I don’t measure when making biscuits but they turn out perfect every time. I’ve been making biscuits for decades.

Just as with pie dough, keeping everything very cold is crucial. I do a few “turns” with my dough, as if making puff pastry. I shape the dough into a square and cut square biscuits with a knife. No need to re-roll anything. Egg wash on top, and bake at 425°. Beautiful!

Great tips, would be nice to see what they look like when done wrong instead of just describing it so if you're doing something wrong you know what you're doing wrong just from the looks

Spot on about white lily. It’s all we use in Tennessee. Something interesting… our favorite cutter is an old condensed milk can. Poke a couple holes in the bottom so a vacuum isn’t made when cutting your biscuits.

Any kind without Buttermilk. Buttermilk is Not My Friend😭😭😭But, mayonaise biscuits are far too easy and so good. I save the butter for spreading on fresh from oven biscuit. And a slather of preserves on top

How about my biscuits come out looking amazing but have the worst bitter salty taste. Any ideas what causes it? The only thing I can find says the baking baking powder or baking soda is measured wrong but I've checked the quantities and they're right

You talked about biscuits, but you kept showing other things being mixed up and you talked about not using mixers but yet that’s what you kept showing. Plus you showed some people putting in the mix. I don’t think so . You also was showing people making cookies. You don’t show things like when you are talking about biscuits. That’s a sure way to get some people really mixed up. You video was good but would have been a lot better if you had just stayed with biscuits.

I’ve never made any of these mistakes when baking biscuits and for that reason and only that reason I’m awarding this video a downvote 👎. Congratulations 🍾 you guys have earned it.

I love ❤️ how they admitted at the end that all these “mistakes” were basically nonsense. For this reason and only this reason I’ve decided to remove my downvote 👎.
