Amazing. One of the best cold opens in a long time in a weird situation. The cut and camera change around 4:40 and the ending are perfect, and the director and cam operators did a perfect job with a dynamic scene happening.
In the behind the scenes during opening credits, they had an angle from the stagehand controlling the monolog stage roll out from storage under the band.
I’ve been watching SNL my whole life well over 30 years and I can tell you that was the worst cold open I’ve ever seen. I laughed a couple times at Dana Carvey as Elon but everybody else forgot they were supposed to be making a comedy show.
