G,day Champ Thank you for this video. I have practiced that picking as you suggested and have got it now . I will be moving on to stage two . I have looked at dozens of videos but this has been one of the easiest to follow. Not easy to do but easy to follow your instructions Thanks
Thank’s Kirk, you are just what I have been waiting to discover, you make everything seem possible with your laid back approach and obvious gift at ukulele interpretation. I know that I am going to learn a lot from your influence. With kind regards Ray.
Thank you so much for doing this. Can you do a tutorial similar to this for the beginning of Metallicas Nothing Else Matters? You simplified it so well. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am beginer...your pattern is very nice..this pattern is available for other songs!!!! I will try it!!..you invent this pattern or how can we create patterns like this? is there any Rules?
I think I got this pattern from a book called absolute beginners. I don't no any music theory, but I would say there are no rules, whatever you think sounds good should be enough. If you want more picking patterns just just search ukulele picking patterns tutorials, there's plenty on RUclips lots of songs sound nice if you just walk your fingers down and back up the strings. My advice is play around and enjoy it 😊
Cool - This video was what in wanted to see. I’ve been practicing on a Em version with no fingering, but it did not have the fingering pattern available. Your video is great, I would like to see the baritone version.
@@williamswartz2449 it does sound a bit lower but it's just a good pattern. I only use about 4 Picking patterns but I use them all on both ukes , some songs work better tenor some work better baritone it's just trial and error .
@@kirkwoodley7685 it was clear, I am just used to reading notation where the A string is the top and G on bottom. Lol. Was wondering why it didn't sound right. I figured it out tho.
The ukelele is a sweet and humble instrument, as is this man. I loved your gentle patience.
Thank you so much for breaking it down! I am so excited to practice this!
thank you kirk!!! been looking for this for far too long, legend 🙌

Just put Baritone at the beginning of this title. It's pretty much the same as this video. 😀 Thanks for watching.
@@kirkwoodley7685 I guess, I thought it might be different due to the D-G-B-E tuning on the Baritone ukulele.

Paused the video at 2 min and practiced the pattern then found out at 3:50 I was practicing it upside down.
Sorry if it's not clear, I am definitely not a professional 🙄 but hopefully you've got something from the video 😊
