After watching this video. I purchased one of these. I have really old opener. A Stanley, it's 40 years old. It works really well, but I can't get a replacement remote. This device was very easy to install and connect to my WIFI. The only problem I had was finding a spot for the sensor. I had to fabricate a piece to attach to the top of the door for the magnet. It all works well and now I know if my garage is open no matter where I am.
Thank you for sharing this .. really smart and helpful. Regarding the “open/close” buttons, can I add “hold” button to use while it is opening or closing !! @Automotivate
So you know and others....that system does NOT truly recognize if the door is opened or closed. Your app says the door is "open" when it was really closed. If you were to by chance hit the door "close" twice, it will actually open on you and vice versa. Also another HUGE security flaw...such as happened to me....if the power goes out in the middle of the night or whenever....the door automatically OPENS ! Fortunately for me, nothing got stolen. I returned my unit immediately after that occurrence. Try this out...see for yourself.
I thought I setup the Siri thing, but she just says "I don't see any smart home accessories connected in your home. I can help once you've set something up in the Home app." All else went well. Have "shortcuts". Setup Siri voice commands. What am I doing wrong? Why is it looking for "home app"?
Yes, you're just tapping into the existing connection. Because one of my remotes was stolen I had to remove all of the codes from each unit so that none of the remotes no longer work. But these units are great - I wish we had done this years ago
Thanks for the video, gonna give it a shot. I have an older opener and the website notes it'll work with my setup - hoping it works! Opener on the cell was the goal - this looks like it'll do exactly what I'm looking for.
UPDATE: installed the unit which was super simple and it worked right away! My old opener is now modernized for a fraction and hassle of replacing it with a newer modern unit!
I had the same problem with the remote not working; it was the LED bulb in the motor unit. Changed it for another brand. Same problem. Used a known brand, same problem... I tried to move the antenna to the opposite side, and made it one meter longer, same problem. CFL was not an option. So, I went with an old-school bulb. Problem solved. And my remote started to "work" again.
I tried that same thing but it didn’t fix my issue. I’m assuming the upstairs neighbors has something in their house that is interfering. Either way, i prefers to Siri activated garage door anyways

@@AutoMotivate it is compatible , but my problem starts before that, when i try the jumper wire on any 2 terminals, the up or down arrow flasing but the door will not move. therefore it is not possible to connect it until i figure out why the door will not move when i put a jumper wire on the white n red terminals. does that make sense?
@@csabi72 might be a stupid question, but does the door open normally? Everything I am seeing is referencing that the sensors aren’t aligned/dirty or there’s something mechanically wrong.
I have this product and I f I do not have my phone with me, I either use the clicker in the car, the keypad for my garage door, or another door into the house 👍🏻
Are you tired of using your old school clicker and not working when it needs to? WELL! Look no further!

Thanks! I was looking for a video how to install the garage door opener closer notification.
Thank you so much for the support!! I’m tried my best to hit every angle and I’m glad I met your expectations 🙏 thank you again

can you give more details on what you did to get the sensor to work and what was the issue for the sensor?
Thank you for your time and effort to teach us for these details. Your video was more useful than Ekyro's websites videos. Thank you.
Phenomenal detail. Installing, and then showing how to setup on phone and automate with Siri
Would if your wi-fi goes down? Can you still use the garage door openers? That would be a better case scenario, no ??
Question: Can I still use the garage controllers after the smart installation?
Hey! Just bought this and installed it. Just waiting on the adapter. QUESTION, does this work if your phone isn’t connected to WiFi?

...guy describes my exact problem....using a wired opener that I thought I would need and then talks about motorcycles......MY MAN
quite impressive
Anyone know how to reset unit?
Ok, but after you do that wiring, will the button by the door and the old garage door openers still work?
Yes they do! We are simply tapping into the wires not removing its current functions

Can i use 2 phone sam time
Yes!
Yes - you have to share the device with another user.
Have you had any issues adding a spouse iPhone to use Siri? She can open/close door with app but cannot add scenes says device not found.
No issues. She uses it all the time with voice control. I would re-setup her phone as it is most likely on that end.

@@RenderingsToTheMAX heck yeah dude! With this there is no point to replace the garage opener with something more expensive

Seems like a lot of work, but I guess if you have the patience, you could do this. Where is that accent from?
Anyone have any ideas why my opener not moving when I jump the white n red ? This is preventing me to install this wireless opener
I would make sure your garage opener is compatible by going to eKyros website

For some reason my Siri works with "Close the Garage" only.
Check the phrasing. I just used "Close garage door 1" instead of adding "hey siri"
I’m the guy who has to drive back a mile later because he can’t recall whether or not he closed the garage door.

I do that whenever I’m gone for more than a day. I use a heavy duty bolt. Appreciate the comment, hopefully others will see this
