Bilstein shocks totally change the ride feel on a truck. I bought Kyb first couldn't feel the difference then I bought Bilstein for rear and it drove like a car. I went Bilstein up front too. They are pricey compared to most brands but they ride soo much better than any shock on the market.
I have a 08 1500 sxt 4x4 do I gotta jack it up to change rear shocks like if I pull them off will something drop I’m just leaving as I go any help would help please
You DON'T need to remove wheel well. Use a stubby wrench and put it on top nut. As for bottom. Cut strap. Let it go. Jack up frame until shock is where you need it. No muscle required. You worked way to hard on it. lol. You're welcome.

Thanks for posting this. I need to do the rear shocks on my 2003 Ram 1500. I made a video documenting the front shock replacement on my truck.
Thanks! Making the videos take up a lot more time than actually doing the job in a lot of cases. I'm glad you could use it!
Have you replaced the front struts? If so what did you use and is there a video?
I did not. I have sold this truck and upgraded to 2500 cummins solid axle
Just curious for my safety, am i ok doing this job without jacking the car up?
I did
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 I order front shocks thinking I have some to replace but I don’t they told me I can use them as scruts
You probably need to order front struts. They are different than rear shocks. Also a lot more dangerous to replace id you dont know what you're doing!

You shouldnt have to jack it up to just change the shock unless you cant get to the bolts
What is the function of the keeper? How important is it? Can I just throw the top bolt back on without the keeper? I busted mine.
As long as both ends are secured and locked in place you should be fine!
Was there a hose or sensor near the top of that driver's side shock? If so, do you know what it is?
I don't recall. The truck has been sold now
How did you know the shocks were bad?
It was really unstable on the highway due to continuous towing
Did it raise the truck up any after the new shachs
No but it did ride much better
Got any links to the parts you used ??
I just googled the year make and model of truck and the part. Pick a brand and read reviews
I just opened a 1 inch hole and put a extension through it
That works too!
