I have diagnosed OCD (and PTSD as well) Not in the branch of scrupilosity per se, but I have developed dermathillomania over the years. I overthink. A lot. I live with fear most days but I am very good at hiding it, I've gotten used to it but sometimes I need to release the pent up pressure I build on my own. The thing is, I am a revert, and I find myself in the complete opposite of this video Alhamdullilah I feel at ease when I pray, I feel like theres nothing else that should be in my headspace other than Allah at that moment. I dont do my sujud perfectly, far from it, but I am enjoying learning and it honestly makes me feel that no matter what I overthink, at least I know that theres a better path for me that Allah wants me to take. I am very grateful.
Thank you so much talking about such an important thing like psychology depression, not having a healthy mind, because it's there and it's not just happening in the western world! It's also a big problem inside Muslim being. I'm a social worker, alhamdllah muslima, and I work at schools with the generation of youth and people between 18-30 and I work with a lot of muslim clients with mental problems and I can see a huge problem inside our Ummah in Germany. We have no Islamic Center for working professional with issues like this or drug addiction or suffers from any kind of things. I try my best to help them with the way of returning or focusing on our religion, but I'm not a psychologist or a doctor, I'm just a professional social worker who is giving her best to help those people with huge borders in our system. We need to establish more professional islamic centers to help them better.
Jazakallahu khair. I'm a practicing muslim revert with ocd. I pretty much try to avoid things that will push me into the repetitive cycles.. what I wasn't aware of was how it affected me in my worship, my religion. While you were speaking I was surprised because it sounded like you were calling out my behaviours and thoughts. Thank you so much for this video. This really helps alot. 🤲🤲
@Hijabigirl5388 May sound strange, but being true with yourself in trying to serve God directly with No intermediary to (he is not human nor like any of his creation). Counceling can also be beneficial but not nessesarly all. I was also taking Cyprelex 10mg / Serequeal 25mg at bedtime. How much that helped to get me out of it in large part, don't know. But keep in mind thier will always be better and worse times in your life. I wish the best for you.

Thanks for this topic I really need it. Dealing with this since I was a kid, took long time in the toilet and got scolded by parents. At the time I didnt know whats wrong with me and really sad. Up till now still cant overcome whispers totally this hurts. Until your chest feels so heavy.. you feel like cursing the satan at the same time you got nearer to the whisper. Its surreal! Anyhow I dont give up and I wonttt now just remember that wasted of water is so wrong and Allah is the all knowing, He knows exactly what we do as per our intention so ignore the whisper and go on. We will all be free from this insyaAllah, forgive us ya Allah and accept our ibadah. Aameeen
May Allah SWT cure us, it's really something exhausting. Brother this lecture is so good, I think I should write down the points, you know reminders are essential in Islam.
These thoughts are so tough to deal with especially when they challenge your morals and they make u feel like a bad person and make u think these thoughts aren’t wrong and are urs

Mine used to be so so severe when I started practising Islam, it used to take me around an hour to pray 1 prayer and wudu used to take me ages but Alhamdullilah I have conquered that. I still have wispers but with hard work and determination I believe anyone can conquere these whispers. Shaytaan is the biggest bully in this humanity and we need to learn to stand up for ourselves ✊🏾
@@ilhanyusuf3564 I struggled a lot myself but you have to have a strong mentality and ignore the whispers you get, even if they are really severe. I had an OCD in wudu. Everytime i did went to the WC and did nr1, i washed my self down stairs. But after wuduu allways felt like pee came out again and my wudu broke. My solution was - everytime i pee and wash. I put water in my hand and sprinkel all over my boxers in the front. After wudu if i feelt like pee came, i said its just the water i sprinkeld and prayed anyways. After 10 days my OCD left never had a problem since.

