Gut wrenching.
I'm starting to think Wakanda and Atlantis had some type of peace treaty. With Wakanda agreeing to keep Atlantis hidden. Which is why in Endgame Okoye dismissed the under water earthquake. But something happens where Atlantis is exposed or attacked and they blame Wakanda for whatever reasons. Just spit balling here.
Right. Rumors indicate Doctor Doom is behind the disturbance of Atlantis. Searching for materials for his machine in Secret Wars 👀
that's what i figured too. I think they might do something similar to Killmonger, showing us scenes from the past throughout the movie giving us more context with each one.

Yeah I'm wondering if that ship was a plant by Doom dressed up to appear to be Wakandans.
Doom made it appear that Atlantis was behind the death of the Black Panther. The Kingdom of Wakanda retaliated not knowing they were tricked. Atlantis then revolted and attacked Wakanda as well. When they found out the truth, they joined together to defeat Dr. Doom who was behind the problems all the while.
Great analysis. But you appear not to be familiar with the opening song "No Woman, No Cry" originally written and performed by the legendary Bob Marley. This version is performed by Tems, a Nigerian singer. What are the implications of that? It's a tribute to Chadwick who died of cancer. It's also a tribute to Bob who died of cancer in 1981 at 36. It's also a tribute to Africa to bring TEMS, one of the most emotive voices that ever came out of the continent, to deliver the tribute to the Ancestors. Her delivery is part of the reason people tear up. Blending it with Lamar's "Alright" completes the cycle of the tortous journey of the 'Wakandans' brought as slaves to America. The soundtrack is a spiritual tribute to all Wakandas who were forced into slavery, whose children are still being treated as second class citizens, and those who died along the way, including Chadwick, George Floyd, MLK, et al. To enter into that Great Future, you can't forget the Past. Heavy? Yeah...welcome to Reality.

This is the most brilliant teaser I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’ve ever cried & got goosebumps from a trailer. From the music choice, the cinematography, the costumes, the hair & make up… the lighting on all those beautiful Black faces, OMG… Ryan is a genius. And then Angela’s monologue… (give her the Oscar now!) I lost it right there. I don’t know how ima gonna keep it together during the actual movie! 💔🥲

We DID get a "good look" at Riri Williams. She was the girl in (we'll call it) orange that greeted Shuri. Also, I think a portion of this film takes place during the "Blip". Ramonda said she lost her "entire" family. This was true so by default she went from Queen Mother back to Queen for 5 years. Apparently she went back to Queen again.

I like how the trailer transitions from the mourning of death to the celebration of life. Even though ofcourse the the time line in reality is different.

I cry when Angela Bassett started speaking about her family. Also check out the Woman King. Its about the Dahomey which are the original Dora Milaje.
Awesome reaction and breakdown. For me I think Ryan Coogler, Kevin Fiege, Marvel Studios and the editor of the trailer were also telling the audience that everything is going to be alright.
And BTW we do see Riri. She's the one Shuri greets in the lab scene (Riri is in orange).

it's shuri. you could tell it's her at the panel. letitia was very reserved during the panel and didn't speak much. it's like the vibes of stepping into the role of someone close to her that passed is having an effect on her...
I do believe it will be her. I feel that we haven't seen the last of Killmonger though.

Queen Ramonda says her entire family is gone. (Just spitballing) What if the Shuri/Namor meeting goes badly and he abducts her; while the Queen is trying to convince the Council to mount a rescue, Nakia dons the Black Panther suit and goes after her?

Erik Kilmonger would be interesting but What If gave me the impression that he is prone to be radical and self-absorbed no matter what universe he is from.
I could see this. I thought he started to show signs of compassion and understanding at the very very end of the first BP.

I think he starts out obsessive and radical in every universe his father is killed like he is in BP1 but after the events of BP1 I could definitely see that changing and him getting a story arc

Not Namor parents..but the birth mother and a "doula" as her servant...because Namor's father is a human. That is the reason for his pink skin color..he is the "first mutant". But, still a nice dpiction underwater. Love your channel.

Nice reaction but I swear I died a little inside when I heard the legendary Bob Marley song "No Woman No Cry" referred to as a remix of a Kendrick Lamar song. I was raised on Bob Marley. That hurt almost as bad as the trailer.
Sorry for your pain! Lol Upon further research it does start as Bob and then gets crossed with Kendrick halfway.

I'd have to agree. The music build up and the emotion felt behind his passing. Simply great.
Rip Chad. I am in tears. I'll be watching it in tears...what Angela said oh you can feel it, shuri...The funeral, tribute, scenes, Namor. The writing about Chadwick in Wakandian...it was a lot. Chadwick ck is not Jesus. Its what he represented. Wakanda is not Jerusalem or the African continent. What could have been if we listened to our King and kept outsiders away. It's what it represented. God bless them, Chadwick, his wife and family. When God returns, our Saviour Jesus, we'll be a true nation again. A nation in a day #RealLife. We'll return from the lands we were taken to and go home where we are safe and belong...and at peace finally. Leaving this nightmare behind. Seems like we wanna go home...the majority that we're crying over Wakanda.

