Reaper lmao you tellin me😂😂
As soon as I saw the wire and the fuse I scrolled down to the comments cause I knew he was getting clowned about that and yep I was right.....but for real if it works for you and it's your vehicle I say go for it not everyone has time and money to make everything look professional!!
duceky1977 where can I connect the remote wire? My cigarette lighter doesn’t turn off, I don’t have a sun roof, and I’m really not sure where to go with it and I don’t like wrapping it around a fuse like that.
@@tylerc3477 just run a wire tap from the cigarette lighter and hook it to a toggle switch that way you can switch the power on and off.
@@tylerc3477 use your fuel pump fuse
thank god for the internet… i swear ive been searching for this video the whole day and I finally came across it!!! thank you so much
Anyone watching this...
DO NOT connect your remote wire to a fuse like that!!!!!
They make a fuse that you can piggyback a wire to it. What in the hell did I just see. Damn near 3 inches of bare wire before going into the fuse.
Thank u glad I'm not the only not stupid person hahahaha
AGREED
When I saw that part alone I said "HOLY SHIT"
Yo i just try that and it left my amp on
No need to run long blue wire from fuse to amp.. Take blue wire from Line output converter and connect directly to amp that’s all you need and share the L.O.C ground wire with ground amp wire and connect to amp. Great video btw
DO NOT EVER "WRAP" YOUR REMOTE WIRE AROUND THE FUSE LIKE THAT!!! spend a couple bucks and buy a low profile fuse tap literally gives you a wire to connect the remote wire to, shoving the bare copper between the fuse and fuse box like that is a horrible suggestion... dont do that
Why
@@dieselkumar6451he’s got soft hands that’s all
My boy that’s dangerous af
i said the same shit lmao
Dear god; people don’t do anything this video shows you!
Why not?
😂😂😂😂
Mm mm
If it works it works😂 your not gonna start a fire with speaker wire
How about burn out some fuses 😂
Bro the yelow and blue wires you cut off of that were your renore wires i have the same hi low converter its a scoche from walmart you were suposed to hook yellow and ground up to amp power and ground and then run blue to remote on amp and boom no electrical fire risk
Nikolas Parfitt How is it a fire risk without being powered
You mean boom his battery is dead if he did that. U don't connect ur remote wire to the amp. That literally means it's taking power from the power wire coming from the battery.
Incorrect. The LOC is signal sensing. It only allows transfer of power from the amps battery lead to the remote when the stereo turns on. That's the entire point of the LOC. Everything in this video is wrong. @@thelegendarywasdgamer9724
I'm gonna say sorry in advance,, but this is an absolute terrible install n not only that but that's 2 new of a car to install this way especially a Honda,,, I in addition would never use scosche loc weather it was needed or not scosche makes absolute garbage loc's,, but if this works 4 him w no issues then more power to him,, as long as he's happy
If you're going to connect the remote wire to a fuse. Connect it to the radio fuse
Never done it but was thinking the same
@FenleySmith lol I have read more of these comments since you responded to me. There's a fuse adapter that can connect to your cars fuse panel and it gives you a duel fuse connection with a wire attached you can use for a remote. Completely removable, doesn't affect any of the cars wiring for warranty and it cheap
Ah dang yes I just looked it up , ima buy one instead of buying a aftermarket stereo 👍👍👍👍
@FenleySmith awesome 👌. Just a FYI if you're going to run multiple amps, lights, any equipment off remote you're able to just make sure your fuse you connect to on the panel is the same. Example if the fuse you attach is 15 then the second fuse can't be higher! ( safety ).... if you need more amps connect to a bigger fuse in the panel, same thing applies. Your welcome bud! You have any other questions let me know. Lol if you want to keep factory head units rca's can be made as well
Appreciate it, thank you so much for refreshing my mind. Other video most of them don’t give much useful information…🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
This is the first video that clearly explains how to easily connect an amp to a stock radio using a hi-to - low converter. Thanks
Just read the instructions first, this fella idt he did
Ah yes the good ol days of highschool when i watched my buddy's car start on fire as we drove to school from doing this. Lol good times. Hey it still worked.
It's always something for starters. From what I see you could install your amplifier without HI/Low signal adapter to "high imput" in front of amp. But you did good here anyways. I would strongly not recommend wiring anything to fuses. You can find mostly yellow cabel behind your head unit and measure voltage there. When ignition is on and shows 13.5-14.5V~ and when ignition is off and shows 0V you got the right one from which all car audio amps take start signal normaly. For measurement use multimeter (10$ new one) and measure this yellow wire with black one (usualy) .
