  • Brings back memories doesn't it?
Track from the Homeworld original soundtrack composed by Paul Ruskay for Relic Entertainment.
I mix it with in-game cincematicts. Hope you like it.
    Programs I used:
    - Fraps 3.0.3
    - MAGIX Movie edit pro 15
    - VirtualDub 1.9.9

And to think this whole story started because that satellite was pointed the wrong way. Best mistake ever.

This game is so ahead of its time. If it released this year for the first time, I would still think it was one of the best games released. No other game comes close in terms of how well made everything about this game was, from the story/lore, to the soundtrack, to the immersion and narrative, to the gameplay and designs. It’s truly the perfect game. Crazy to think it’s already been over 20 years...

This song has a meditative and wonderous story, set in the endless wakes around a celestial achievement.
I can hear the blips and beeps of the research ship, the crunchy, compressed, professional tones of my scout pilots. The dull scream of their fusion torch turning behind them. The Planet Kharak far beneath the Mothersip and Scaffold, whose colors are super aliased. The target probe combusts in orange puffs of heated gas, fading into the void and the scouts drag to a halt, chittering back into formation.
The sound plays as much a part as the visuals creating the wonderous atmosphere (vacuusphere?) of Space. It's so rich in tone and story. Textural, it's hooked me like velcro.

My favourite of all! For those interested the flute is called "Ney". That's one of the reasons I love Paul Ruskay, he really love the music of middle-east and India or Sri Lanka. That's my element...a desert planet. :-)