1. Marvel's phase 4+ has not been cohesive enough to say with strong confidence that they will introduce a multiversal black panther.
2. The muscle tone of the actor in that suit at the end suggests a female.
3. They wouldnt kill off Shuri. It would be in bad taste and take away from the impact of Chadwick's loss. However, Shuri will likely be captured or leave Wakanda due to despair then come back as the new black panther. From a story perspective, Shuri will also provide a catharthic path for the viewer for Chadwick's loss.
4. RIP Chadwick Boseman; this looks like it will be an amazing tribute to his legacy.

wow, it's so interesting seeing how wildly different people's theories can go based off a trailer without any context - and that theory about a multiverse killmonger who didn't go bad would've been awesome. I just watched the movie a couple days ago but I didn't watch any trailers, so it's cool seeing what everyone saw in retrospect. Great theories and reaction!

I believe that T'Challa made a pact with Killmonger and prevented his death, that if one of them dies one should be the Black Panther. Or it is Shuri I mean we entering the new phase of young female heros anyway.

With Wakanda being invaded, what Erik said was coming true in certain ways. I think it would be cool if they brought Erik back but at the same time, the wrists shown in the black panther suit looked quite small so it could be Shuri too. Hmm...

And the way to totally surprise the audience is to not say anything about it until they pan up and his mask disappeared and revealed Kilmonger. The audience would.go.NUTS! 😲😲😲

First the song was originally Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry. from 1974 and then sampled by Kendrick Lemar in his 2018 song Alright. Second we get a great view of Riri Williams with Shuri shaking hands, and lastly its going to.be Shuri taking over the black Pather Mantel using her father's colors of black and gold like in the comics.
My theory after seeing the trailer is that BP dies, likely killed by Atlantians or so it seems, and for some reason everybody, including her self blames Shuri. Nakia becomes some kind of protector for Wakanda but she can't be the new Black Panther as she is not of the royal family. Shuri would go into exile, that's why the Queen says she lost her whole family. But by the end of the movie Shuri picks up the mantle to save Wakanda even if she doesn't want to or doesn't feel like deserving it, and the picture we see of her is probably the final Battle where she wears the suit for the first time.
The reason I believe the suit has nothing to do with Killmonger is that he took his suit from Shuri's lab. She made it with gold because she likes it, and she would pick that again for herself. Also if you look at the BP claws they look more like ladies nails than panther claws so due to that and the body type I would say the new BP is female, and is closest to Shuri's shape.

You don't have to be from the royal family to be Black Panther; T'Challa's second trip to the Ancestral Plain showed prior panthers being represented by the other tribe of Wakanda, and I believe even women were there.
Descendants of Bashenga seems to be the only limiting factor (herb was toxic to everyone but Bashenga); assuming Bashenga was 100 generations ago, he likely married among the 4 tribes that stayed, with his descendants doing the same in their time, likely creating a pool of beyond distant descendants who would all be viably able to take the heart-shaped herb (the Jabari, isolating themselves since basically the founding, would likely still have the herb being toxic to one of their own)

@@adampetery2965 Bashenga married and had children with a woman from one of the 4 tribes that stayed when he was named King. His children married among the 4 tribes, and their children after them likely did the same thing too.
The canon doesn't set a date certain, but if there was 100 generations after Bashenga, the pool of folks drawn from the original shaman who the heart-shaped herb didn't kill has some decent depth to it, logically.
The line of the current royal family could go back who knows how far; T'Chaka and N'Jobu were brothers, so you could assume that their father was also King and Black Panther, but you also have to acknowledge that Egypt had dynasties too, resetting whenever a lineage ended up being broken.
That's possible here, imo
@@adampetery2965 if you're a 9th cousin of Bashenga, who ended up marrying an 4th cousin of Bashenga (far enough out to ease genetics fears), the blood that flows through that union would be viable for the herb, if canon holds
If you notice when the claws come out, Kendrick says “and when I wake up”. To me, that means they bringing Killmonger back to life to be the new BP. 🤞🏽

I think it’s Shuri. Everything is female centric, especially the music. Maybe the Queen is saying she’s given enough…and now even her daughter too (serving as black panther)? When you pause on black panther, the hips/waiste look more female than male, but we’ll have to wait and see!

