According to the manual the two dash lines are the gauge for the oil level, the one to the left is the minimum and the one to the right is the max, going past that dash line on the right means that you are overfilling the engine
Imagine adding one liter over the max, as suggested in the video…

Why would BMW not stick with the old tried and true very simple ,foolproof oil dipstick? What happens if the sensor becomes defective? Just guessing but I bet it would cost over $1000.00 to replace that oil sensor if it breaks. Sometimes new tech is just not needed.
Negative. New sensor is about 60.00, and it can be replaced during an oil change in about 30 seconds.

If you want to inspect the oil there is always some on the filler cap. Especially after it has been running.
There will be a coolant Reservior it won’t be clear it will be black with a big hand sized screw top. MRT

Sensor not functioning properly? For only $800. a BMW dealer will replace it. Why the heck would BMW eliminate a simple functioning oil dipstick with a complicated sensor system?
Replace the sensor. New sensor is like 60.00, and it can be replaced while doing your oil change in about 60 seconds.
Why Germany lost the war...best weapons and tanks just had a high failure rate...too complex

After measuring for a few moments mine stops measuring without yielding a result. Why would it do that?

Similar to Mercedes,rubbish idea,give me a dipstick any day.Done in a tenth of the time.

What if the engine can’t start how do you check oil level? I think this is a very stupid idea where you can only check oil if engine is running
If your engine can't be started, knowing the engine oil level is pointless.
well i guess dads new bmw get put on the lift and a dip stick fabricated / installed i hate new car my old mk3 supra is still fine engineering in my option jaguar xk level in a lot if not most ways
