Thanks Nick. I love your passion for what you're doing! It was fun putting this video together with you. I hope the ideas will be helpful to your viewers.
Ok that Gecko is now on my shopping wish list. Just need a little more cash and get past my daughters wedding in a few weeks and im buying that sucker. Great episode
thank for the link to this video Rick. all these Products seem very good. since I dont own an extractor at the moment I can be okay with maybe spot and ds2 ? also on the gecko for a future purchase do these hold up very well ? Is there a lot of maintenance that goes into keeping an extractor like this running for. along time ?
Ive used encap tech for five years. It has its uses for sure. There are hot water shampoo products that have encapsulation tech in it too so it does not wick and is ultra low foam.
This was very useful information for both professional detailers and weekend enthusiasts just trying to use effective products for interior fabric cleanings. I will definitely be trying out that extractor solution. I like the fact you use an effective chemical as a rinse which neutralizes the carpet cleaner of your choice (or theirs). One thing a lot of detailing enthusiasts don't realize is that if you don't neutralize the carpet cleaning solution, you will almost always get re-soiling of some sort. It may not be immediate, but it will come. Extracting the solution with plain water does help somewhat, but it will usually leave behind some of the cleaning solution (reduced in strength though), but that extractor chemical he was talking about NEUTRALIZES the cleaner. That will keep your fabrics CLEAN and drastically reduce the chance for a re-soil situation.
How do you go about using hot water for each job. Like do you go through the whole 32oz bottle for a car?! Also if you have leftover warm water, how do you reheat it for next time?!
You know?! That's a great way to put it. Encap DS2 is the onr of carpets. Sometimes you might need more firepower, but for most jobs it is amazing and it is incredibly versatile. Great observation !!
Great find, Nick, really opened my eyes for these encap products and their unique potential for detailing. Great that you got the mastermind (he seems to me) behind these kind of products on the channel. HOWEVER, you asked the wrong questions IMHumbleO. I would have loved to know when, and HOW to use these products, instead of extracting. Or maybe how it could replace extracting alltogether, because I think that absolutely sucks for cars. To my understanding, these products have to be applied to raised carpet fibres, agitated and then left to dry. Next they have to be vacuumed up. But what can one expect to get done with this? Carpet stains? Coffee spills? Oil leaks? When do we use the Hydroperoxide variant? Get him on a second time, really try to pick his brain, take an hour or 3. There is great potential in these kind of products, they kind of remind of Optimum No Rinse, only then for carpets.
I can tell you, on nasty cloth seats and or carpets. Nothing beats extraction. I prefer bio break and flex ice as my go to for those situations. But, my hack is this...on black carpets, use encap clean ds2, steam and compressed air and you can get away without extraction. I still love encap spot for mystery stains no matter what the color or fabric...
A word of caution: using a 3 gallon extractor with this particular encap and your recovery tank will be full of foam which will lead to premature failure of the vacuum motor. So, use defoamer with Releasit or a larger extractor. (or just order an extra vacuum motor when you buy a new 3 gallon spot extractor LOL) We repair extractors x 20 years and see early failure from detailers every day. @coswaysupply
Is it only a big deal if you use ds2 as a pre spray? I know they offer a de foamer but I have never used it. I use ds2 as a pre spray (followed by extraction) occasionally. If I'm using an extractor chances are I have a traditional pre spray though like bio break and then flex ice in extractor
Using Encap-Punch with a 3 gallon extractor works awesome, with no foaming issues at all. Encap-Punch is an encapsulation detergent that's designed for hot water extraction applications.
@@HawkProDetailing Yes Nick only a big deal if (a) using DS1 or DS2 as a prespray and (b) having a small recovery tank like the Mytee Tempo, Mytee 8070 or similar.
@@HawkProDetailing You'd be better off using Encap-Punch in a pre-spray / extraction scenario. Encap-Punch is a low foaming detergent. It is powerful enough to perform well as a pre-spray. It can also be used right in the extractor tank. And it encapsulates beautifully.
Look -- I think it's important to remember hot water extraction is the BEST way to clean carpets deeply. You will need an extractor and high ph pre spray for some jobs -- cloth seats or nasty mommy vans with spills, for example. Make sure to use a neutralizing rinse in your extractor. It's a tried and true process. BUT. DS2 can sometimes get you equal cleaning results either alone with no extraction OR as a pre spray and then you extract after (this is just a great step for overall cleaning -- to rinse out carpet of all gunk and residue etc etc).
@@HawkProDetailing I plan to get a new extractor, I think my pump went on my non heated mytee from freezing weather. I had the 1st generation S300 (example) www.detailing.com/store/mytee-tempo-upholstery-and-carpet-extractor-s300.html. May cost more to repair then to purchase a new one.
I have a link in description. I dont make anything off these lol. I love encap spot and DS2 - I would start there! Look up Excellent Supply if you cant find link 👍
Dont overthink it and get the red one:) Encap DS2 is all I really use. I've tried the others *encap punch and encap hydrox* and didn't really see them working for me as a detailer. I'm sure they work but all you really need is encap clean ds2 and encap spot
I’m a mobile auto detailer, and looking for a product that will work best for anti-wicking… I’m sold to the Encap DS2 based on the comments, but I’ve been looking for over an hour on how to use the product in a detailing scenario shampooing carpets/seats in a vehicle… I have an extractor( Aqua Pro ) & drill brush to agitate stains… how would this product be used, inside extractor, as a pre spray in a bottle then agitate, or a whole different method? Any answer will help and encourage me to the purchase of DS2, thanks in advance.
It seems like he's comparing this machine to a Mytee 8070. It seems like this machine compares more to the S300H. Because this particular Gecko machine doesn't compare to the 8070 at all. Also, I know this isn't relevant anymore but when I bought my 8070 I paid a whopping $800 and some change for it brand new from a company online... i just went to check and now they're selling for $1000+ not sure what happened...
Its crazy how much an 8070 is these days. Yeah if I understand it correctly the gecko he mentions doesnt have heat; there is one above that that does have heat. For guys starting out, putting hot water in the basin of a non heated extractor isnt a bad budget choice. It's nice to have a built in heater but this will suffice anyway
Very cool - thanks Rick! People are always asking on the forums, "what's the best extractor for auto detailing?" This seems like a great entry level option since I know these work. 👍
Hawk Pro Detailing do you do your vids Willy nilly or have a schedule? I’d suggest booking yourself in to produce content if you aren’t already rather than trying to cram at the end of the day. Unless of course the content is tried specifically to “what happens after a full day detailing”.
If it's so good why so many different types, sounds like a scam to me,,all the things you are showing you can get alot cheaper than you sell for,Dude go away ,who are you kidding, there are good spayers everywhere,

