We have a chance to stop this, unfortunately too many people seem to have the “well I’m not old or sick so I’ll be fine” attitude. I also keep hearing “I’m not going to stop living my life...” thrown around. No one is asking you to stop living your life, they’re asking you to TEMPORARILY modify your lifestyle to help slow the spread of a pandemic with potentially catastrophic outcomes for people of all ages if it crashes our healthcare systems.

That is exactly the bit I have been trying to get over, people seem so unaware of the finite resources available to treat the "small percentage who may need it".
A small percentage of a large number is then a problem.

The worst thing that can happen is death. Being overly cautious overlooks the fact that you are FAR more likely to die in a car crash than from Covid19. The reason you are so "logically serious," about this, is because like most humans, you fear death, even though you have been dying ever since you were born, and the only thing promised to you in Life is DEATH. When the only PROMISE of life is death, why would I run from it or be careful to try to avoid it, when there is nothing I can do about it? If I wash my hands, avoid door knobs, dont touch cash, and wear a mask, I might get home, and find that the IRS bill I received had COVID on it, and I die from the envelope. There are FAR too many ways to catch it, so your logical caution , is illogical. Don't sneeze on people ? sure. But modifying your lifestyle will acheive nothing.

    • @williamswenson5315

As I was checking out I was talking to a cashier about the virus. She looked at me and said, “I don’t have to worry because I’m young”. Later another man laughed and said it was a joke. See those films you missed. Go fishing. Bring out the binoculars to see the stars, or to go birdwatching or whatever animals you got in your location. Start renovating that old car, motorbike or lawnmover you got in the garage.

I'm wiping my groceries down before putting them away. Imagine the germs on the cart handle. You're touching the handle and then your food over and over again.

Yes im doing that and im wearing plastic gloves and have a pile of tissues soaked with Sagrotan the german equivalent of lysol or Dettol and use 2 of them to take off the gloves when i get home.

I did that, too. My teenage daughter thought it was overkill, but we live in washington county, Oregon where one official case of CV has been reported.

@@deniseg-hill1730 Good idea with the gloves! I think any items you bring in, especially food, is an overlooked risk.
I found a list of products that kills coronavirus but i'm not sure about covid 19. Dettol wasn't on the list but that could be because it's an American website. With our groceries I've been using rubbing alcohol or peroxide and switching it up between lysol, clorox wipes, peroxide and alcohol for our devices and doorknobs. I'm immunocompromised and quite frightened. My husband would think I was nuts if he saw what I do while he's at work!
I'm curious to know, are people wearing masks in Germany? Take care and good luck from NYC!

@@jaimiewidmer9304 I know, my husband thinks I've lost it and teenagers always feel invincible. You're doing the right thing. Better safe than sorry! I would be cautious and proactive anywhere. Honestly I think they (China and The US) let it go so long that almost every community in America is going to have cases. It's just that the west coast started ringing the alarm bells sooner.
      Stay safe and good luck!

Ps. If your hands are breaking out from all the washing try African Shea butter bar soap. It's fantastic! Suds up beautifully and does not dry your skin.

Thank you so much for the time you take to calmly explain what is the current situation, and what we can do as individuals. When I was at junior school in UK we all had to stand in a line and show both sides of our hands for a cleanliness check before going in to lunch. I have jokingly replicated this is the office, and ensure anyone coming into the office first goes to wash their hands for 20 seconds before an "inspection".

Gosh ...you really made it clear , the meaning of civilisation.....to look after the old, vunerable and sick.....the complete polar opposite to what this government has done the past 10 years....and running our NHS into the ground into the bargain......I fear for this country for sure....we are facing our own mortality sadly , exasperated by a concerted government attempt to de stabilise our nhs for individual economic gain.....

Because they are trying to keep the sheeple calm while allowing this to run its course and they dont want you avoiding it, which will inevitably overwhelm our NHS and cause maximum damage to our inferstructure. Depopulation sucks huh!
Look at the actions from countrys around us that are at least attempting to save themselves...
But we're being told by our leader and shills like the Doc hear, to wash our hands while singing happy birthday twice lol. Literally laughting at us.
Other countries actions speak louder than words from liars and fools

The nursing homes will be catastrophic. I’ve worked mainly in that environment and they are so so fragile, one minute they are ok the next in hospital fighting for their life, that’s just with everyday viruses and bacteria not a new one that their immune system hasn’t encountered before.