Reminds me of how we did it in the 80s.
Sorry can I just suggest to connect the remote wire to the radio fuse. it would make it a lot easier
sure, you can suggest that lol.
KFKMF agreed or antenna wire on back of head unit
Please people don't put your remote wire like that please take advice from somebody that's been doing it for 17 years you can melt your fuse box in car
Mark Gomez so where do I put it
Mark Gomez please explain
I hooked my remote wire to my 12 volt accessory plug. I used a wire tap no cutting done and I fused it. Works great and it's safe. Only comes on with the key on.
Why aren't your positive and ground hooked up on the adapter
Im asking the same questions
I have the 4 speaker wires, yellow, black and blue wire on the converter
But I see he dis not connect any of those just the speaker wires
@@osmanbautista1029Because literally everything he did is wrong. Complete hack job and made it more difficult than it needed to be with the remote wire to the fuse panel. This video should be removed before someone fries their electrical system. I'm surprised some people can find their way out of the house in the morning.
@@thomasblake7046yes that true
I found out how it really should be on another video that this other guy did but in spanish. He explained it really good
U made my job so much easier now my car bumps it used to just hit now it BUMPS thank u bro u definitely helped me out !! Big thank u
Never use bare wires lol especially on a fuse next other fuses
what should I do instead for remote turn on?
Doesn’t matter
@Red I said don’t use bare wire on a fuse next to other fuses they sell stuff for that you put the fuse in an it and your wires are connected to the adapter
they sell fuse taps like 9$ at any auto parts store or Walmart.. thanks for the video
That's how I run all my cars stereo grounds. I'm on car 6 that hasnt burnt down
Where did you ground the black wire and the red positive wire I’m just curious 😂
Straight From The Still grounded the black to a bolt in the chassis. and ground a positive wire? uhmmm i didn’t that wouldn’t work.
In my opinion it’s best to connect the remote wire to the stock radio remote wire.
What if we only have one factory subwoofer in the trunk. Do I need to tap into 2 subs like u did?
you find anything? i got the same problem
This guy is telling you how to setup your audio the wrong way 😂😂😂. Do this if you want to burn your car
My remote wire has been connected to my radio fuse this way for 5 years now. It has never caused any problems. Ofcourse the wire isn’t that tacky on mine though. The wire was cut just short enough to fit beneath that fuse only.
You don’t need the remote wire with the converter correct?? No need to run a remote wire when you have the converter tells the amp when to come on right?
Not all converters do
You were supposed to connect the blue cable from your LOC to the remote on your amp, the yellow cable to the power on the amp and the black cable to the ground on the amp. That way your amp turns on when your car turns on
What if the remote on the back of my Kenwood X502-1 is only an option to be plugged in do you have to hardwire it in to the remote plug it looks like a computer plug? Please help
Thank you!!!!
Can you make a video pls I’ll be down to watch it
There is no power on the amp. Other than the 12v power wire
@@Meded-bi5qd that’s all it needs
How do you keep the voice from coming out of sub with this adapter I purchased this adapter for my Jeep and I’m getting straight voice out of sub no bass 🤷🏻♂️
You need a low pass filter see if theres one built in to your amp if not you can buy one itll filter out mids and highs
Instead of trying to cause a fire. Use a fuse tap. For the remote wire.
what is that
Did you have to run power and ground and remote to the line output converter? Or just connect the speaker wires?
All you gotta do is connect the speaker wire to the Left speaker (positive & negative) and right speaker (positive & negative). This is your input signal for your amplifier. The LOC, power, ground and remote switch are then to be connected your amplifier.
So I don’t really need to connect the LOC to a ground, remote, or power, right?
No just the speaker
so if u have an amp for speakers and amp for subwoofers u dont have to remove the head unit at all with a converter?
Looks like you didn't use the remote wire from the converter to the amps remote turn on or connect the yellow wire to your cars constant 12 volt source. Why did you do it the way you did it? You could have just hooked the converters yellow wire to the amps positive, the black to the amps ground, then the blue/white to the amps remote. No need to run a remote from the front to the rear.
