- A popular Malaysian dish that is spicy and sour.
You can use other fish instead of sting ray.
850g stingray , rubbed with 1 Tbsp tamarind pulp
10 baby ladies finger
2 stalks of lemongrass
1 torch ginger flower
1 cup of tomatoes
Few sprigs of laksa leaves / Vietnamese mint
2 Tbsp sugar
75g Tamarind pulp + 3 cups of water
Spice paste:

12-15 dried chillies
1 red onion
4 clove of garlic
1 Tbsp ginger
1 tsp belacan / shrimp paste
1/3 tsp turmeric powder

Does the belacan need to be toasted?
No need to toast the belacan. Only add in into the blender together with other ingredients.
