Hopefully with the new company merging with Six Flags, they’ll start making improvements to the part. What also has to happen is the area around the park needing to be improved. There are a lot of roach motels, flop houses, and seedy establishments. Not to mention a rough neighborhood is not far away.
If the Rangers & Cowboys haven’t been able to clean up the area, I don’t think a theme park chain can.

The Superman one was fake lmao
The reason the rafts started flowing away was likely due to the operators E-Stopping the ride, which is done when people fall into the water, when a E-Stop happens it cuts power to the pumps which results in the water flowing back into a retention pond. And watching the video its easy to tell the raft was taking on water, however, the trough of those rides is so shallow even if a raft sinks it will just stick to the bottom and you can easily stay inside the raft and be secure. The passengers did not do that which resulted in them ending up in the water, which made one of the ride operators E-Stop the ride, which caused the water to start moving back towards the retention pond. If that kid had not been saved by the other person, that would have ended a lot worse.
Long story short, stay inside ride vehicles unless an operator tells you to leave.
Exactly. That's why the rafts moved backward. They just float back toward retention or til they bottom out. Whole cause of the deal was the boat stuck in the middle from having a burst bladder. The boat has other bladders that kept it afloat. When more than 2 boats got stuck there, the weight of the pushing rafts against the stuck raft probably lifted it causing it to take on water. Ride should have been estopped the min the 3rd boat got hung up in there and an operator should have been there to calm the riders and explain that their boats would float backward etc etc
@@parker02311 Those are all facts that we know, and most importantly Six Flags know, but not the guests on the ride. They were in a situation that to an untrained eye seemed dangerous. The park needed to make an announcement to the people on the ride letting them know to stay inside the raft and that the situation was under control. For all they knew the water was deep and the boat could capsize.
Oh man, thanks for the update! Honestly, six flags needs to step up on their maintenance.

Six flags over Texas has been in the new alot. Also has cedar point been in the new alot of bunch of negative things. I just hope that the New Six flags corporate well start fixing everything and improving things over Texas has an potential to becoming high till park in the chain. Great video have a great day

I did go to Six Flags Over Texas three times this year and it was fun, but it definitely needs improvement.
On Roaring Rapids, the boat that was stuck also had a section of the raft that was deflated which played a part in the raft getting stuck in the first place. Only one section was deflated so the raft wouldn't have sank but you can see in the video the raft is very close to taking on water where the step is that the people start exiting from. Now take that into account... You're stuck and have been for quite some time, your boat is about to start taking on water and no one from the park has even addressed the situation or given you instructions on what to do. Of course people are going to panic.
Exactly. Some reassurance and explanation would have gone a long way here.
At this point with the arrival of Neo Six Flags aka Cedar Fair, I'd offer Ron McKenzie the park back. The man made Fiesta Texas the park it is today that Jeffrey Siebert has continued. If he was able to improve it for a period, he should be able to get Six Flags Over Texas back to a decent level again since he already knows the problem areas, and he had plans that were cut short.

I forgot if it was Ron but a park president for Sfot said that he would re paint every roller coaster. Titan and the mine trains really need that

@@JBThrillsthey are six flags has board members only at the top so should be from what was told to stock holders cedar fair is going to put what they learned from quality and theming and working on the six flags parks to bring them up to a certain standard so six flags parks according to there plan are going to get most of the investments which is so dope

SFOT has been “my park” for my entire life (I live an hour away). It’s been going downhill for a LONG time. Ride cars aren’t being updated, etc. Hopefully the merger gives more cash flow to fix that.
I really hope that the merge helps over Texas cause the park would do wonder with cedar fair operations and better kept park

It was Six Flags that was the problem. The new Six Flags under Cedar Fair will improve safety measures.

I used to work at Six Flags Astroworld/Waterworld and thunder river was our river rapids ride it was safe and never had anything like that happen..
Thunder River was the first river rapids ride.

every time i go mr freeze is shut down/gets shutdown when im in line and they make us wait a long time just to say it’s suspended. one time i went most rides were down like titan mr freeze riddler etc so it wasn’t super fun. on 4th of july i was on texas giant & it got shutdown down when it ended, had us stuck there 30+. min but gave us a flash pass. after i went to riddler and the lights turned off mid ride. they need to work on making the park better.
The power of tower incident happened a while ago and they resurfaced the video but it was a while ago.

Bro one time I was on shockwave and when we were pulling in to the station someone was yelling “SOMEONE IS DANGLING FROM SUPER MAN” and then I see on you’re vid someone dangling from super man AND WHATS CRAZY when they said that that was a loooooong time ago when they said that someone was dangling from super man and this was not a loooooong time ago
The Superman video was an optical illusion. With how far away the people were from the ride and the position of the riders made an illusion that someone was hanging from the seat. After the ride lowered in the video you could clearly see the rider sitting properly in the seat.
I was at six flags a week ago or so and I was in line for aquaman but they shut down the ride because a panel came off

This park needs help its the first six flags park to open and its neglected. Hopefully the merge save this park its got good history but it has its travestys
The roaring rapids have had another incident that could have happened to the rapid riders as the raft once flipped and drowned all the riders atleast this wasn’t the outcome of those riders
Those types of water rides need to be retired already. It’s difficult to reuse the space, but they need to focus on that already. Someone can come up with something.

By unbuckling the seat belt. But the video did not show people slipping out. It showed people jumping out. Or did you mean Superman?
This is the reason why Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merged... Cedar Fair is a better Company than Six Flags
You're wrong on Roaring Rapids. Before a boat gets stuck that long, you send a ride operator to keep guests calm. These riders know this ride killed someone in a very similar situation. After there are six boats in the area one operator comes casually walking up with a ring buoy. Then just sits it on the ground. When a ride calls the office it takes a while for maintenance to get there. The dispatches on this ride is super slow. If you have six boats there the boat on the point has been there a looooooong time. The riders know, it was all over the news again and again, that a boat flipped and drowned someonein a similar situation. What do you expect when there are no operators in sight. Others were fortunate not to drown to death too. Wouldn't be surprised if the people trying to get on the dock were non swimmers. I've worked on one of these at a different theme park. Couldn't believe this video.
The fact that the employee didn’t know what to do also proves the quality is slipping if employees are not being trained in this it basically points to the higher ups for the blame but I was only pointing out from what I see in the video thanks for the further insight
@@JBThrillsi'd blame Selim, this man came in and started destroying what little good was left in SF. Last earnings calls they were talking about merging maintenance with engineering to save money and the investors were concerned about that.
How many rafts do they run at a time? If you're sending rafts away and they're not returning, eventually you run out of rafts to send. Surely that's a clue that there's something wrong?