DJ Soundz Entertainment I realize this now. it actually took me a long time to figure out i needed an LOC and by the time i installed the LOC, i had the amp’s remote already tapped into the fuse box. but you’re right, might have to remake this video
DJ Soundz Entertainment so, you are saying if you do it this way to just run the remote wire, 12 volt constant, and ground wire from the LOC to the amp, and that would work?
@@MichaelLammers please remake this video
Thank you that makes it so much simpler than ripping every thing out.
😂😂😂Make sure you have Full coverage insurance this is a fire hazard
My car doesnt have back speakers so how do i connect the amp and subwoofer
I did it through my back door speakers but it’s pretty difficult to do and more of a hassle.
Hahaha lmao omg let me know when ya car burns down!!!
travis rickett still running almost 3 years strong
I see lots of these people's points with it being a very unproper setup job, but for a first attempt it is decent. Thing is, it works. Looks similar to my first attempt. Over a few days I cleaned mine up, screwed down the amp, ran the remote wire to the radio etc. But, this is much better than paying car toys 200+ for labor. You're not gonna hurt anyone or set anything on fire. These guys are just a bunch of hypocrites, they probably don't even know how to keep their homes tidy.
lmao thanks dude, been over a year and a hald and not a single flame haha
Mvp
Connect the wire to fuse box with a 3 inch bare wire like this if you want to catch the car on fire and have a car-beque. Don't do this!
At least you try bro good job
thank fam
liked the video, can you show us your racecar bed next lol.
H.S. I absolutely lost it as soon as I saw this comment....ephin A dood...
Everything he did is after the head unit. This is a simple setup thanks to the Loc. If he were changing out the head unit or any of that it wouldn’t matter. It’s just using the existing audio wires to go from a hi pass signal to a low pass signal for the amp. Then he has an on off signal to turn the amp on and off. Very simple. The loc just converts the high pass amplified speaker signal to a low pass line in signal for the amp. Been doing it this way for years in set ups that it can be done in.
Would this fail if I only wired my speaker wires to one side of the back speakers
it kinda hurts me to see 2.4k likes and 1.5k subs on a video that helped over 550k people
p.s i liked ur video
Thank you. Your tutorial is a BIG help..
Hey man, what was the reason you ran it like this? Was it because your fuse kept blowing? That’s what’s happing in mine. My 25 fuse connected to the amp keeps popping. But I think it has to do with me hooking my yellow wire up to my positive running to the amp. But I see you actually cut your yellow and black positive on the output converter, and you cut the blue, do I have the same issue as you? Does this mean I don’t need those ones either
He didn’t even know that the adaptor comes built with remote wire for the amp once that adaptor gets sound it’s signals the amp on.
Absolute hack job. Dont do it this way. At all.
superchopper 1996 thanks for the ad revenue tho
So the remote wire from the l.o.c, does it plug into the remote location into the amp alongside the regular remote wire?
Is the blue and yellow positive leads and the Orange and brown the negative leads?
Cool video bro bro but can you cut the amp on and off say it's 5 in the morning and you don't want to beat can I turn it off without unplugging something
This method was used back in the days when old amps can't receive high voltage through RCA. Now days 90%of amp.. Accepts high voltage through the RCA.. In fact.. Use the higher voltage for sound quality. Read the amp manual and save money.
hey man thanks for sharing this. I was wondering about the same thing. I'm just waiting for the delivery of 5 channel amp, component speakers, co-axial and a sub. I have an 2016 Vauxhall/Opel Insignia so do you think I'll need a line output converter?
@@lislis1989 no.. Line converter is used the old days when amps can't receive higher voltage. Line converter is just step down the voltage from 10 volts for example to 5 volts or less. The higher voltage single carry is the better..
@@fa6151 Thanks for your reply. I decided to buy a 6 channel LOC (model: In Phase SRC6) because apparently, it gives much more sound control, removes bass roll-off and generally improves the sound quality by sending a raw, unprocessed signal to my amplifier. It's true that it's not necessary because Alpine S-A 55V amplifier accepts a high level signal but I've been advised to get a LOC if I want a truly great sound:)
@@lislis1989 watch kicker company when they spoke about high voltage inputs for them amplifiers.. Well brother, if you are really concerned about the sound quality, I do I advise you to clear the problem by changing your head unit.
