we get one soon. Chicken looked lovely and the spaghetti and sausage looked yummy and would certainly go for the chips and chicken. Watching your video last night Gary made me feel really hungry as the food looked that good. As always, a big thumbs up from me. 👍 Can’t wait for the next review…
Hi Gary, it must be extra busy with all those Aussie tourists mucking about in Leicester Square! Ha! I tried Jollibee a couple of times when I was living near San Francisco, as California have a number of outlets. For fast food it wasn't bad & I quite enjoyed the chicken. Glad you were pleasantly surprised by your meal for the most part. Only the hotdog did look quite poor. Score of 8 seemed about right when comparing to your other fast food experiences. Take care & til' next time. 💙
I have to say, there was a lot of Aussie tourist in Leicester Square, this was really good fast food but you wouldn’t want to eat it too often Erin. I really hope you are keeping well and see you soon. Please have a wonderful weekend. ❤️🌹❤️
@@GaryEats Thanks Gary! Totally agree, I'm in my mid 40s now & tend to give fast food a wide berth most of the time. As a Filipino American that pie hits hard. The only thing that comes/came close is the McDonald’s coconut hopia pie only available in Hawaii and Taco Bell had the Apple empanada, Had!
They opened one of these up in Leeds and it's fab, it's a bit more expensive than KFC but the quality difference is night and day. Glad to see you enjoyed it Gary!
Had Jolibees in Dubai and I loved it - the chicken, the gravy, the burgers etc. Just wish there were more of them across the UK like Macs and KFC, you need to go out hunting for one - that’s the issue.

