***** Maybe this game isn't as popular. It's better than MK vs DC. Not as a fighting game but just as a game in general of being an adventure game. You get sucked into the story more. The story line is definitely better.
I'm just going off of what other fans speculated as a reason the sequel to Shaolin Monks was not made. And I already knew from the start that MK vs DC was gonna flop (I mean the premise itself doesn't make any sense considering the fact that Mortal Kombat's notion of good is different from the lawful goods of DC superheroes plus the only lawful good characters I would even know of AT THE TIME were Raiden and Liu Kang, I know a lot of the good guy characters have more flawed qualities to them than those two)
Liu Kang vs Super Man? Rayden vs Bat Man? Really???? Yeah, I knew it as well. I never took it seriously. But the people who do are the ones that love fighting games. But the creators themselves seem to forget how far video games have come due to storylines being detailed. And MK Universe vs Mortal Kombat universe is just none sense.
This MK game was so fucking awesome. This game was 1 of the main reasons i kept my PS2 . They need to put MK Shaolin Monks in the PS Network or atleast remake it 4 PS3. Who argrees with me? Give me a thumbs up if u do

God the amount of times me and my cousin died during the Shao Kahn boss battle is insane. And then we realized his pattern and it became somewhat less of a bitch. But i would love to see this game's gameplay style get revived in future MK games. Imagine MKX with this gameplay style as it's story mode. Would've been a lot more interesting than what we got imo.

Shao Kahn mercilessly kicked my ass and I eventually gave up after days of trying. That was 11 years ago, so I'm positive I'll be able to now.
I loved this game...didn't have anyone to do co op with but single mode I played constantly and it had serious replay value. I'd beat the game as all 4 characters just for the hell of it. wish they would've had more than 4 or made a sequel but still great game... especially if u were getting tired of the same ol tournament fighter game setup

MK9 is perfect because it doesnt include any of the shitty deception-armaggedon add on characters (such as yushinko, cobra, mavado, limei, tanya or any of that shit), its good old MK characters. MKX is look promisiong.
Go to a Game Stop. Actually that's if your Game Stop still sells PS2 systems. Since PS2 has been discontinued most Game Stops don't sell PS2 anymore. Idk if Best Buy still sells PS2 either lol. But the Game Stop around my area still sells PS2 and they sell them 4 only $20.

I honestly thought this game was great. Good boss variety (fucking Baraka killing him is like a button tapping test your might that doesn't end for 10 minutes until you impale him with both swords allowing you to finish him) the multilayer was tricky but if you and your partner know your stuff it's easy there was a point where me and my brother could be the last 3 bosses in and row without getting hit (hard because your health is shared too) I got everything in the game except for the secret fight with ermac and there's a pillar in the haunted forest you have to flame throw a statue enemy through but it's across a lake and you have to use a running throw. So hard to execute. Hope they remaster this sometime or give us one in the Era of X and 9

I remember busting our asses for 2 hours trying to beat him, and when we drained his health bar, there was another stage! And we died and it restarted to him before taking any damage. We got so mad, we rented the game so we had a limited amount of time. But that game was awesome with a friend. :D Fatalities ftw.

Though this isn't the worst game ever made. The things I have to say is that the combat is very dull, theres a lack diraction so you could get lost but the story, characters, graphics, sound and blood and gore are great. But I woulden't rebuy though

The cheat code to unlock Mortal Kombat 2 on the xbox is to hold the white button and input: X, Up, down, right, left, black, x