This is what exactly what I was looking for. Thank you 😊
Do NOT listen to this kid. His install is sketchy asf and pretty dangerous haha
If you hook the amp remote wire up to your windshield wiper fuse, it will have power as long as the ignition is on. You don't need to turn on your wipers to make it work! LOL!!! :D They make piggy back fuse holders for this too, plug the fuse holder in and it has a single wire molded into it.
First red flag was the parents basement shot...... I almost turned this off when it started talking about the fuse, but I couldn’t in good Conscience leave without saying don’t listen to this person.
I think it would be better looking at the car manual and see what colors are the positive ignition and ground in the stereo more safe and easier my opinion tho
liked the video bro. but do goi have to wire up both rear speakers in order for it to work or could you use jjst 1?
fr i have this problem
How did u have remote on. So amp would not stay on all the time?
I belive he tapped into the fuse panel to a switched 12v power source so when the car is off the amp turns off then when he powers the car the amp turns on from the switched 12v he tapped into
This Video is Shocking. I am a fully Qualified Car Electrician and this makes me cry that this guy is teaching people so wrongly, you do not join wires and put tape on them, they should be solider'd even if there just speaker cables, also The remote wire going to the fuse box is such a shambles and highly Dangerous. this video is getting reported. putting peoples life's/Property in danger just for your financial Gain...
This tutorial is such a disaster i don't know where to start. The LOC that was used had remote turn on capability to turn on the amp. Why a separate wire was run to the fuse panel us beyond me. And jamming it behind a fuse is a hack job that can damage equipment and possibly cause a fire. Sure it'll technically work but its risky and completely unnecessary. The LOC comes with a built in remote turn on wire for the amp. Theres also a power and ground wire as well. You can take the power from the amps power in cable and share the ground as well. Then use the remote wire from rhe the LOC and hook it up to the remote turn on the amplifier. The LOC is signal sensing, meaning that as soon as you turn your stereo on the LOC senses that from the speaker wire signal, then allows the input power from the amps battery power cable to go through the remote wire to turn on the amp. So the amp will only go on when the stereo turns on. And will go off when the stereo goes off. Thats the entire purpose of this type of LOC. Its completely unnecessary to run a remote wire to the fuse panel. He cut these wires off for some reason and only used the speaker outputs. Sure it'll work but those other outputs are there for easy install and to make a more safe and effective install. The only thing done correctly was the wiring into the speakers and even that looked like a hack job with the electrical tape. Nothing in this video should be copied. Its completely wrong. I understand not everyone has auto electrical skills or the understanding on how things work in car audio but Google is your friend. A little bit of research will show you the proper way to do this. This is an old video but if anyone sees this now, I hope they see my message. If you have any questions I'll be more than happy to answer, although I'd rather see this video removed before someone damges their equipment or their car.
What if your car has a factory amp and you want to do the same set up that you got going on
So the two white and two gray wires connect to left and right speaker ?
I highly suggest using a fuse tap adapter instead about 1000% safer and will be a better connection you can get one at most any auto store but the sell them at Wal-Mart to it allows you to plug in the fuse like regular but it has a small 3-4 inch wire that comes off the adapter that you use to connect to it without any exposed wire it also looks good!!!
www.walmart.com/ip/Automotive-Fuse-Tap-1-Pack-12V-ATO-15A-AMP-Add-Circuit-Blade-Fuse-Tap-Adapter-KitContents-Package-includes-1-adapter-1-15A-AMP-fuse-ABN/773594819
Above is a link to one they sale at Wal-Mart as of 3/30/18. It is currently $7.99 but that's a lot cheaper than what you'll pay if your car catches on fire!!! Lol
Do I have to use the remote, the ground, and the 12v wire on the converter box? Cause I have a 2017 Ford Escape SE and I have them running from the converter box to the amp and my amp is not powering up
My ass was about to pull the whole radio out. Ty lmao
Should use a switch in instead of a fuse. Its way easyer. Turn on if you want bass to turn heads and turn off when your mum and nan is in the car.. on the switch it has ground, live, remote. Test if switch and wires are okay. Have 3 coloured wires. Or any wire, Unconnect the wire from the amp so there no spark while putting it through the car and run the wire from the amp to somewere suitable to turn it off and on, in the pocket switches near key ignition. Its easy to hook up. Warning!! must turn off when not in use. Because it can leave you with a flat battery.