Not in the branch of scrupilosity per se, but I have developed dermathillomania over the years. I overthink. A lot.
I live with fear most days but I am very good at hiding it, I've gotten used to it but sometimes I need to release the pent up pressure I build on my own.
The thing is, I am a revert, and I find myself in the complete opposite of this video Alhamdullilah
I feel at ease when I pray, I feel like theres nothing else that should be in my headspace other than Allah at that moment.
May Allah grant us ease and help all of us inshallah
Mashallah. One of the most useful, productive and rare islamic/medical lecture that are available nowadays.
The most imporntant point of all long lecture at 59:10 about your nafs self wispers and shaitan wispers two separate actions..
I saved this for later, I have Religious OCD, and it caused me the worst type of Anxiety and Depression one can have.
Are u okie now , how did u overcome religious OCD I'm also going through this
@Hijabigirl5388 May sound strange, but being true with yourself in trying to serve God directly with No intermediary to (he is not human nor like any of his creation). Counceling can also be beneficial but not nessesarly all. I was also taking Cyprelex 10mg / Serequeal 25mg at bedtime. How much that helped to get me out of it in large part, don't know. But keep in mind thier will always be better and worse times in your life. I wish the best for you.
@@LavaDesertSo cured now???;;!
Muslims we really needed this education
جزاك الله خيرا كثيرا يا شيخ ❤
I couldn’t be happy that someone goes to detail in this subject! May Allah swt reward you brother!
This is so well researched coming from someone who (likely) isn't an OCD himself. Makes people like myself feel seen and understood.

Origin of OCD is FEAR!

May Allah grant you best of the two worlds for this video. Subhanallah finally we don’t just hear the words “ignore the ocd and that’s it”
Thank you very much brother I’ve learned a lot from this video. بارك الله فيك
I have been living with my in-laws for 10 years and I have always wished to get a place of my own. But nowadays it’s become an obsession and I want it so bad I keep on daydreaming about it and always thinking about it that I get headaches a lot. 4 days ago after prayers I thought mayb I’m going crazy or I’m having some mental issues and Alhamdulillah I find your video but I didn’t get the chance to watch it. I’m watching it now and I say thank you for this video and may Allah make it easy for all of us and direct us to the right path. Ameen
Now i realise why ALLAH says this

Allah has relieved me through this brother's talk.
May ALLAH bless him.
I really needed this counseling. After watching this video, my mind has calmed down. Alhamdulillah.
Lol I just finished quenching my knowledge thirst from the previous salah series and right after I can’t believe you guys started another series with Ali Hammuda! You guys are amazing! I also feel like you are targeting the youth and the older adults in such a profound and meaningful way subhanAllah..I have never listened to one episode from this channel and felt bored from the lack of interest in that topic. Every single video uploaded to this channel has been so educational and so informative, inspiring to to me I can’t put it in words. You guys are doing so well MashaAllah mashaAllah may Allah reward the entire team!
May Allah be pleased with you for talking about this topic. This is a very important topic
How did you conquered it please?
The same thing used to happened to be I would keep repeating my wudu till the water used to hurt my nose😢.
@@ilhanyusuf3564 I struggled a lot myself but you have to have a strong mentality and ignore the whispers you get, even if they are really severe. The more you listen to your thoughts, the harder it gets to ignore them. You have to convince yourself that your thoughts are delusional and discipline yourself So may Allah Azzawajal make things easy for you and protect you from these whispers Ameen
This particular topic is very well thought. Yes, we experience that kind of doubt sometimes but mind you, Shaitan will always, always a clear enemy to us. Whatever we do he will give us doubt. So, when we have that doubt counter it with your thoughts that Allah is out lord.
Assalamu alaykum my dear Brother. I cannot thank you enough ! But I know that Allah can reward you for the aide you are giving to this ummah ! BAARAK ALLAHU FEEK !!!!!
May Allah accept your efforts and make them accessible and beneficial to all who need it...and send the salah and salam upon our Rasul Allahuma Ameen ♡

I’m a Muslim sufferer from OCD for 10 years and have experienced 3 different subtypes now and I’m so thankful for you for doing this. Thank you.
May I ask you which 3 kind of OCD
What kind of subtypes? Please share so we can relate
SubhanAllah Allahumma barik
Very good that's the only way to fight OCD by ignoring it. May Allah continue to grant you shifa.
Alhamdulillah...thank you Sheikh. This is soooooo very enlightening because yes definitely we all struggle with the whispering and thank you for how to deal with them ❤❤
Alhamdullilah for such spectacular reminders ✨✨
