I have a 1957 FC150 I’m currently restoring. Don’t quit on it! There’s so little FC content on RUclips because they are so rare, and the ones you usually find are completely rotted out or picked apart for parts. All of the drivetrain parts you can get online if you cross reference other Jeep models. Jeep used the same parts on all of their models in the 50s, so just buy parts for more popular models. I got all of my brake parts off of a 60 Jeep truck, same brakes. Kaiser Willy’s is where I get all of my parts. They are super helpful and you can reach out to Mike and he can get you those obscure parts that you might need. If you end up doing engine work, it’s super easy to take the cab off. Then you have access to everything. God bless!
I'm subbed to several auto channels, many of them doing CJs. You get tired and burned out watching such after awhile! Refreshing to see someone doing an FC this time.
Thanks guys! Like I said, tired of CJ stuff. Jeep-wise, I like the Jeepster trucks and wagons. Willys-Overland Flat Fenders, etc.. The underrated and unappreciated stuff. You doing this FC is great. Liked and subbed, y'all.
At 51:00:00, seeing that FC move on her own power brought me joy. She still's alitlle angry, trying to blow out the cobwebs, but she's running. Some people watch football and celibrate when their team wins. When I watch this kind of stuff, I have the same reaction. Hell yeah.
Every other! Better than before though haha! We're coming up with something that will most likely keep us sustainable without sacrificing one business for the other
The more you drove the old girl, the more the valves were cleaning up. lol I love the idea of putting in an inline 4.0 from a Cherokee XJ or Grand and continuing to restore it into a little flat bed or even a dumper! Either way, glad you guys saved this rare gem from the scrap yard.
Dude, on the breaking off studs. Take a die grinder with a wire wheel, and clean the studs of rust first! Then spray oil them. No heat necessary. Cool concept Jeep you got there. Best of luck.
I love the FC and would love to see more of it! But it has several design limitations, some of which can’t be overcome. They’re rare enough and valuable enough to send to another home if you guys aren’t enthusiastic about it. I’d love to see a 4.0 in it, but you guys have quite a lot on your project list at the moment
Back in the late 60’s I think it was hot rod or a 4wheel drive magazine they took a unit just like yours and built a motorhome kinda deal with it. I always as a kid waned to build one. But they took a camper and married it the the jeep and made a sick 4x4 jeep camper unit.try that
That's optimistic getting wheels & tires before it starts. Love these old FC trucks. The 226 was a decent engine in its day, I'm with many others a 4.0 should bolt right in. Parts are cheap & plentiful.
Love the truck. Want it for my daily driver. Wow. Sean, you and Alex are clever. Clever is cool. You guys don't have to try to be clever. You just are. Can't learn to be clever either. You are clever. There. Love all the vids.
Funny thing about jeeps of this vintage, there is a good chance that the wheel studs on the driver side are left-hand thread. Thats probably why so many busted off? My 1952 M38 had lefthand threads and I ended up replacing them with right-hand thread studs.
I have a 1959 fc150. Completely original and runs like a top. No rot or anything and I love it. Only thing that’s gone wrong is the passenger door latch which I am working on. They a curious machines. Mine doesn’t like going about 35. A dauntless v6 swap would be sweet.
Watched a few days ago and forgot to comment. Good stuff as always. Also I think Sleeperdude was looking for one of these. Might be worth reaching out.
That is a unique project. Something different. I would like to see you work with it and make it usable again maybe mount a fifth wheel trailer on its back. Make it a motorhome. It would be the coolest one in the R.V park
@@DailyDrivenDeathTraps T.Y. for the response, looking forward to it. Dad had a 66 with 4 Carbs. & a 4 speed. It was a tank in the snow with snow tires.

And don't paint it do the lace roof and some sick rims, might take awhile but this could be a killer little flat bed build for winter focus on just this project???? Could be some good content,
If I can make a suggestion guys, if the motor is beyond salvage look for an old Chrysler flathead six as used in Massey Harris tractors and combines. More cubes More power !
Weird I've never seen one of them in my life and then see one on sleeperdude video yesterday at a car show he went to and then see your video today never seen one in 40 years and then 2 in a week.
You guys do know that if the gearshift will move the transmission into second gear that you can "float" it from first to second by letting off the gas a bit and matching RPM's to get it into second, right? Those old FC Jeeps are quite rare, so that one is probably worth getting it mechanically sorted and at least making it a driver. Granted, no freeway action, but still cool around town!
I know of some old square bodies and an old ford near me I’m somewhere between clarion and fort dodge good luck buying them to fix I have an idea on how most of them got parked
We most likely will. On marketplace, non running ones are going for a pretty penny. So once we get a clutch, bed, floor pan.... everything you can probably think of as well as a paint job. It should go for a decent price plus be in 1 more video as a "budget build".
Sooooo. 4.0 in the jeep?
If you find a wrecked TJ or LJ, you can body swap it and it would be super cool. BleepinJeep did that with an FC170
@@DailyDrivenDeathTraps OM617
I came here to suggest that. Get you a wrecked wrangler and steal the drive train. Dana 44 front and 60 rear for the axles. That would be a beast
I mean… TDI swap it!