Great keeping up the variety. I don’t know about the food but I agree with a couple of other comments on the seating area ie a converted toilet or a tube subway 😮
Thanks for the review Gary. My parents are from the Philippines, so i always ate Jollibee when there and loved it. I was pleasantly surprised you enjoyed the spaghetti. I'm way too conditioned to European style spaghetti and went way off Jollibee's spag it as i got older. The chicken is always very good and combining it with the gravy is the absolute winner. @GaryEats All good, Gary. Spring is starting to spring....just need some rain.❣️
I'd be tempted to "give it a go"after that helpful review 👍
Thank you very much
I really appreciate the editing at the start of the video, all the individual clips you've recorded then spliced together as your intro. It works really well.
I appreciate that!
I absolutely adore Jollibee and its my go to lunch spot if I'm in London. I always get a yum burger, 1 piece of spicy chicken and a peach and mango pie. ❤
Fantastic to hear Kitty
you missed out on the spaghetti made with ketchup and hotdogs. Now thats 5 star Michelin cusine for sure. They would do great in France where they love fine cusine
I'm from the Philippines, and I've been following you for a long time for the Fish and Chips and all the good ole British pub fare.
But, this is a welcome surprise.
I hope you enjoyed the video
I wasn't a massive fan of Jollibee but that may have been down to the location that I visited in Sheffield. I wasn't blown away by the chicken or the waiting time but i did really enjoy the peace mango pie, ice cold pineapple juice and the chicken sandwich. I would definitely go back for those items. Lovely to see another review Gary. Keep up the good work!
The waiting time was quite a while for me too, thank you Jake
The one i went to in the midlands was empty, so I had no issues with waiting times. Then again, I only got the siracha the loaded fries
Hope the cameraman enjoyed too. Much love from the Ph. Surprising really is the price- great value for money.
He did indeed and love to you too ❤️
Fun fact: Fast food restaurants in the Philippines, like Popeyes, McDonald's, and KFC, have adjusted their menus to cater to Filipino taste buds. They offer spaghetti served with sweet sauce and hot dogs, along with rice, of course! 😂 Rice is life 🤭
Hi Gary
I always watch your content.
Mabuhay!!!
That is fantastic to hear. Well done to you Mabuhay
Honest and concise review, as always. Thank you for fulfilling my request to review this place! Love Jollibee's!
No problem a great recommendation
Thanks Gary - I really appreciate your channel. I have followed up quite a few of your recent recommendations and enjoyed. Bob appetite!
That is fantastic to hear and thank you for letting me know, Robert
Bing Bong ! You'll have that ringing in your ears for days Gary ! As far as Jollibee is concerned, overall I was, like you, very surprised at the quality & taste. We may have to try it ourselves on our next UK trip. It's an 8/10 from me. Nice one Gary.
That’s all I could hear for about two days afterwards, Robert, drove me absolutely mad. I hope you’re keeping well and have a great Sunday.
Gary and a hint of a Korean pop in the background! How my universes collide!
Haha brilliant, do you enjoy Jollibee?
@@GaryEats We don't have Jollibee in Belgium as far as I know! The old "fritkot/baraque à frites" culture is not going anywhere anytime soon!
That was a really nice watch, despite the annoying ding-dong and general hubbub. Glad you found a quieter side street to finish on 😊
It was very noisy my apologies
My single biggest gripe with KFC is that their chicken is BONE dry, so good to see Jollibees knows how to cook MOIST chicken!
Completely agree, not a fan of KFC
KFC is now also tasteless
@@Papa5murf1 brine the chicken and don't let it rest in the holders for hours and hours on end
Deep frying can be hit and miss because it actually pushes the water out of the product. However if I was served dry chicken then a complaint would be forthcoming. I would suggest that the speck is not being followed, ie cooking time or it's past it's holding time.
KFC has gone right downhill used to love it. Now the quality is bad, barely any chicken and it's dry. The prices are also extortionate.
Very nice, much better than KFC
Palabok ❤❤❤❤ mix it well
Always a pleasure watching your vlogs Gary. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Glenn
Thanks for the review. There's a Jollibee's in my local town and I've always walked past completely unaware of what they do. For fast food this looks pretty decent. I'll maybe "give it a go" soon.
It’s definitely worth trying, and if you do, let me know what you think Jonny
Thanks, Gary. My wife in Chinese-Filipina. We were last at Jollibee in Las Vegas. The menu in the UK is more expansive. Sliced hot dogs are traditional with the spaghetti - super easy to make at home. As for fried chicken, I prefer the spicing on KFC. But, Popeye's extra spicy is really hot. I agree the hot dog there is pretty pedestrian. Love that you are not a food snob - crack on.
I have to say, I thought it was very good considering it’s fast food
@@GaryEats I hear you - the Jollibee in Vancouver (BC) is always packed.
This Filipina was so happy to hear your great review. I really hope Oklahoma gets one soon!!!
That is very kind, maybe one day Courtney
Nice one Gary. I’m glad you liked Jollibee. They are definitely a winner! I love it.
That’s great to hear
Firstly, I have to address the amazing interior and food shots taken by the Cameraman. Well done Dave, you are doing a terrific job. You are giving David Bailey a run for his money! LOL. Gary I fully agree with your favourites. The fries with the sauce and chicken would be my lunch special too. Great price for London and would as you say feed 3 or even 4. Overall with the exception of the hotdog, this it truly a beautiful meal, at a great price, especially at this location. Love to you both. S. x
I was surprised how busy and good the food was Sharon, and as always thank you very much xx
Another great review Gary! Very interesting and the food looked good! Thank you xx
Thank you Sarah xx 🌹🌹
Great review Gary look forward to them expanding up north.
It’s definitely worth a try
Love the videos gary. keep it up!!!
Glad you like them!
Very entertaining Gary. I have never really been one for fast food but it is always good to see a quality product. That looked to be quite a feast and considering the location not expensive. Also the lack of a service charge was a nice change for you.
This was very good, even though it was fast food I was stunned. There was no service charge.
I love the variety of places you visit Gary... cafes . chippies.... Michelin star.. I have never heard of Jollibee.. but have now Googled to see where the nearest one is and am making plans ..but no hotdog!!!!
Thank you Wendy, try to mix it up. Wait until you see the next place!
I would suggest wendy you check out the whole of Jolibee, it is know for it's recycled food, they wash Jolibee's waste then recycle it!!

