They lowkey gave all of us a good ending of the Barney. We all saw him holding his daughter and getting emotional, but to actually see him here as a changed man who upheld his vow to change for his daughter brings peace to HIMYM diehard fans.
One of the main reasons I don't watch HIMYF is that I know I will always compare it to HIMYM. Which will ruin the show for me. Even though the first season was okay, in my opinion, 10 episodes weren't enough for me to get invested in the cast. But with scenes like these show how great a proper spin-off can be. The original cast gives the new guys some good advice to be remembered but not enough to overshadow the new guys.

People say the "Awesomeness and smoothness" is gone. I genuinely feel like that's the people who saw the show recently. Watching him way back in 2010-11 to now. As i have grown up myself. I can appreciate what wizard of a actor he is, that we know he is Barney. But he is not the barney we saw for all those years.

Would be a pretty fun twist if Barney turns out to be her dad. Would be legendary if that was the case. That way he'd be a recurring character on this series and I'd actually watch it again.

This is a satisfying answer for those saying that they undo Barney’s progress by getting him divorced. They clearly showed him fall in love on first sight with his daughter, stayed up all night caring for her, told off those girls at the last MacLaren scene, and now this. Sure, Robin shifted him, but his daughter (that probably wouldn’t even exist if he stayed with Robin) was the biggest shift to his world
I don't mind the divorce because I felt like there was a valid reason for it. The two drifted apart because Robin's career took up all of her time. That happens to a lot of people. What I didn't care for was having Robin and Ted end up together as if that ever worked before. It was character degression for both of them.

I don't care about the divorce happened. I think there should have been more than just yeah we can't be together because of my travelling..if that's the case there's no guarantee even ted and Robin would work
The problem with that it’s that it’s lazy. The “character who has terrible habits but changes when they have kids” trope has been used countless times and it’s just lazy and boring. It was much better to see him change because he actually fell in love with someone.

tbh I always believe the spin off should be Barney raising his little girl, with cameo from the crew. Instead CBC keep trying to remake the premise of HIMYM
@@nicklatallade9344Nah he still had that character arc after he got his daughter, and honestly I prefer this arc tbh, its not as good as him being with Robin, but it makes more sense, he completely became a different person when with Robin, while with his daughter he’s desperately trying to change and keep his old personality

I'm praying that by the end of the remaining 9 episodes of this season we get a cameo from Ted and Tracy. Season 2 takes place in 2023 and 2024 is the year Tracy dies, so this is really our last opportunity to get more scenes of them together and they're so perfect that it'd be such a waste if we didn't get it.

I still like to believe that HIMYM’s ending was truly the alternate ending when Ted’s wife didn’t die, Barney and Robin stayed together as the original ending is disgusting. But had to click on this anyways cause Barney is amazing, but yea, in my mind, Barney and Robin stayed together because they are better together than Ted and Robin
Good thing this show got cancelled so now we can go back to considering the alternate ending as the real ending
I only watched this series when it first premiered..and remember that Robin made a brief cameo in Season 1,but hadn’t watched season 2 and heard that Barney made a cameo as well..This is everything I coulda asked for and more..I’m not entirely big on HIMYF which is why I chose not to continue it..but this is the send off to Barney that was rlly needed
Just imagine. Jesse calls and invites her to her place she takes Barney too just for company and while walking to the apartment Barney starts breaking down and when he enters and sees her group of friends in that apartment he has flashbacks of his golden days. Maybe that’s what life is, in life time flies good times becomes memories before we realise it.
This was the better og cast cameo. Love Robin but Barney was so great. This show is on it's way to being similar to the original show but with its own twist.
The 2nd season was a lot better than the first I wonder if we’re gonna meet an original cast member at the end of every season I think lily will be next
I believe if the original cast will do a cameo, ted (josh radnor) will be the last. Kinda excited about it! And yes, i think the 2nd season was better than the 1st season, it's fun.
I'm glad someone here mentioned that. After the first season I could take it or leave it and I only cared because it's the HIMYM universe, but a good portion of season 2 had episodes genuinely reminded of the magic of HIMYM and I honestly think it is a lot better.

Finally having Barney recovered and being a dad, Marshal and Lily dealing with their careers and marriage, and Ted and Robin enjoying being back together.

Technically, Friends already has a spin-off called Joey, about... well... Joey. Unfortunately they cancelled it after only 2 seasons. I really like it tho. Defo much better than the spin-off (or sequel whatsoever) of HIMYM and Full House even tho Joey only has one character from the original show.

This clip makes even more sad HIMYF. You can see the star of the old show, one of the most talented actor, comedian of our age in a cameo role. And the acress who supposed to be the main character in the new series, putting everything into context. And she feels like a junior actress in some cheap series or in an improvisation section in a late night show, while Neil Patrick Harris feels like a pro actor.
I really don't know how it happened. If the script, the director, the actress, the cameraman made it so bad. But it does not feel natural, entertaining. So sad

This is not the Barney from before, which is understandable but he’s also boring now. Gotta remember this is a show and its meant to be entertaining, when it becomes this serious it feels too real and I got enough of that in my life. I watch shows to escape the realities and Barney used to be fun at that.

I think it was intentional; like Barney's older and more mature, now. Less frenetic than he was before his daughter was born.
This show is horrible. It can't stands on its own. They keep on bringing older characters just to keep it on life support.

Still hate that this further canonises Barney's regression in that garbage original ending which, to me, isn't canon, but love seeing Barney back, at least.