Can't lie. Gota love hearing a boomer explain something.. simple and straight to the point
Right? He's a good dude🙂

Great info, just placed a order, can’t wait to try it out. Wish shipping wasn’t soo expensive tho!
Rich at Five-Three Detail Shop let me know how is it
Hands down favorite episode so far Nick. Great content and interview. Thanks again for adding value from the carpet cleaning industry. Good stuff bro.
Thanks for checking it out!!
Carpet and upholstery version of ONR.

You should also make some more videos on DS2 and release it. I just ordered some. Not sure how to use it lol
Can you use encap ds2 on carpets (the red one) in the house and vacuum to substitute to clean the carpets instead of a shampooing with a machine
Wow, loved hearing an in-depth explanation of how these products work. Thanks 🙏🏼
Absolutely! Get yourself some DS2 and you will thank me:) so versatile and since its dilutable it will last forever

Nick! Can you let DS2 encapsulate, dry to crystal form, and then vacuum out? In a 2 -3 hour time frame? All within a reasonable amount of time?
You can! But best to use air movers on the carpet to make sure it’s all dry depending upon your method
Did you ever try this method with DS2?
Great video nick! Loved the format and content.
Thanks my man! Glad we were able to make it happen, it took some coordination lol

Awesome willing to try it out soon. Where you buy your spot stop. I see it on Amazon but you get it else where and cheaper? Same with Bio-Break?
Look for an interlink supply store👊
Reeeeeal happy a just bought my aqua pro vac with much cheaper plastic for the same price as that Gecko😅
like that bonnet mitt may be able to use without an extractor and use a wet dry vac or blower/air dyer

Thanks Nick. I got the Canadian distributor#, all good. Let ya know when I get it.