May I wish you the best of luck Mark, you're going to smash it mate!
You could see that the chicken was juicy despite the coating making it look really dry. Look forward to trying it.
I've not heard of these places in the States. None around me in Northern Virginia. Looks good!! Plus, making me nostalgic for theatre tickets!
I thought they'd have quite a few in the states Patricia!
We have to in Dallas Fort Worth.
@@GaryEats2 in Dallas metro.

1st time I've ever seen Jollibee's Chicken menu! Great review, Thanks Gary!
That’s very kind, thank you very much
Moist is such a funny word. When someone says something moist I laugh for some reason Gary 😂
I do as well, Colin 😂
Strange comment Colin
Hi Gary, great video yet again! We're very similar in how we both dont love fast food but both enjoy Jollibee. Me and my girlfriend went to the new one in Leeds when it opened and absolutely loved it. Way ahead of KFC. We did have a bad one in Newcastle but that must have been a one-off im sure.
Love it!
I agree with you. It is a far better option than KFC Ryan.

I agree with you
As always... a little ray of sunshine. Good man Gary!
Thank you very much, Collette
I work with a few filipinos they absolutely rave on how good this place is haha
You need to give it a go Lukey

I have a few Filipino colleagues and they all rave about this place. Now it has also received the Gary Eats seal of approval, I may have to make the trip.
It’s good Andy
Very nice review! Keep up the good work and Thank You!

I agree 100%, nothing beats an Adobo!!
Adobo is food of the gods man.
Americans unfortunately are notorious for bad adaptations of other cultures cuisine's. Even when the people cooking it have it in their blood. I don't even want to talk about Italian Americans; there's a reason why in Italy we just call them American.
@@murraydean2371filipino bbq does and sisig 😂 but yeah love adobo. Liver and pork adobo for me

Can’t wait for the next review…
Thank you very much David, it was good fast food 👍
I really enjoyed it when i went a few weeks ago - was very surprised. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the video 🙂

I did however treat myself to a "Gary Eats" inspired fish & chips about a week ago! Hadn't had one in ages & since seeing some of your positive chippy reviews, I had a real hankering for one myself. ☺️ Thank you, yes I'm doing OK. Looking at my plans for next year, I could do with a bit more fun to be honest, in the New Year. I saw you uploaded a new video, so I'll enjoy that this evening. Take care Gary & cameraman. 💙💙
As a Filipino American that pie hits hard. The only thing that comes/came close is the McDonald’s coconut hopia pie only available in Hawaii and Taco Bell had the Apple empanada, Had!
Thank you very much for the information
They opened one of these up in Leeds and it's fab, it's a bit more expensive than KFC but the quality difference is night and day.
Glad to see you enjoyed it Gary!
This is far better than KFC in my opinion Patrick. It’s worth spending the extra money.
Had Jolibees in Dubai and I loved it - the chicken, the gravy, the burgers etc. Just wish there were more of them across the UK like Macs and KFC, you need to go out hunting for one - that’s the issue.
It’s good fast food for sure
Hot dog with chilli and cheese - fries on the side with gravy - hmmm Im going to Jollibees
Definitely 💯
There's one of these in Edinburgh.Think I'll be checking it out next time I'm there.Great review as always Gary 🙂

Gary, I think you should start your own chain of restaurants ... "JolliGary" .... "Come give our food a go" ! .... "Fresh, quality ingredients" ... "10 out of 10"

I can tell from your Italian gesture that you're shocked because the spaghetti sauce is sweet😂😂😂

Great review Gary you can see why I live in the Philippines 😂😂 their food is fantastic not just Jollibee, and it's a lot cheaper than London

Chicken box was expensive, but the other stuff was very reasonable.
Agreed Colin!
Probably where they make their profit margin.
Great keeping up the variety. I don’t know about the food but I agree with a couple of other comments on the seating area ie a converted toilet or a tube subway 😮
I understand thank you ☝️
Thanks for the review Gary.
Thanks again and love all the reviews Gary 👍🏻
Thank you very much for your wonderful comment. I really enjoyed this one.

It was delicious for fast food!
Never even heard of this place before watching Gary, i have to say all this food looked delicious. Definitely gotta give this one a go, i think Filipino people know how to cook good food. Great video, smart shirt too Gary 👍