Fuse adapter on the remote wire would help a lot too
And don’t use electrical tape to "secure" a wire, that’s the dumbest mistake you can do. Use actual connectors, or solder to do it properly and to rule out if down the road the wires didn’t just come loose and or arc
Please if you’re not going to do the job properly then don’t fucking post a "how-to" video, just stop
Did this in my Audi A4 b7, took the signal from the rear door speakers. But now my subs are playing sounds like a normal speaker almost. How do i fix this?
If anyone follows your example with having 3 inches of stripped wire in the electrical box they will short Circuit their box if that wire shifts onto another circuit..... Stop trying to sell links to sell products with shitty how to do videos adleast learn to do the freaking job right
Thank you bc I was about to connect it to my radio ÷.÷
You lost my attention after you showed how you put that remote wire into your fuse panel like that.
lmfaooo yup! same here my eyebrows almost flew off my face they rose up so fast
I’m barley getting anything thru it and I don’t even think my Amps turning on everything ran good grounded to frame remote wire good
Know what now I know how all the burned up cars at pick n pull got there. This guy did the speakers . If you're going to do that with the remote don't leave so much open wire and for God sake heat shrink it
how do you know which wire is neutral and which is your hot line in the rear speakers?
God damn thank you
nah bro, thank you.
I thought I was crazy for using a switch to turn my shit on but this guy is fkn crazy
please dont listen to this is unsafe to wire the cable the way he did on the fusebox the audio converter is the proper way to use your remote
Did you read the wiring diagram? The LOC and your AMP share the same Power and the LOC has a remote cable to your amp ( but you cut both of these wires off your LOC???)... No need for ghetto Fuse fire hazzards mang.
sidney medrano so just connect the remote wire of the loc to the amp remote ?
I did the same hook up and when I turn the volume up all the speakers shut off or loses signal amp stays on and radio on but loss of sound what am I doing wrong
Hey bro did you ever find the problem ??
First of all you are going thru with this video instead of taking it to a profesional lmao🤣🤣💀
"this is what a fuse looks like" good gawd!
If you have a one speaker sub do you only need to connect to one of the spots on the converter?
You didn’t connect the yellow and black wire from the converter LOL or didn’t explain why was it not connected

Have you ever looked at the spelling on the cereal box? Derp
Gets way better wen one of his janky wire connections short out and catch fire hahaha
from the fuse box did you gave power input to amp? Im asking this becoz most of the people give it direct from the battery.
on mine, running the remote wire directly from the battery to my amp would’ve kept my amp on 24/7 and drained my battery when the engine wasn’t running.
DONOT DO WHAT U SEE HERE!
Just go ahead and jam a rat nest of copper in to your fuse panel and micro fuses work the best must be a Honda thing and y does everyone splice right at the speaker connectors when they do the converters
This guy lives in his mom and dads house
not true, but i do spend some time in *your* moms house😘
Terrible install man. No sane man would wire up the blue wire directly to a fuse. Especially an exposed wire
windshield wiper fuse would work fine btw. it's powered by the ignition and that's what you want.
Armed Buckeye maybe in your car, however in mine it is not. i tried the windshield wipers and my amp only turned on when the wipers were active.
Can you use the cords that go from red and black into aux to put in-between the sub and amp to run a aux
You can just run a wire into your remote straight into you power line, but your amp will always be turned on, so if you want to keep unplugging your amp everytime you use it then it will work :p
yeahh lmao fuck that
The ignition is a good spot for the remote cable !
It won't work that way with a 2017 Ford fusion tried it and it only threw back all factory sound... When I clipped the wires from the rear 6.5 and ran them the subs worked
yup :) lot easier when u have a stock sub :)
If you have a factory sub in the back between the two rear speakers you can use that instead?
I cant help to say that you sound like the tortoise from finding nemo lol. 😂 But good helping video.
723k views?? I really hope he changed his box lol
Never install a remote wire like this lol they make locs that have a remote wire to connect too
I have a dodge dart how would I know what wire is negative and psotve
I have installed the line converter… but I’m getting nothing .. as far as sound
My civic is a 2012 will only run one amp literally just one amp any other amp will not power on
Why would you tell people such bad information, your one of those "I can do it cheaper guy" not to mention the trashy boss amp you got which probably only puts out 250 or less , stick to juice boxes and pokemon bub leave car audio to people who do it right
sleepy addiction you’re* and the car runs like a dream
If you don’t even know what this is or that you needed it then do yourself a favor and have a professional do it.