I thought I was the only one with this theory once Chadwick passed away. I also thought Michael B Jordan could be it. We never saw him truly die....he appeared to die but we all know T Challa and Shuri were scientifically advanced and capable of restoring him. Someone mentioned in the comic books, the sister does take over (not sure if it's true) but if could be MBJ....that would be FANTASTIC!!!!!
I think bringing him back in some way would be great!
If you freeze the shot of black panther you see neymo/neymar on his knees in the distance whether he is bowing or injured after the explosion behind him is unclear but he is on the ground for sure before black panthers feet

I wonder why she was on the dock around the flames like she was waiting to meet someone. I also feel tchala gf at the start being in that green suit and being by the water alot has mensing does she join the atlanteans somehow or indirectly give them knowledge of tchala death

The KEY to this film is WHEN it's taking place. This film has to take place DURING the 5 year blip. It has to be the reference for Okoye's line in "Endgame". IMHO certain things SHOULD NOT be done, this should be the last Black Panther film because Chadwick Boseman should never be recast.
I think the figure in the suit is female. Shuri seems likely, but it could be Nakia. I'm leaning to anyone else but Shuri only because her actor has made "problematic" statements before, and they want someone that can be around for more movies in that role till the multiverse event.
Right. Not to mention the queen at one point in the trailer mentioned her entire family was dead. That's a telling detail.
After watching Marvel's What If, it could be Kilmonger. He wore the same suit when he was frozen in time with the Hydra dude turned AI. Not sure they'd work that into this movie, but they could.

Heard someone say they may be in the ocean looking for that last guy that fought him that died and said bury me in the ocean. And that’s why they are at sea to get his body and bring him back from the other side like they did with Boseman and the music says something when I get up

In the first movie, Ramonda suggests to Nakia that she take the herb. I know they weren’t necessarily setting anything up in that brief moment, but it has me thinking it should Nakia to take up the mantle next.

Yes it does look like Killmonger's suit. But my money's on Nakia taking the Black Panther mantel. Going by her being the very first person we see in the trailer, plus the fact that we know she's a fighter, it makes a lot of sense to me.
Also the "my *entire* family is gone!" line from the Queen, it's plausible Shuri doesn't make it to the end of the movie. I know everyone's assuming it's mid-blip which is of course possible, there were numerous reports from the set that Marvel was very unhappy with her conduct during filming
I did see that she was talked about as difficult to work with on set. Also she has no combat experience, so Nakia makes more sense.
I think they are more accurate than the comic when it comes to namor. Atlantis are inspired from the Aztec and Mayan. So it makes more sense to me. Great take in the multiverse, but I don't see michael b jordan on credits so its probably shuri as the comics go when BP went rouge. The hand looks rather slinder and feminine. Great reaction video

I initially thought the new black panther would be Nakia since the movie opened with her and ended with the black panther.
On the last part of the trailer , I think that's the battle between Black Panther and Namor, because if you pause the video Namor is by Black Panther's hand, he has one knee on the ground, it's not clear, so blurry

I love Namor. For that reason alone I was already excited for this film. Three other things at SDCC I enjoyed was the new trailer for Star Trek Picard season 3. The first trailer for The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power. And finally the first look at the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. I love the Targaryen family and I am praying HBO will redeem themselves after the absolute disaster that was GOT's final season. 🙏

I'm inclined to agree with you that the Black Panther will be Killmonger. If you listen to the Kendrick line and the trailer stops after he says, "Uh... and when I wake up..." Could be a reference to him returning from the ancestral plane if the Wakandans were able to retrieve his body from the ocean after he was buried. Maybe that's his the Atlantians were discovered, if they were holding the body for the Wakandans.
This is my #1 theory!

Everyone keeps trying to figure who Black Panther is. Didn’t Marvel announce it will be Shuri in following with the comics? She had to play a major roll when production was brought to a halt when she was injured on set and returned to England to convalescence.

A dark horse for taking up the mantel is Nakia, in the first movie T'Challa's mother asked her to take the heart shaped root to save Wakanda (I feel like I'm remembering that correctly might be wrong haven't rewatched in a while)... What if due to T'Challa's death in another stressful situation she turns to her again and this time she accepts.
I can Totally see this playing out.
I truly hope they do not use the multiverse, we got a lot of that and I would be happy if it stays out of this one. I would be perfectly happy with Nakia or Shuri as Black Panther. Since Queen Ramonda says in the teaser "My entire family is gone." I assume Shuri will be kidnaped or vanish in some other way and will return as the new Black Panther at the climax of the story. She designed both suits in the first movie and would be able to create her own suit, she also has the scientific knowhow to reversengeneer or synthecice the Heartshape Herb (Killmonger burnt all of it), plus she has the mantle of Black Panther in the comics for a time, too.
We also get a good look at Riri earlier in the trailers (orange suit) and since she seems to be mentored by Shuri instead of Stark here (may be as a result of TChallas outreach program) I wouldn`t be surprised if her Iron Heart Suit would be Wakanda Tech and may be even made out of Vibranium.
