      Legacy is a really fun competitive format for that reason. I play Doomsday and frequently win games with 1 life. Most of that is self inflicted, but it makes opponents feel like they were 1 attack away from winning.

If he doesnt keep up spell pierce, then t2: Fetch -> Breach -> Petal -> Recast petal exiling ponder + 2 fetchs -> Brain freeze for 12 and win from there. Of course this is with the knowledge that mengu doesnt have any interaction in hand, but it shows how powerful and fast storm is that it can win t2 with only 1 piece of fast mana.

    I used to play it in an reanimator shell with unmasks, LEDs and unburial rights + griselbrand.
    In that deck you even had the fun play of therapy your own grisel. Young pyromancer + Dread return isn't half bad either. Dark ritual, some exhumes. Had burning wishes for some pretty sneaky silver bullets or surprise storm tendrils win.
    Wouldn't work in today's legacy but it was good enough to take to events in it's day. Delver has it beat by a mile but occasionally you'd rip the unmask T1 grisel and just instantly win through force. Or ritual, thoutseize, reanimate. Or LED into unburial rites. Young pyro was so strong you'd occasionally find yourself just reanimating him and ripping the opponent's hand apart.

But the real feature match is coming, the Flash Hulk match I feel will have the most view, and if in the game itself doesn't go off there needs to be a side video or a segment talking about how it fully works. This video doesn't do breech justice, that was by far the worst Breech deck to possibly pilot. The real Breech combo was a UWR deck with Silence and Force of Will backup that formed a one card combo with Intuition. You'd cast Intuition at intant speed for the missing pieces of Underworld Breech, Lion's Eye Diamond, Brain Freeze, and Sevinne's Reclamation. With that on your opponent's turn, it then untaps and wins on the following turn by milling itself, then looping Lighting Bolt to deal lethal, no storm necessary. It could then pivot to Jeskai Mentor(a teir one aggro deck at the time) and completely ignore the graveyard. When I was playtesting my match win rate was a bit over 70%, absolutely unhinged levels powerful.

    Jamin played well but he had a though opposition against none other than the hero of the people ... ANDREA !!
    Also, I am again realizing that consistency is, again, king in these matchups ... that;s the main weakness of combo decks like breach storm.
    Still, it was a good matchup.
    PS: I would like to see a match between andrea and Carl using the deck that won against ... THE SUN !

    Grixis Delver replacing my beloved Canadian Thresh in the Legacy meta still makes me sad, saddest moment of my MTG career was looking at my CT deck and debating whether to pack it away and switch to something else, or try to tough it out in this cruel new world. (We stuck with it. Nimble Mongoose will continue to win games whether Delver likes it or not)

    • @CardmarketMagic
      @CardmarketMagic  Месяц назад

      Jeskai was more of a metagame version. In a blank field, the grixis version with all its discard was MUCH stronger in the blind, which we really saw in the Swiss. I don't know if the jeskai version would have made the top8

    Sorry for dumb question but when Storm count is 4, and you cast the Goblin spell, does that add 4 copies of the spell, which makes 5 copies and 10 tokens? Sorry I don't know MTG or Storm.

    • @omologo95
      @omologo95 Месяц назад

      Yeah. You get a copy of the spell for each stormcount previously, then the spell itself resolves after (so storm count 4 means 5 copies, storm count 9 means 10 copies etcetc)
