Oh this broke my heart. That's the way it goes sometimes. It's no fun if its all sunshine and kisses. You still got all the loot on the Skylark, and the memory of that beautiful coup de grace on that strike group.
I'm going to officially request that you create named variants for your missile loadouts on your Yars, rather than just endlessly adding additional unnamed variants. So for example "Wiffle Bat 15P", "Wiffle Bat 15PN", "Wiffle Bat 15", "Wiffle Bat 15N", etc. Then when you reload you can just click on the appropriate variant.
Man.. 1.3 is brutal sometimes.. That first SG came with the entire gathering fleet’s supply of proxy fuse ammo. And, I think your palsy’s itself killed it. Since palash just fires a burst of projectiles with a tiny range.. missiles don’t explode for a second after launch, and That didn’t quite seem as big of an explosion as a standard missile one.. So I think your palash just shredded its engines since it lost control. Guess that tiny range shotgun blast they make does a ton of damage. Neat
I like it how honestly you treat the mistakes that happen, but still manage to turn things out in a victory at the end. Keep it up, I'm really enjoying your videos. :)
I play all my games like this, even XCOM. I know I could reload, but it can lead to some really satisfying comebacks. If the game isn't too punishing...
Its a real bummer the buttons are so close and there is no confirm. RIP Zero Sum On a brighter note, you are doing a great job with the LP. Its so easy to listen to you while working and glancing at the screen when things get intense. You do sych a great job breaking down your thoughts, plans, actions, and sharing your mistakes with us. Thank you so much for all your time and hard work you put into your videos. Looking forward to the rest of the saga. Cheers
@@Phrosphor true, yet I've noticed you said if you retreat it instantly kills your ship, the ship was already destroyed that's the whole point of the game not showing you the "continue" button.
Damn I'm getting through really fast. The reason I watch other people playing is that I just can't force myself to enjoy the gameplay after certain situations like missing 6 missiles in a row or missclicking retreat, I really like watching "imperfect" moves, but my story should be perfect, only cinematic mistakes allowed. Loosing and having hard times is ok, but no way I'm not clicking alt+f4 after death of my favorite hero fighter. Makes it damn hard to finish some games with such approach. Anyway, hope to discover a lot more content but Highfleet from you
One more thing, if you ever wondered what do some of the non translated voice lines mean, it's basically group leaving the fleet (always nicknamed "the First") and the fleet itself saying "Good luck First", "First arrived", "Well come back, First" and "Roger that, First" to each other
Now I'm a bit confused about a possible optimal configuration for my main battlegroup. Sevastopol is by default the main unit. Then I was thinking of adding both a carrier corvette and a missile corvette. And ultimately a single close-in defense corvette or in alternative a tanker. Since strike groups must have interceptors and air superiority units, this looks to me the best balance possible. 🤔
That sounds like a good comp. I like a fast Interceptor/Bomber, a Tanker/EWar frigate and then a carrier nearby in theatre to drop a large wing on an unexpected problem.
OK, I know this whole "too much rain" thing might _seem_ bad but it's not! You just gotta adapt to the increased rainfall. I live in an area where rain is very frequent, it's gonna be okay guys. Remember: _You don't need the moon._ Rain is good.
11:11 - On ships that have one maneuvering engine on each side and no static engines, like these two, they're dead if you take out one of their engines. For example cutting that right engine off of the Nomad is a kill. No need to target the bridge, etc. I don't know if it would be easier to hammer the side of the Negev to kill an engine than shooting through the bottom. Someone brought the game's requirement for an engine on each side to maintain flight to my attention, so just passing that along. :)
I wish Palash reloaded for us like it does for the enemy. I am tempted to try a knife fighting Palash armed ship to see how good the penetration on it is. To the ShipBuilder!
I really haven't messed with incendiaries either. I feel like in theory they might be a good way for small-caliber guns to fight back against bigger ships, since Cruisers and some Frigates tend to have huge fuel tanks?
"Oops I did it again." I request that at some point a ship gets the name Britney in memory of the 0Sum.
I have added this to my name list!

Love it that your humble and honest about what works and what doesn't. It's the journey that counts. Your doing great. Keep it up! You got this!
We will make it, we still have plenty of resources and the core fleet is still in great condition.

RIP ZeroSum. We barely knew thee
A solemn moment for sure. Very upset.

Thank you very much for all your kind words! It really means a lot. I can't wait to see what turns this campaign makes next.
Don't beat yourself up! There should really be a "Are you sure you want to retreat?" message...
Couple of UI issues with the game, but it's still utterly amazing.
@@Phrosphor true, yet I've noticed you said if you retreat it instantly kills your ship, the ship was already destroyed that's the whole point of the game not showing you the "continue" button.
My like and Comment. The best thing to do is to take out the easiest ship first then you have 1 less ship firing at you!
On the plus side all the loot from the strike group is still on the Skylark.
Need that cash!
Defeating an enemy with their own missle is brilliant.
It's literally my favorite thing if you can pull it off.

Thanks again for posting these, it's really made me a lot more confident in my content.
Later on KK patches the game so these lines are in english, nice to know they are similar!
Don't say it... Don't frakking say it...
*"Don't click retreat"* *CLICK*
... Well that just happened ...

Yeah, you'd think that they would name it "Surrender" if it just means you lose all your ships. Retreat would mean that you actually leave the fight.
Yeah this really frustrated me when it happened. Not a mistake I will make again at least.

@@Phrosphor Yeah, especially since there are more of them than us. I look forward to seeing your Palash ship in action. :)
That Nomad was hanging on a thread !
These ships sometimes crumble to a breath and sometimes last forever, it's crazy!
This is why manually saving the game before a high risk battle or any battle...oh well we live and learn twice..

F for Zero Sum
F for firing flares
Palash based attack craft when?
If only they weren't so expensive! And unlike the opfor Palash, ours is only one use per battle. Theirs regenerates.
Thank you, I needed a hug after this recording.
@@Phrosphor Well, look on the bright side, now you can name a ship "R&R". Also good to see that you still have high morale in 20 :).
*#GlassCannon* 🥀
*Zero Sum Mk2* incoming! 🙂
If I had had those 100mm guns like I wanted...
If it makes you feel better I've done the same thing.
The words are so similar!
No views, no comments, no likes? Well.. I'm very early.. Huzzah!
You got a first!
Sorry bro
When you rush and stress you misclick :(
My curssseee
Keep it up! You can make it without this guy!
Yes we can! We can do it!
